“ Brand: Guess / Watches For: Women „
When I was a child I always had a funky wristwatch with a gaudy strap. I loved them, and got through a couple a year sometimes. This was not because they were substandard in quality or that I was particularly physical in my treatment of them, but simply because I enjoyed experimenting with the different styles available. For a long time after that however, I resisted the idea of a wearing a watch as I found it a hindrance on my arm. Bracelet watches do appeal to me however, as they can be very feminine in appearance (my tastes have altered somewhat!) and thus not too cumbersome. The watch is fashioned from stainless steel links, which are joined in such a way that they manage to appear delicate without being flimsy. The links are ribbed, so that light plays over their surface to give a feeling of depth and to emphasise their lustrous finish. There is a clasp on the reverse side of the watch. This is a simple mechanism that pops open and closes again to give a secure grip. I have never experienced any problems with the clasp in terms of it working its way undone, even when it has become caught up in the fabric of my blouse and jacket sleeve. As well as being very stylish and elegant, the watch is discreet. Band width is a mere 18mm, so although the watch is statement-making it is thus on a small scale, which suits my preference when it comes to jewellery. The watch face is comprised of four small rectangles of mineral crystal that mark the numbers twelve, three, six and nine. These indicators shimmer beautifully when the light hits them, and they are the perfect size so that while you do not have to squint to see them they are not overly bold, either. Similarly, the dial is fashioned from stainless steel and is slim enough to compliment the overall look of the watch, yet remain visible from a distance. Cleaning the watch can be somewhat problematic due to the intricate texturing of the links, but you can achieve a great deal with a couple of cotton buds. I have owned this watch for three years, and while I wear it only occasionally it has never sustained any damage, either to the links or to the face. I do store the watch in its case though, for extra security. I purchased this watch for £82, and have always found it to be a reliable model that I have received a lot of compliments for wearing. It has never stopped or stalled or been affected by water damage. Indeed, with a water resistance depth of thirty metres you could go paddling while wearing it - although I would personally choose not to do so! Similarly, with a warranty of two years you are given peace of mind as to the watch's quality. This is a beautiful, understated piece of jewellery that is versatile to a great many outfits, and is certain to serve you well for many years.
Guess ladies watch Just after my wedding my husband bought me a gift, I was surprised and pleased to find that it was this gorgeous watch. I have a problem finding a watch that I like because I can be quite sensitive to a lot of metals, this watch is made from a high quality stainless steel that is good for people like me. So far I having been wearing this watch for several month now and it has never irritated my skin as cheaper watches have a tendency to do. --The Watch-- This watch is more for style and beauty than functionality, with a lovely analogue clock face. Of course it tells the time and it does that well, but the clock face is really quite small and because it is rectangular in shape it is sometimes difficult to narrow that time down to specific minutes. It is really easy to tell all the major time marks thou, such as quarter past, half past or quarter to the hour. It would require more of an estimate to work something like 18 minutes past the hour. Adjusting the watch to your individual preference is very simple. It is really easy to remove a link from the band, you can do this yourself and don't need to visit a jeweller. It is just a case of unclasping one of the links (they are extremely easy to use fold over clasps). For anyone with bigger wrists this is a great watch because it is a big band, I choose to leave all the links in and I wear this a bit like a bracelet. It moves all around my wrist and is very loose but personally I like how this looks. If you are buying this as a gift it does come in a rather lovely guess packaging, a bright red box that looks like a shopping bag. --Some specific details-- Case Diameter:18 millimetres Case Thickness:9 millimetres Band Width:18 millimetres Item weight:60 grams Movement:Japanese Quartz Water Resistant Depth:30 metres --The Cost-- This is quite a pricey watch typically retailing around the £85 mark, however, watches are like jewellery this is expensive to me but it might be nowhere near expensive to another person. For the price tag of this watch you do get something that looks attractive, is functional and feels even more expensive than it is. --My overall opinion-- I love my watch so I am going to give this five out of five stars. I think that it is a beautiful watch but also it is a lovely piece of jewellery. It's good that it does provide quite a big band, because some ladies watches can be a bit tight and anyone that has slightly bigger wrists can be uncomfortable. It is a modern looking and beautiful watch.
