I bought this toaster from Amazon for £16.99 which seems to be the average price, although since buying it I have seen it for £13.99 online. This toaster has two slots which are wide enough for thick bread, crumpets and also teacakes which are a favourite of mine. It works equally well with any thickness of bread as the grip changes to whatever you put in there when you press the lever down and it toasts whatever you put in very evenly. There is a high lift feature which lifts whatever you are toasting up very high so you never have to put your fingers anywhere near to the actual toaster.
The body of the toaster is black with a silver panel running all the way round the bottom and I think it looks very neat and stylish and would look good in any kitchen. It has a knob at the side of the toaster where you change the settings from 1 to 6 so everyone should be able to get their perfect shade of toast. When I use it I will set it to 3 or 4 for toast and 2 for teacakes as I like them quite lightly toasted, but my husband likes his toast very dark and so will set it to 6. The only thing is with a few people using different settings you need to check before you use it as you could be disappointed if you forget and then don't watch the toaster closely.
There is also a defrost button for those times when you forget to take your bread out of the freezer and a reheat button which I find useful and I find that as well as reheating the toast this feature crisps it up again if it has gone a bit soggy if it has been left for a while before buttering it. It has a large removable crumb tray which is easily slid out from underneath but in all honesty at work this is only usually emptied when the crumbs start to appear on the worktop! It also has a cancel button if you change your mind when you have started toasting and it has a non slip base for extra safety.
It came with an instruction booklet and a twelve month guarantee and I can say that this little toaster works very well and is reliable. Although it is only a two slice toaster the two slots are quite wide and you can fit a large slice of bread sideways into it unlike some smaller toasters where you have to put the bread in longways and then have to turn it over halfway through the toasting. A great toaster for everyday use and I do recommend it.
