“ Brand: Swatch / Watch for: Unisex „
I love swatch watches, their simple structure with wild printed and bold designs makes them one of my top 5 watch designers - I ask for them for Christmas, as well as giving them as presents to others! This particular watch was bought for me as a Christmas present (through the watch hut I believe) and is one of my all time favourite swatches
This is the risk a dare swatch watch - It has a very attractive wild face design, with lots of bright neon colours around the face and on the strap. Even with this bold design it is still easy to read the hands to tell the tine. The design, being so bold and eye catching doesn't appeal to all audiences, however I think that is the point. Although Swatch is a huge company, selling watches all over the world, you can't help but feel you are wearing a very individual piece. I would say the design would appeal more to a female audience, however it is a unisex watch, and many of my male friends have commented on it.
The watch has the distinctive round face, with a plastic strap. The strap is of a good length, with a range of holes for the slimmer and wider wrist. The only slight drawback is that the strap, being a plastic, can make your wrist slightly sweaty, however for such a funky watch I am willing to make the sacrifice. The design is bright and funky, and has lasted really well (hasn't faded at all / scuffed at all) which I am very pleased about. I go through phases of wearing certain watches, but there has been periods where I have worn this daily so it is suitable and comfortable enough for daily wear.
There is also a small turn dial on the side, which pulls out easily to change the time as necessary. Throughout the time I have had it, it has not lost any time (slowed down etc) as far as I can tell, and more impressively, I have not needed to change the battery as of yet!
As with all swatch watches, this came in a long clear plastic case with the swatch logo, which looks very smart indeed! Looks great when unwrapped as a gift! Highly recommended!!!
One of the fabbest and funkiest watches this side of the galaxy. Swatch can be relied on for taking watch imagery to a new level of excitement. It was my cousins who got me into them when we were kids. They were real girly girls and used to love collecting loads of Swatches. I think on the whole Swatch watches tend to appeal to girls more than guys, but the fact that the watches are unisex means both sexes can be kept happy!
This Risk watch is anything but risky in terms of design work. The colour scheme is superb and the graphics are now and happening! The interface boasts some bright and sassy graphics with some kind of creature face on it. As a big fan of all things monsterlike and sci-fi, this one was right up my street. The eyes and mouth are evil looking yet also have a cuteness about them. Large easy to read digits and bright blue hands allow you to keep track of the time with relative ease and the graphics do not obstruct the view of the time.
The watch has a strap covered with more alien creatures which further appeals to my alien side and you can even take this one in the bath with you. It is water resistant for up to thirty metres. I am never brave enough to slide under the bath for long enough to test this though! It comes with a case and is easy to start up, thanks to a little button on the side of the watch, no clumsy features to contend with here.
If I could alter anything at all, I would have had the whole strap made from black rubber rather than the white look, as this would made it more compatible with night-time attire. That said, this looks fun when you wear it out round the shops and will turn heads if you flash it enough. A fun and seriously funky watch. It costs between thirty and forty pounds, but check online auctions to get the better deals.
Risk a Dare is a really funky design from Swatch and is packed full of monsters, I have had this particular watch for a couple of years now and it has proven to be a really reliable time piece. I bought it from duty free and it cost me £29.99 at the time, I'm not sure how easy it is to buy these days and many more collections have been issued by Swatch since this first came out.
It is a plastic watch and quite a fun one in the way that it is designed, it is very comfortable to wear however in hot weather it does get a bit sweaty with the plastic strap. The strap design itself is a series of monster heads stacked on top of each other in a myriad of colours and it has a standard hole fastening system.
The watch face itself is within a plastic case and depicts another monster face in black and grey with huge stary eyes and jagged white teeth, there is a lot of colour and cartton characters on the watch and it is the same for the watch face, with the four main numbers in a sort of sixties font and bright pink, orange, blue and yellow in colour while the other numbers are just dashes. The watch hands are blue while the second hand is red. The case itself is a rather gawdy lime green colour and the whole thing is a mess of colour that just works really well and fits in with the monster theme.
This is a fun watch to wear and one that I still put on every so often, it is fun to wear to house parties and on casual days, not something I would wear if I worked in a boring office but a fun watch to own and so far the batteries have not needed changing after a couple of years use.
