I bought this game ages ago when it came out and have probably not played it for around a year now. It was alright at the time with the world cup nearing us but it's now just an ordinary football game. There's nothing really special about it - the one player is based on the road to the world cup where you qualify.
You can pull of some basic tricks in the game using the buttons below the triggers - LB and RB. Besides this, everything is just as normal. You can tackle the ball normally or slide tackle. You can chip the ball or do a hard shot to shoot as well as passing the ball to other players.
The graphics are ok but nothing special. There are a few options in the game including the ability to play online against others (I doubt anyone goes on this nowadays - they would be on Fifa 08). You can also set up your own tournament and play that.
This game really is very boring and there's nothing exciting about it - even if you're a football fan. Considering it's so cheap now for around £10 second hand, I would buy it if you want a football game to play every now and then as it's pretty much the same as the rest and the cheapest.

road to fifa world cup is an xbox 360 game that was the build up to the world cup and the fifa world cup game. You can pick any of the teams that were in the world cup and guide them to the world cup finals. You can choose from england to Braziul all depending on your prefernces. The matches itself are ok but lack in the entertainment other football games do. For a starter you cant do any skills. Even the most simple sep over is beyond these players. The shooting is far to easy as a 45 yard sghot with good power is guaranteed to go in. The passing is sometimes very of target and slow. The actual tournament is ok but is quite short as you only play the qualifiers. This causes you to get quite annoyed when it is brought to an abrubt end just as you were gewtting into it.
I bought this game off a friend for just £10, and the only reason I bought it was to get the achievements off it and have a bit of fun. I didn't have a football game at the time, so I thought I may as well buy it for my friend's sake, as he could have sold it for more to a shop. I hate football games, as they are all so similar and I cannot believe people buy so many in each series, when they are all the same! Every single game, you just kick around a football, whether it is pro evolution or Fifa. T
he only this that differs is the fact you can perform new skills with different games, but this is so pointless. The graphics seem to improve from game to game too, but one football game is more than enough for me.
This game isn't bad, considering I got it for £10. There are a few options in the game. You can take part in European qualification rounds to get to the top and be qualified for the world cup.
You start by choosing a team, and then you will be in loads of different rounds, earning points along the way to try and come out top of your group. Being an Xbox 360 game, you earn achievements along the way for completing certain rounds and more. You also gain achievements from winning custom matches and other things.
As well as the main game, you can create your own tournaments. You can choose different options, as well as do the same for the main game in the road to the world cup. Options such as half-time length and more can be determined.
If you are good at the game, you can set the half time to 2 minutes and score a goal and just defend for the rest of the match. It is a really short game and not much fun, in fact it's repetitive and boring as I am not into football that much.
The graphics are pretty good, definitely better than past football games. The players are quite detailed and the replays show them in good detail too. The gameplay is very smooth, but really boring. There are a few tricks you can do to try and excite things up, but every match is the same, just against different teams with different colour clothes.
The controls are quite simple and work well with the game. You can perform lobbing kicks, shots and passes as well as perform 'skills' or 'tricks'.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone. It is very boring and ever so repetitive! I still have this game, because if I ever have the urge to play a football game (if the world cup is in play for example), then I have the ability to. However, with such repetition in the one player, I couldn't even bother to finish it -cares about the achievements? If I don't enjoy a game, then I will not play it as it is a waste of time. The thought of putting the game in to try and earn all the achievements is mind-numbing and just angers me.
This game is just £17.98 on amazon.co.uk. Not 'just', in fact I think it's a rip off for how bad this game is. The replay value for me was minimal, and the gameplay is boring and repetitive. Unless you are really into football, this game is pointless to buy. It is like any other, and so boring with the same concept of facing different teams and playing football. However, if you are looking for a football game to play for the Xbox 360 and don't want to spend much, then buy this. It offers you the chance to play some football and create own tournaments also with the added bonus of Xbox Live, which no one is on nowadays because it's an old game.

This is not a great game it just smacks of a cheap attempt to cash in. One of the problems is that you objective is to get one of the 70 countries featured to the world cup finals and the fact that two thirds of the teams are from Europe means that your choices are a bit limited.
In order to string out the game as welll as playing qualifiers you also have to play friendlies and a couple of mini tournaments but hat you do not get to do is play in the finals themsleves, that would mean that the designers would miss out on another cash in opportunity.
Visually the game is ok but there are a ew problems with it when it comes to gameplay. The first is the fact that your players are quite reluctant to attack, this can be overcome by opting for total attack mentality but it leaves you open at the back. Another glitch is the fact that a couple of times I have scored a goal and not had any response from crowd or commentators, it is an obvious flaw in the game and is annoying and frustrating when it happens.
On the plus side the controls are easy to master however this fact with the relative lack of gameplay means that this game does not represent good value for money and I would not recommend it.
