      Lovely watch from ASOS

I like watches and have quite a few of them, most of them comparatively cheap 'fashion' watches as opposed to expensive designer watches. The watch I am about to review is no exception. I came across this vintage-style watch while browsing the ASOS website a few months ago. I'd already purchased an ASOS watch the year before, which I really liked, so decided to buy this one when I had a discount code. Even at full price, however, I thought it was great value for money at only £20. I had it delivered around Christmas time and have worn it several times since. The watch is described as a vintage style watch and has a traditional analogue movement. It has a dark green leather-look strap made of 100% polyurethane and an oval face with a silver-coloured surround. It fastens with a silver-coloured pin buckle. The watch face has an etched peacock design which reminds me of eighteenth-century designs. The watch is very pretty and unusual. It isn't waterproof and you are supposed to avoid contact with liquids. I was really impressed when I first saw the watch - it looked to be of high quality and I thought it looked more expensive than it was. It has maintained its appearance and the silver-coloured metal is still as shiny as it was to begin with, while the watch face has not been scratched and the strap has not been marked. The strap is very thin, but it shows no signs of weakening or breaking, though this may happen in the long term. The watch is so cheap though that this hardly matters. The watch is small and delicate - as mentioned the strap is very thin, and the watch face is small to match. Though I certainly couldn't be described as a slim person, I do have comparatively slim wrists and I think the watch suits me - it might not look as good on someone with thicker wrists. The watch has seven holes and I usually wear it on the third hole. Therefore unless your wrists are absolutely huge it should fit you. This is a fashion watch, and like many fashion watches it can be slightly difficult to tell the time, as the face and hands are both silver-coloured. I have good eyesight (so long as I am wearing my contact lenses, that is!) and sometimes have trouble seeing what time it is, particularly in the dark as the watch doesn't have a light of its own, and there aren't any numerals at all. This doesn't bother me as I would hardly expect it of a watch of this style, but it may bother some people. I can't comment on how long the battery lasts, as I haven't had to change it yet - this could hardly be expected after three months. The watch seems to keep time well and accurately. Overall I highly recommend this watch. It is pretty and unusual, and goes particularly well with vintage-style clothing. It is also very high quality considering the price. It is currently on offer at ASOS.com for only £16 so snap it up while you can!
