I have loved L'Occitane ever since I received a gift bag from a friend a few years ago. The brand always has high quality products, and I've had shower gels, soaps, shower oils, body creams, hand creams and face creams. I thought I would try these towelettes out as they were new and I trust L'Occitane to be good quality. I bought the towelettes off of the website for £7. There are 15 towelettes in the packet, and it is a resealable packet. The packaging is very well designed, as always with L'Occitane. It is a dull silver wrapper with an olive green and beige resealing sticker, which has a lovely font and layout. The sticker works very well, and always reseals, which is good as I've found that some of the stickers on wet towels do not seal back on and become less sticky over time, drying out the towels. The towels themselves have a lemony scent and are very refreshing to use. You feel very cleansed and they give a slight lemony scent to the skin. They can be used on both hands and body and are very useful for travel. The skin feels very soft and moisturised, which is good as some wipes can leave skin feeling dry. I have found that the towels run out rather quickly however, as there are only 15 in the packet and I tend use them a lot when out and about. That does make them rather expensive for the price too, as for £3 I can get about 50 wipes from a normal store. A really lovely product, really nice to use but are rather expensive, not an 'essential' I would buy regularly.
L'OCCITANE VERBENA REFRESHING TOWELETTES -------------------------------------------------------------------------- L'Occitane products are very dear to my heart because not only do I adore the area in France where they are made, but also cherish the beautiful entry they always do for the Chelsea Flower Show every year. Their products are beautifully scented and are always delightfully packaged, and their shops are a real treat if you are lucky enough to live close to one. Sadly their items do carry a hefty price tag, so I only own one or two of them, and of these I own I have several favourites that I re-purchase time and time again. One of these is the Verbena Refreshing Towelettes which always come with me when I travel so lets take a look at them in detail. Retailing for £7 for 15 from L'Occitane themselves these are an indulgent treat. I actually buy mine from Ebay where there is a very trusted seller - Tropicanauk who sells these for £7.95 with free postage. I love this seller and she often encloses little samples in the package which are a joy to receive. They are sold as being "Delicately perfumed with citrus scented Verbena, these Refreshing Towelettes cleanse and perfume the hand and body. Easy to carry, they can be used all day long and are ideal for travel. 100% biodegradable towelettes." I would say this is an accurate description of these towelettes. The packet measures 5 ½ by 3" and there is a pull flap which facilitates easy opening and safe storage for the remaining towelettes after use. The packaging is an attractive sage green and silver and looks very special. Being so compact it easily fits into a handbag. On removing the towelettes there is a beautiful fresh lemon scent and the towelettes are a rectangular shape measuring 8" by 5". They are very well made, and although have a soft and quite flimsy thin feel to them, they do not break when used and are strong. What I particularly love about these is that they last well in the packet after opening remaining moist and fragrant, which allows me to purchase them to use when travelling and then to have them to hand for subsequent trips. These are just so lovely to use to freshen up on aeroplanes or on car journeys, and are especially refreshing in heat. The fragrance lingers too so you can enjoy fresh and perfumed hands for longer. I also carry a small bottle of the matching hand cream with me on long journeys, which intensifies the fragrance for a couple more hours, and is ideal as it also leaves hands soft and conditioned. Reading the reviews of these on the L'Occitane website itself one contributor said that she had used these for washing in Mongolia when there was no running water or facilities, so I think that is testament to their appeal! You can certainly use them on your body as well, so for a quick freshen up for example when camping these are ideal- so great for festivals. I wouldn't use these on a daily basis as they are very dear compared to wipes that you can pick up inexpensively. However they are absolutely perfect for long journeys and they are one of my favourite travelling companions. They have a beautiful summer scent which is so uplifting. Sadly some of my favourite discounters online such as Feel Unique and Escentual don't seem to stock these, although they are official L'Occitane stockists, which is a shame as I think they would be able to undercut the price a little to make them more affordable. I am also very pleased to learn that these are biodegradable as well so fine for the environment. This is an area where L'Occitane really excel as they are very careful to act ethically. These are certainly something I recommend for anyone who makes journeys, especially on public transport, and for anyone who attends festivals or goes camping. These wipes are an indulgent treat and a passport to summer freshness.
