      Remote controlled car

Fact, all boys love cars! and they love them even more if they are remote controlled cars. My husband bought this remote controlled car for our little boy and I think he loves it just as much as my son. I know some remote controlled cars can be a bit tricky and difficult and have lots of buttons and they are very hard to control but what I really like about this car is that its actually aimed at preschool kids and so its very simple and basic but fun. My husband has a helicopter that is so difficult he can't even get it off the ground so I don't really see the fun in a toy like that but this toy is perfect. The car itself is actually quite big and bulky but I like that as its a nice toy for toddlers and pre toddlers and even though its big its actually quite light so its quite easy for my little boy to pick it up and move it around and reposition it. The car is a bright red colour and so very eye catching and has quite a cool, sportscar shape to it so it looks sleek and like a car you would dream to own. There's not much detailing to it, it has quite big yellow wheels and a yellow spoiler at the back and that is about it. The nice thing about the spoiler is that there is a space between it and the back of the car so you can lift the car up by this spoiler and move the car around if you wish. The car has an on/off switch on the bottom and obviously you need to switch it to on to activate it and get the remote to work in conjunction with it. The remote is again, quite simple but perfect for little hands to hold and only contains a few buttons. My son took to this remote so easily and the nice thing is its really easy to control and move the car and he loves seeing the car move because of something he is doing and pressing himself. The remote is round and has an ariel poking up from it. The remote contains just five buttons, two arrow buttons that move the car forward or backwards and make a beep noise when you press the back button and an acceleration noise when you press the forward button. Ok, so the car really only goes forward and backwards but at aged one, what else do you really need or want the car to do. There is also a key button which makes the noise of a car starting, a steering wheel button which makes a noise like you are putting the foot on the gas and a horn button. One word of warning, once you are finished playing with this car, make sure to turn the on/off switch off otherwise, hours later the car will make a brumm brumm noise and really frighten you! The sound effects of this remote controlled car are great, the movement is good and for a small boys toy which costs just £19.99 I think its a lot of fun.

A great first remote control car

Harry was a very lucky boy at Christmas and was given lots of fabulous Christmas presents. He does a few favourites out of all the toys he received, and this remote control car is definitely one of his favourites as it's played with daily by him. It was a present from my brother's girlfriend (who apparently had lots of fun shopping for it in Toys R Us!), and considering she didn't have a clue what to buy a 3 year old boy, she did really well with this choice, and Harry is thrilled with it! He actually got to open it Christmas Eve so she could unwrap it with him, and his face said it all, he loved it! The toy is part of Toys R Us' own brand of toys Bruin. These toys can only be bought in Toys R Us or on their online shop. This car is quite big which is good for toddlers because they don't want someting small they can't see very well. The car is a bright colour with yellow wheel caps and a yellow spoiler, so its nice and bright which makes it appeal even more to young children. It is unisex being red and yellow, but is probably aimed more at car mad boys . The remote control matches the car, is bright red with yellow buttons and a long antenna. The car takes 4 AAA batteries which you have to buy separately. The car itself is great. You switch it on with the button situated on the underside of the car (we turn it off inbetween uses to save the battery life) which Harry can do himself and then it's ready to go. You control the car with the control, and its quite quick. The control only has forward and backward buttons, there is no steering involved as its aimed at younger children but Harry seems happy enough with this. It does curve slightly to the left when you reverse it so it is possible to change direction but it takes a while doing it this way! Harry's happy enough running to it and turning it around himself which is good. It's fairly noisy because of the size of the car and motor inside to power it, but other than that we are really pleased with it. Harry has lots of fun whizzing it about the place and it doesn't half go some when it gets going, and Harry enjoys seeing it race along. It doesn't have a brake function so beware that your skirting boards might take a bit of a bashing when your little one smacks it into them at full force, but Harry is getting better at slamming it into reverse to stop it from hitting the walls which is quite good of him!! The remote is nice and simple to use. It has large buttons with good pictures on to make it child friendly, and Harry seemed to pick it up very quickly. There are forward and backward buttons on either side of the round control, a horn button in the middle which makes a horn sound when pressed, an engine start button and a steering sound button that sounds like screeching tyres when you press it. All the sounds come from the control so your child can hear them no matter how far away the car is. If you have a car mad toddler, then this would definitely make a great present for them. I didn't know Kirsty had bought Harry this, so I was really impressed that she picked out such a great present for him, and he definitely loves her all the more for it. Harry enjoys being in control of the car and seeing it respond to his commands via the remote control. He's getting more co-ordinated now with pressing the buttons and looking at what the car is doing as he doesn't have to stare so hard at the remote to concentrate. The batteries last well too, we put 4 new batteries in Christmas day and they are still going strong. It's a great toy, very robust and plenty of fun, so comes with a recommendation from Harry too! This car is currently half price in stores and online for £14.99 from £29.99 which is a great price for this toy, and I would highly recommend it for toddlers. Suitable for ages 3+ Thank you for reading.
