I have had this watch for two years as a birthday present from a friend. I was glad to receive it as all my other watches were breaking. When I first saw it I loved the look, it is a simple design but at the same time it is very pretty. It came presented in a black Sekonda box which is perfect for keeping it safe when I am not using it. The watch I have is purple, my favourite colour, although it is sold in most colours. These include pink, white, green, black and more. The round face is 33mm (just the right size for me) and is framed in sparkly stones that really catch the light. Unlike my other watch none of the stones have fallen out (I have worn this daily for two years.) On the purple face is the number twelve and lines for every five minutes. The hands are white and this makes it easy to see against the purple background. The strap is the same colour as the face and is made from silicone. This is a lot softer than other straps I have had on watches and is comfy to wear. Some of my previous watches have had cracked or discoloured straps but this one has done neither of these and is still in perfect condition. It is recommended by Sekonda to avoid perfume and fake tan on the strap as it may cause discolour. The watch is done up by a buckle and is good if you have smaller wrists (like me) as unlike other watches the holes are half way up one side of the strap. This watch is not waterproof but is ok with small amounts of water when it rains. Small amounts of water can be used to clean the watch which is really easy because of the silicone strap. I am glad I received this watch as it has kept a lot better than other watches. I hope it keeps this way in the future.
I'm usually one for chunky watches that aren't particularly girly, but I came across this and thought it had just enough sparkle to make it pretty whilst retaining a chunkier style. So far, I've been really pleased with its durability and how it looks, despite not being so sure when I ordered it! Sekonda are well known for their watches and so I felt confident I was getting something high quality and reliable from such an expert brand. They've been going since 1966 and I believe they've been the 'bestselling' watch brand for the last 21 years, which is quite impressive. There are so many styles and colours to choose from when it comes to watches, and it really does depend on your own taste and what occasions you want to wear it, but the Party Time watch appealed to me because it was a little different to my norm. The is described as a 'Summer time Moonlight' fashion watch, and features an eye catching dial. Colours vary depending on the colour of the watch you've bought, so this review is primarily for the black one. This has roman numeral numbers for the time, obviously the minute/hour/second hands, and black background and a coloured stone set around the dial face. As expected, this has quartz movement, so you can rest assured the time-keeping is precise and reliable (at least, you should be able to and thus far I haven't been let down!). The strap is black silicone and fastens with the push-through metal clasp, like most other strap watches. The measurements are as follow: Diameter 35mm, thickness 4mm, weight 50g. As for the looks, this watch is an eye-catcher, with the set stones being sparkly and pretty. The black strap offsets this and keeps it practical and sturdy, yet still feminine because of the dial face. I wasn't sure about a silicone strap at first, but I've actually found it to be really comfy and it adjusts well to my wrist, which is quite small, without slipping or digging in. The dial face itself isn't too big in the sense that it doesn't feel huge on my wrist or get in the way when wearing something with long sleeves, but it's just big enough to make reading the time clear and easy. This comes in a presentation box which looks very neat and gives the image of good quality. In addition, for peace of mind, it has a 2 year guarantee, which is always a bonus. So far, I've not had any problems with this and there are no downsides for me. It may be worth finding this to try on in a store first if you prefer smaller watch faces, but I've found this to be a decent size and I've come to love wearing this watch for the way it looks. RRP £29.99, selling on Amazon for £23.99
I never used to wear a watch, but as soon as i saw this watch i knew I wanted it. Luckily I was in the departure lounge of the airport about to go on my honeymoon and my husband felt like spoiling me. What caught my eye? The fact that it was two of my favourite things.,1) it was green! and 2) it was sparkly. That was pretty much all I needed to know. On a more serious note, I liked how the watch looked and i knew that Sekonda were a decent brand so i figured it would preform well too. This watch is available in lots of different colours and not just the usual brights, there is a really nice burgundy one too. The diamonds around the outside provide a bit of bling without it being an evening watch. Its ideal for every day wear too. I liked how the face colour matched that of the strap so it blended together really nicely. The strap is made from imprinted silicon so is really comfortable to wear and again gives a casual appearance to the watch. It moves with my wrist easily and so never seems to dig in or hurt. The stap measures approx 1.5cm so isn't too chunky. it has a silver buckle and there are plenty of holes on the strap so would suit a variety of wrist sizes. I have quite large wrists and wear this on the second to last hole, but the tab still fits into the restraint for a neat finish. The only downside is I do find the silicone tends to make my skin sweat a little. Looking at the watch face it is quite elegant, the number twelve is written in numericals but the rest of the numbers are marked with a silver line. The hands are silver and there is a small sekonda logo at the top. The face isn't overly large, measuring appox 3cm. It is quite understated and I think this adds to the overall appeal of the watch. This watch is not waterproof and to be honest even though it claims to be water resistant I wouldn't take the chance. I wouldnt like to get condensation in the face or ruin it. I would remove the watch before showering swimming or washing the dishes, but that is just me. The watch does come with a small booklet so it is advisable to read that for better instructions. Care instructions are given in there and it has a two year guarantee. This does not include loss of diamonds though, as I was offered additional insurance for these, which I declined. Price: This watch was a really reasonable £39.99, which in my opinion is worth it as its a great looking watch. Performance: I have been wearing this watch consistently for 8 months now with no problems, it works well, is reliable, robust, comfortable and attractive. What more do you want from a watch?? If your looking for a bright and fun time piece, I would certainly give these a look.
Watches are something I don't buy very often but I do have to have one for work and when my last one bit the dust after only a couple of months (it was only a cheap Asda one), I decided to splash out a little and go for one that would hopefully last a bit longer. I went for the Sekonda Ladies Party watch in black for a number of reasons; it's from a reputable brand, it looks quite pretty and it wasn't too expensive. The watch is available in a number of different colours, including purple, white and turquoise, but the one I went for is the black as I thought it would be more suitable for wearing with different outfits and it a bit more understated so suitable for work. Looks wise it is very pretty - the face is the same colour as the strap and the dial is lined with crystals so it is sparkly and suitable for nights out (hence the name 'Party Watch'). I don't think the sparkle is too much though - I am not an over the top, bling-tastic kind of person and I love it - but more it is quite classic looking with just a bit of glamour. The hands on the face are silver and there are just four numbers - twelve, three, six and nine, written in script type writing which I think looks really in keeping with the watch. Size wise, the face has a diameter of 31 millimetres, which is not too big. I have very thin wrists and it fits perfectly on mine. This adds to the understated glamour of it in my opinion because it is not one of these big chunky watches that seem to be all the rage these days. The strap is 15 millimetres wide, so it is in proportion to the face. The strap is made of silicon which makes it extremely comfortable. It seems to bend and stretch as I move my arm so that I don't even know it is there. This comfort is helped by the fact that it is light weight (only 32 grams). I was a bit worried at first that the silicon would make my wrist a bit sweaty underneath the watch as I have had this problem in the past with this type of material, but it has not been the case at all. I also think that the silicon strap makes it more durable. Mine gets battered and bruised at work and it still looks as new as the day I bought it. It has a traditional buckle fastening so it is easy to use and adjust. There are plenty of holes in the strap so there is plenty of scope for adjusting the size. The watch isn't waterproof but is water resistant up to ten metres. I would recommend taking it off before going in water though (even in the shower) because I have had watches that claim to be water resistant but that get a layer of condensation inside the glass on the face when you go in water with them, which is almost impossible to get rid of. It is easier just to take it off! Having said that, the watch does come with a two year manufacturer's warrantee in case anything goes wrong with it. The little instruction leaflet that comes with the watch advises you not to spray perfume on the wrist that you'll be wearing the watch as it can cause some discolouration of the strap. I have inadvertently sprayed perfume directly onto my watch and there have been no problems, however I do know a couple of people that have had problems with the lighter coloured ones - especially the white. One of my friend's white watch has actually gone slightly pink on the strap where she got perfume on it - so do take care. Price wise, I got mine for £25 from duty free shopping at the airport. They are currently available from Amazon for £24.99 including free postage. This is a really good price for the watch and makes it good value for money since it is so durable. Overall I would have no hesitation in recommending this watch as it is durable but still very pretty, suitable for almost all occasions and very reasonably priced.
