I had a Dyson hoover a year or so ago but it just stopped working for no reason which disappointed me as they're meant to be high quality hoovers. I did not have the budget to just buy another Dyson and was a bit put off, so I decided to go for another brand that was still a model to deal with pet hairs as I have two cats and a lot of carpet. This hoover by Vax, a brand I came across by chance, I got it in Argos for a really good cheap price and they are a UK brand that specialise in floor cleaning and this model seemed ideal for me.
The hoover is an upright one and comes in a bright green colour and does look quite similar to a Dyson with the clear cylinder so you can see al of the collected dust. It comes with two tubes for different cleaning, a hose and tools to help with all cleaning situations. It is a bagless hoover and is very lightweight and easy to move around. It has a 6m cord for plugging in and going further distance and has a 1.8m hose and is 1600W with 3 litre capacity. The colour is different but nice and bright and it looks very modern with the logo right on the front.
The hoover is very easy to set up and use, it is 8kg in weight and as soon as you plug the hoover in it is noisy but it is really easy to move and has powerful suction picking up everything in its way. The cylinder I always empty every time as it does fill up quickly, especially being the pet model as it is taking all of the hairs in its path to make the carpet cleaner. The filter is inside and all of the dust comes out easily just by tapping it and it usually all just empties right away.
The cable is long enough being 6m long as plugged in it will always reach around every room without any problems as well as always being near to a socket at that distance. The carpets look really clean and you can use the hose on lino flooring as well and it seems to suck up the hairs well. With pet hoovers you want to ensure this as hairs cover the carpet so quick but with this hoover just running this along it a few times the carpet will be back to being almost hairless apart from the odd few but a big improvement is noticeable.
The button to turn it on is at the bottom so it is very easy to click on with your foot. The force is so extreme on this hoover that it does blow a lot of air out while in use, causing paper to fly off the table etc. It comes with a brush attachment which you can use for cleaning to assist you. The hose is also easy to attach and detach when you need to use it. The power doesn't cut out on this which makes a change as past hoovers I have had would always overheat but this does everything at once.
The hoover having a flat front is good for getting into corners and taking away the dust but obviously for more narrow areas you will have to use the hose instead. Overall, I'd say this is a really good hoover, it cleans very well and it does the job and for a fraction of the price of a Dyson. It is straightforward to start using and assembling it at first is easy enough to follow ie. screwing the handle on and attaching the hose as it is not built when you buy.
The Hoover can be bought in a few places Amazon sell it for £64.99 through one of their sellers. Argos is where I got mine and it cost me £50 I think but it does not seem to be in stock at the moment so Amazon is your best bet.
