“ Manufacturer: Hoover / Design: Cylinder / Bagless / Watts: 2000 „
Having moved into our 1st house we needed a hoover, having never bought one before I presumed that the higher the watts the better the power. Also as this one was suitable for pets then I thought it must be pretty good to get up all the hairs. As an added bonus at the time this one was on offer at £60 in Comet.
On the plus side it is nice and compact, looks nice, easy to use and was cheap. However that is about all it had going for it. As a hoover it was useless!
The sucking power from it was weak. At the time we didn't own a pet and both being at work didn't notice too much how truly awful it was. When we got our cat however we soon noticed that this hoover was picking up practically no cat hair! As I have long hair too and also 'molt' then I was gathering a very large collection of hair, esp in the bedroom. In fact when I lied on the floor it almost looked like the carpet was made from hair! I hoovered the room 3 times that wknd and in the end gave up and went round on me hands and knees with a roll of sellotape to get up all the hair! By this point I was fuming and really fed up with this hoover.
That is not all though. One day, about 1-2 months after we brought it, it stopped working. My partner took it back to the shop and they said we would have to call an engineer to look at, but we should 1st check the filter to see if that needed cleaning. To be fair it was the filter and once cleaned and dried it workd again. However from that point on we had to wash the filter almost every 2 weeks! A complete inconvenience and not what I would expect to need to do with a hoover so often.
Then the back filter cover fell off! It looked like it had warped from the heat of the hoover and would not fix back on. Again. I would not expect this to happen.
Finally after only having the hoover for about 9 months it packed up entirely. Cleaning the filters did nothing neither did changing the plug. To be honest it was a blessing I wanted rid of that hoover! I was tired at having to pick up hair with sellotape! We didn't bother calling an engineer so I can't comment on this service. We went straight out and brought a dyson. This Dyson has a lower wattage but the power is amazing, it is just what a hoover should be and picks up all the hairs!
All I can say is don't waste your money, this is not deisgned for pets or any house that experiences any form of dirt!
