Setting up a home or small office network with this router couldn't be easier. My husband and I basically found this router which had some great reviews, personally we think they are all a bit if a muchness really. We needed to connect our 5 computer, Playstation, Wii, TV plus a few other gadgets onto our network and it seemed like this router would do the job perfectly.
It's advertised as a combined wired/wireless network connection device that will integrate with Internet sharing router and 4 port switch. It's speed is 300Mbps which caters very nicely for what we need. Sometimes there's 3 of us in our home all using the Internet at the same time and since using this router we've never had a problem with the bandwidth suffering. Pretty much everything that we stream is faultless and consistent. We placed the router in our lounge and it's hidden just behind our TV. It has a USB storage port on the back of the router which is great if you need to hook up an external storage device i.e. hard drive and are wishing to share your photo's on the network. Although I don't really see a great need for this as if I want to show a slide show I'll get everyone together in one room and view it on the TV.
My husband plays Playstation games online and has never incurred any problems, everything is always smooth and the signal always remains very stable which doesn't surprise me in the least as it has 3 receivers that simultaneously process all the signals in the receiver, in other words this helps reduce pesky annoying network dropouts.
Power consumption 10 Watts
Size: (H)28mm, (W)20mm
The router is built extremely well and can certainly take a few knocks to it armour. Setting it up is very easy and can be done with the Quick Security Setup feature, which allows anyone wanting to use your wireless network to be able to do so just by pressing the QSS button on the front right of the router. By doing so it creates a WPA2 secure connection. And best of all you don't need to put in a password.
I'd recommend this TP-Link router to anyone wanting to set up a wireless home network. Never had a single problem with it. It comes with a great instructional CD, which will take you through each stage of setting the router up. Setting up a wireless connection and security configurations has never been made easier - even I could do it within 10 minutes without chucking the unit out of the window in a rage - and that's saying something!
