The brewhouse theatre is Taunton's local theatre and first opened in 1977. There is one main audotorium that seats about 350, there is also a gallery which is host to many an exhibition, a studio which is used for workshops and there is also a cafe/bar. The Brewhouse it is situated in the town centre just off from the river and Della's Wharf. Despite this being a small scale local theatre some of the performances and companies attracted to the theate are amazing, there has been some amazing performances at this theatre. As well as traditional theatrical productions of plays, musicals and pantomime the theatre is also host to live bands and clasical concerts. The theatre attracts a wide range of people and the local College and community drama groups also hosts some of it's performances there. During the winter (christmas season) months there is always an ice rink outside the Brewhouse, this is set up by the local council in conjunction with the brewhouse. This ties in with Pantomime season so this can make a great days out. The theatre has good diabled access and also special seats set aside for those with dificulties. So anybody looking for something 'arts' related then the Brewhouse theatre is the place to go.
