Brilliant set if you get one with an IPS panel.

I bought one of these before TV prices shot up. It's a brilliant set, with one exception - panel lottery - some sets have high quality IPS panels, others are inferior - so this review doesn't isn't a guarantee that you'll get the same quality panel I got in my TV.

With this out the way, this is an excellent TV. Viewing angles are superb on the IPS version - colours are brilliant, blacks are rich - in fact - the only thing you can fault with the picture is the 50Hz response rate - which results in some occasional jittery images - especially if they're detailed. If you have a tendency to be bothered by things like this you might be better with a 'MotionFlow' set over this; the picture is still excellent however.

The backlight on our model is very consistent with the exception of an almost un-noticeable strip of bleed - it was very almost uniform. Sound is pretty damn good for a TV also; nothing you get with newer LED models.

Lastly, menus are well laid out with a nice transparency effect. The TV has lots of nice small features - like turning on when your PS3 turns on, or being able to play music and whatnot off my external hard drive - it even recognizes NTFS - it does however sometimes have A/V sync issues with some HD files.

All in all, I'd thoroughly recommend this set if you can get it for the usual retail price of £260.

      Impressive TV for the price

The price of televisions has fallen rapidly in the last few years, allowing the average Joe to purchase a decent set for under £400. Today I'm putting Samsung's LE-32C530 through its paces - it's a thirty-two inch LCD which has become a popular choice due to its solid performance and meagre price-tag. The TV is capable of a full HD output - meaning that should you connect it to your blu-ray player (or other high definition source), you'll be able to watch films in glorious 1080p.

      DESIGN + PRICE & AVAILABILITY
      - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
In terms of appearance, the LE-32C530 is quite a looker - its black glossy screen is matched by a similarly glossy surround which makes the TV one of the prettiest budget LCDs on the market. The TV comes complete with an easy to fit stand - yes, there are three or four screws to add, but the process is quick and simply illustrated in the manual. Round the back there are plenty of connections to satisfy those with an input fetish - there's the obligatory SCART socket, three HDMI ports, plus Component and Composite Video input, Digital Audio Out (Optical), and a DVI Audio In mini jack. One of the television's handy features is what's known as the 'Connect Share' - here you can instantly display pictures and videos from a digital camera via the televisions USB input. All you have to do is plug a USB stick (or your camera's USB cable) into the TV, and you can view your photos and movies immediately.

Setting up the TV is a doddle, simply switch it on and it will ask you whether you want to begin an automatic search for channels - click yes, and around two minutes later you should be up and running with a full selection of Freeview TV and Radio stations to choose from. Price-wise, the LE-32C530 can be currently picked up from Amazon for £295.76 - a price which I feel represents very good value for money considering the fact that it's a set from a big name brand. That said, the TV's price has risen recently, as when I bought it I paid around twenty pounds less.

      PICTURE QUALITY
      - - - - - - - - - - - -
By default, the Samsung's picture is set up quite aggressively - i.e, it's too bold and bright with oversaturated colours and maximum contrast. However, with a little tinkering a subtle yet impressive result can be achieved. Take the contrast down a little, decrease the saturation and the backlight - and the picture comes closer than you would expect to a high end LED model. The integrated Freeview tuner (non-HD) returns excellent results, up-scaling images with an impressive clarity and demonstrating a fluidity of motion. Samsung's 'Wide Colour Enhancer' is supposed to "create a vibrant and accurate spectrum straight out of the box" - although I found that the colours were a little inaccurate before I had a chance to adjust the settings. For a LCD model, black levels are very good (assuming you haven't set the backlight too high), providing a real depth to the picture which is great for movies.

      AUDIO QUALITY & THE REMOTE
      - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Overall, I would describe the Samsung's sound quality as 'acceptable' - however, it's certainly not as good as my other LCD TV's audio output (a Sony Bravia) due to the fact that it lacks any real presence at the bassier end of the spectrum. What I can say is that the sound is certainly 'clear', and spoken word comes across very well indeed. Of course Samsung have provided an option to fiddle with the sound presets, and turning the bass up from the default setting does help things along somewhat - however, at the end of the day the speakers will be simply too small to satisfy the audiophiles amongst you. That said, for an older person who craves clarity of speech rather than rumbling explosions and music videos, the TV is certainly good enough.

The remote isn't the prettiest that I've seen, but it features large clear buttons and is generally intuitive to use - even my 90 year old gran finds it easy to operate. It takes two AAA batteries (included) which seem to last a long time before needing to be replaced.

SAVING THE PLANET? + FINAL WORD
      - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
In regard to the telly's eco credentials, the LE-32C530 claims to use 30% less power than the last generation of Samsung's LCD models, and is produced using environmentally-friendly materials. There's a range of eco settings too - for example the 'Eco Sensor' which measures the intensity of the room's light and automatically calibrates the brightness of the screen accordingly. That said, you have to actively switch on the eco settings, as by default they are set to off.

Overall, I would highly recommend the Samsung LE-32C530 as an excellent budget LCD television which certainly outperforms its small price-tag. Not only is a pleasant machine to look at, but it's also easy to use and built to a high standard. The only real weakness is the audio output, which although clear, doesn't have an especially good range. Nevertheless, the great picture quality combined with the television's ease of use makes this budget 32" wonder arguably the best LCD for its price - highly recommended.

A great television that I'm enjoying watching!

I recently bought one of these Samsung LE32C530 LCD televisions from Currys. I did not have any model in mind when I entered the store but after seeing the picture quality, model appearance and model specifics I opted for this. It was not the cheapest model available in store and was £349 but I felt it was worth paying the extra because of the model's features. It is the first Samsung model I have ever had, having previously had a Sony model that had gradually turned dark.

The television comes boxed and you can either mount in on a wall or erect the stand. This is a two person job as you need to lift the television up onto the stand once it's assembled, rather than slide it on sideways. Otherwise the assembly is a reasonably quick and easy job although you will need a cross shaped screwdriver and there are about seven screws you need to fit.

The model is very attractive looking. The front edge of the television and the stand is black and has a high shine. There is a little transparent lip at the bottom of the screen where there is a remote control sensor on the right hand side. It looks far slimmer and slicker than my old model television. One thing I have to say about the TV is that the stand and around the screen is very prone to static. I have a chimney shack in my front room which can generate a bit of dust and this television needs dusting frequently. You are provided with a special cloth to clean the television which looks and feels like a spectacle cleaning cloth. I find wiping alone with this cloth does the trick but you can also dampen the cloth with water (no cleaning products allowed) as well.

Currys offered me support to install the television but I assumed I could do it myself. I was right. It's a very easy set-up job. There is a quick set up guide manual as well as a more detailed set up guide in the comprehensive user manual. Once you have connected your equipment (like DVD/blu-ray player etc) to the television you just need to switch it on and it automatically starts a set up process. There is a full guide to using the buttons on the remote controller to operate the menu on the television so it's really easy to be able to select the options during set up. The television searches for channels either via an air antenna or cable setting then stores them.

The television has a start up and turn off 'jingle' sound - rather like the way a computer or a phone plays a tuneful signal when switching on/off. It's only a two note tune so it's not annoying but it can sound quite loud sometimes.

I found that I had to fiddle with the picture settings to get the look I wanted as on basic settings it is very sharp looking and the way the television deals with the changing image can make the outlines of images look a bit blurry and wavy. If you have this issue just tweak the picture options a little bit by reducing sharpness and it fixes it. I'm really impressed by the standard of the picture quality though on all channels, on watching DVDs and using the Media Play options to view computer videos and photos.

When choosing this television I was impressed by the fact that it has 3 HDMI ports as well as a scart socket. It also has a 'component in' panel. It has a USB port which I love using as I can share media with family and friends. The Media Play screen is automatically activated when you insert a USB device. This only takes a few seconds. From there you can opt to view video, music or picture files. You can also attach a PC to the television and use it like a giant PC monitor. The user manual gives helpful and clear advice about how to connect devices like this.

The connection panel on the television is situated at the right side of the television if you were looking at the front of the screen and it also has ports along the right side. It's really easy to acess all of the sockets as they are on the middle of the back of the model rather than hidden underneath a lip or anything. Two HDMI ports on the back and one on the side next to the common interface slot.

Samsung use a system called Anynet+ which means if you have any other Samsung product they can all be operated using the same remote and are automatically aligned to one another. I do not have any other Samsung products but I am tempted to buy them now as I like the sound of the system.

The television's sound quality is good and it has a crisp, clear clarity. I do sometimes feel like the sound is coming from a place behind the television though - as if the sound is a bit tinny and trapped within the model rather than projecting outwards. I have been thinking about whether it might be worth getting some external speakers to achieve a more surround sound feel. I mean there is nothing wrong with the sound - it's perfectly audible and very clear but as I say it feels very much contained around the screen and I'd prefer to feel surrounded by sound as if in a cinema. You can actually change the tone of the sound according to what you are watching but after trying this I still found my problem to exist. There are modes including 'music mode' which emphasises music over voice and 'movie mode' for watching films. There is also a 'clear voice' option which makes voice sounds clearer than background noises. There is also a feature which amplifies sound for the hearing impaired although I have a family member who uses a hearing aid and they don't need to use this option as the sound is already so clear for them.

I am very happy with the television so far and I am enjoying being able to watch programs in such high quality picture resolution. I would recommend this television to anyone as I feel it is definitely worth the money.

I love this TV, it has made gaming so much easier and a better experience for me.

My parents bought me this TV as a one-off and I LOVE IT! The picture quality is outstanding and you won't be unimpressed with the sound on this either. This TV is great if you are a gamer or a movie lover, the screen is big enough so you can catch every detail no matter how minor it is, but not to big that it gets in your way while moving around. I play a lot of games so I found this brilliant when I got it and still do especially as it is in HD. Even the remote has got a quick selection to the HDMI setting which I find very useful.

My TV is wall mounted in my bedroom it is quite heavy so if you are going to wall mount it I would advise getting somebody else to help you lift it up. Personally I think it would work extremely well downstairs in a small living or dining room on the stand which is supplied with it.

It contains 3 HDMI ports and 1 USB port.

The menu for the TV settings takes a bit of getting used to at first but once you get the hang of it it is very simple to go through. The thing that makes it difficult is what buttons you have to press to get where and also where to find the section you are looking for.

I have had this TV for just over 3 months and feel that it is very good for it's money, it does contain freeview as it is a modern TV. The TV screen itself is 32" but if you include the frame around it it is about 3-4" bigger. I got mine at a price of around £335.00.

If you're looking to buy a HD TV, please make it this one.

Brought this TV for my sister as a Christmas present! it's up on her wall now and it looks absolutely AMAZING, it's dark, slick and very chic with the transparent bit at the bottom of the TV.

            Make: Samsung
            Model: LE-32C530
            Colour: Black
            Resolution: 1920 x 1080
            Input: HD

The TV comes with all relevant cables and batteries for the remote, setting the TV up is very simple, you do have to set up the free view, but this takes less than a minute, and you're good to enjoy the amazing picture quality.

The first thing you notice is the stand it comes with. You can tilt, turn and point in different directions for easy viewing.

The picture quality on the TV is very sharp with stunning HD viewing.

The great quality and best feature about this TV is that you can insert external hard drive or USBs to the TV and watch or view any films or pictures etc on your TV. Once you insert your device the TV automatically recognises the device and the menu appears on the TV, quick easy and very customer friendly. All my files are mp4 format and it playes these just fine, so i'm sure it will play other formats, but I can't be certain. It's great to watch a slide of our christmas pictures in bigger and better quality than a tiny laptop screen.

The only disadvantage to the TV is that the sound isn't too great, but I think this is the case with most TVs as they have small built in speakers. I think for normal everyday use the sound is perfect, but my sister is a dancer and she watches and learns new dance moves and has the sound very high, so she is thinking of getting external speakers.

This is a GREAT TV, one of the best that's out there, I'm thinking of upgrading my own TV to this.

Did a lot of research on TVs before I decided to get this one. Was not excited about the 120hz TVs; do not like the soap opera/camcorder motion. I was debating if I should get the internet options with the apps on the other models, but I have a PS3 so it wasnt worth paying for the extra features. So I got this 60hz LCD and I have no regrets! The picture this TV produces are amazing, especially on Blu Ray. I watched my New Zealand vacation videos on it and it really brings out the colors and makes my video look even more movie like. Avatar looks amazing on it as well. I got it for $640 and worth every dime.

An awesome tv that handles everything thrown at it.

I thought one of the best things about this TV would be the 3 hdmi ports; my previous TVs didn't have any. This made hooking my laptop up to the TV a bit of a pain as the old style vga input didn't do the sound which meant i had to get speakers to have a film nice and loud. However the hdmi port takes complete care of this (you can get a cable on ebay for a couple of quid) and the picture quality is so much better. However, you won't even need this as the USB input doesn't just show pictures and play music, but it can also handle mp4, avi and mkv files, and literally any format. So if you get yourself an external hard drive, slap all your favourite films and series on that and tuck it behind your tele, you have your own personalised iplayer, 4od or similar. It can even play HD files which are the best thing that this TV boasts. As with the set up: easy. User-friendly? Certainly. This TV is a great size and boasts an awesome picture quality; all this considered I really cannot find any problems with this TV.

A trusted brand delivers another excellent LCD TV

For years and years I have almost exclusively bought Samsung TVs and monitors, given the positive experience with them. I consider it a good and reliable brand.

Exactly one year ago I had to replace the old CRT TV in my living room and I decided to opt for a LCD screen. After all it was the technology everyone was talking about and there were very good offers and deals everywhere. Actually it was almost overwhelming to sift through the dozens of LCD in all the big electronics stores. The usual questions in my mind, to buy or not to buy? Which one will I choose?

Once day I saw this Samsung LE 32C530 a 32" at a very reasonable price so I ask one of the attendants and he told me that due to the fast pace and evolution of these TVs the LED technology of this device was to be considered a little "old"... I had a look around and I noticed that this 32" had the same price of another 26-inch Samsung. But I didn't care about the race for the most cutting edge LED technologies, I watched the screen it was crystal clear and then 32" are perfect for my living room so I decided to buy it.

There were other offers from LCD brands I never heard of and the clerk warned me that a good amount of those TVs would likely give me problems over the time. Conversely he assured me that they never had issues with Samsung and he was right. I got home, installed the LE 32C530, configured and started enjoying my new TV that's still there...

I strongly recommend this product and brand to all fellow dooyooers!

Excellent picture quality and sound. The 50Hz refresh is below average but doesn't distract

Everyone has different criteria when they're looking for a new TV. So to see where I'm coming form here are mine:
            1. At least 32"
            2. Full HD Capable
            4. Good picture
            3. Nice design

            ...all at a good price.

After spending some time researching I narrowed it down to the Samsung LE32C530 and LG 32D450. Crucial to the Samsung were the reviews at Amazon and various forums buzzing with praise for the Samsung - yet I heard nothing like it for the LG.

The Samsung LE32C530 doesn't just meet the criteria it blasts them out of the water. This TV also comes with a great integrated media player.

            Picture
Excellent, what can I say .. just superb, and I've seen a few World Cup games on this TV and everyone was very satisfied. The fact that the LCD "only" has 50Hz (most TV's run above 60Hz) makes itself noticeable occasionally, but not in any way that distracts from viewing.

            Sound
Sound is great and speakers are mounted in the rear of the case. Previously had a 22" LCD by Samsung that didn't have great sound but on this one the sound is excellent and required very little tweaking of the levels to get the perfect setup.

            Gaming
I also have my XBOX 360 connected via HDMI, and it plays great with no lagginess or ghosting.

            Connections
Great set of connectors on this TV so you won't have any problems fitting it to the oldest and newest gadgets in your house.

Amazing TV which everyone should consider buying.

There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this TV. First of all, its pretty cheap, i picked up mine for just over 3200 pounds and it was the greatest investment i have made in a while. When i got it home, being the person who is not technology savvy, i thought it would be difficult to set up, but after looking through the guide books which come with it, i had it set up in 10 minutes, which was great.

After setting the TV up, it was time to try it out with a HD DVD, and when i did, i was blown away. The picture quality is fantastic! I can honestly say that it competes with other TV's costing twice as much. The sound is great as well, but because i already had some speakers, i won't be using the TV's standard sound system.

The greatest thing about this TV is that it has a USB and an SD card slot, which i did not even know TV's had. I love to take photos and video record, so i have several hard drives which i can connect to the TV and watch on the big screen in high quality, instead of on the small laptop screen. The interface is easy to understand, and the TV can play almost all media types, which is a bonus.

Overall it was a great investment, and i am really happy with this TV and i know i will not be changing it anytime soon.

            Happy shopping!
