      wouldnt get another

This is my review of the G-shock watch by casio, although there is one important thing i should mention before I begin. I was bought this as a present from a relative in another country. I know for a fact in this country there are a lot of "fakes" of all sorts of things, and although my watch seemed exactly the same as what I saw online, I cannot be sure it was not a fake (so sorry if that is a problem), and I never asked where they got it from or how much it was (it would just be rude), but lets assume I got the official watch. Ok, so the G shock is a normal digital watch, with a few handy features. Firstly, it is covered in a sort of rubberised coating. It makes the watch feel very rugged, and it feels pretty indestructible (it certainly is waterproof!) Sadly though, ultimately my watches screen broke (can't remember how it happened, but I was pretty disappointed). In all fairness I had the watch for 2-3 years or something, but i just expected better from a watch that is so expensive because it is rugged. I have had my current watch for four years (and ok yes its made by jeep, but it was only 20 or so pounds compared to 40-50 quid this watch will set you back, and yes bits of it have fallen off etc, but it still works as a watch). This watch also has solar power or something. I was never sure if this was a con or not (well, the batteries never ran out, but batteries never seem to run out in watches for me???). Also, as at the time i used to always wear long sleeve, i doubted how much light was actually getting to the watch. Furthermore on my watch there was just some weird flashing icons near where it said solar polar, I am not too sure what this meant. The styling on this watch is pretty immense though. It looks like some sort of gizmo out of transformers or something. And it is practical, stopwatches, night light, all easy to find in the dark. Its also really weather proof, but bear in mind the screen is still as fragile as most watches (i think when i broke it, i whacked it whilst swimming or something on the tiles of a swimming pool screen first? To be honest it was a while ago). Would i buy another? In simple, no, because I don't really wear watches anymore, I use a watch clipped to my belt (because I am fed up of my wrist going all pale and weird because of the fact I never take of my watch. But if you are an outdoors person, who needs a really waterproof watch, this is a serious contender. But as it is not really for me, I give is 2/5 stars
