      Good phone

I really love this phone as I have had it now just over a year. It is a cordless phone which means I can walk around using it. For me this is ideal as when I'm working in the office I can look for files while I chat! It plugs into the base and so charges the phone for you. The phone has an answering machine which you can record your own message onto and this is simple to do just press the silver button in the corner and you're away! Its easy to listen to message as well and there is a green light which will flash when you have a message. Simply press the play button and it will go through the message you can either delete them by pressing the button with a cross by it or just leave it if you want to save the message! You can skip through the messages by pressing the left or right arrow buttons. The quality is not brilliant when people leave messages but Its good enough that you know what people are saying, it can just sometimes sound as though there is a bit of white noise in the back ground. There are also buttons on the base if you want the phone on speaker phone which you can dial from and I was impressed with this as it is very loud and the actual quality of listening to peoples voices is great as the majority of the time it sounds as though they are in the room with you. It has a very good range cover, as I often use it to walk downstairs from my office and can still hear who I am talking to crystal clear! The one drawback with this phone which I have found is that after I had these phone for about 10 months I would press the number buttons and it wouldn't register me pressing it even though it had beeped as though I had pressed it. So id press it a little bit harder but then 2 or 3 of the same number would pop up. It doesn't happen all the time but still it can be frustrating when it does!

Previous --------- We had an Amstrad E-mailer phone, but when (2 weeks after the warranty was over) the screen went blank. Not fixable! So, a decent phone had to be purchased, and why not a cordless one? Performance & Specs ------------------- This phone has a range of 50 Metres indoors, and 300 Metres Outside. This is nice, because I can use it in the garden in summer time. The phone is really two phones, it has a base station which can be used for making calls on. The base station is also the answer machine. Except for answer machine buttons on the base station (and numbers) it is primarily operated remotely from the handset. The answer machine is available by remote access, this means you can call from any tone phone, put in your code, and listen to messages - delete messages etc. Both handset and base station have desk-top handsfree. The handset has a selection of three back-light colours (Red, Orange and Green.) It also has a wide selection of ring tones (jingle bells was used at Christmas last year!). The speech quality is outstanding, and there is an alarm for when you go out of range. The only problem I have encountered with the phone, is the handset batteries are not Panasonic. They are some green things, that say they're fully charged when they are not. The phone sometimes turns itself off when the batteries are 'fully charged?' That said, it is definitely a good purchase, you just need buy a better set of rechargeables.

Finally, the digital cordless DECT phone arrives - like this Panasonic KX-TCD735 - and you can move without buzzing. Apart from improved reception you can also make internal calls from one handset to another and even have conference calls between an external number and two handsets. Panasonic added some of the elements of a mobile phone to the KX-TCD735, so it is small and light. This DECT phone features are 160 hours standby, 20 hours talk time, and a 50 number call log. You can have up to 6 handsets working from the same base unit. This phone also features speakerphone on the handset, backlit LCD-display with choice of 3 background colors, calendar, phonebook for 200 names and numbers, digital answering machine for 15 minutes and second display on the base. This makes the Panasonic KX-TCD735 good for a small to medium business as a fully integrated internal/external phone system.
