“ BenQ AWL 700 - Wireless router + 4-port switch - EN, Fast EN, 802.11b, PPP „
Installing this device was straightforward. I connected my broadband connection to the WAN port and then the LAN 1 port to the LAN connection on my PC. Then I booted the system. I have found it?s easier to reset the modem when you install a device like this, as sometimes the PC will hold the previous ip address. Doing this helps reduces problems and any extra hassle of having to release the ip and reboot again. Once booted I loaded explorer as my explorer options were still at obtain address automatically from my previous use of the system. My homepage then loaded and I was online once more. Once I had fitted wireless lan cards into the other 2 PC I booted them up and they picked up the connection straight away. The unit ran perfectly and was very reliable. I didn?t notice any difference or slowness in accessing the Internet through this rather than through my normal method. I think the casing design could be better, but that?s the only grumble, as I don?t like the LED display. However every 2 months or so I do need to reboot the router as it seams to loose connection with the PC`s I think Benq have produced a good product, which performs well, and although only 11Mbps this is still more than speedy enough for all to use.
