      • "Can't walk around on phone"

      I would recommend this.

My gran recently bought this phone, which is very plain and simple looking. It is white, with big buttons on a pad, and the phone is attached to the pad by a cord.
The fact that this phone is corded, to me, looks very old fashioned. In my opinion it looks like a traditional sort of house phone and one I can remember having in my house when I was little.
However, to my gran this phone looks great because it is something she is used to and therefore something she finds comfortable to use. She doesn't have to worry about getting to grips with all the different pieces as really there is only just one piece.
My own house phone is great because it can log on to facebook or take photographs and do a million other things. However my gran would find it way too confusing! This is better for her as it is much simpler.

There is one complicated part to this phone and that is setting up the phone book and caller ID. I had to do this for her and it took me the best part of an hour, using the user guide for assistance. However now that this has been done, the phone lets you know who is calling and there are a few stored numbers which is a great feature.
Some people may prefer a cordless phone so that you can walk around when on the phone to someone. This one has to be placed near a chair so that the person can sit down when on the phone. However there is a benefit to this - you can't lose your house phone! Also, you don't have to worry about charging it all the time.

There is no answer phone on this phone which some people may see as a disadvantage.

      Price
This can be bought from Currys PC world at the low price of just under £20. From searching online I have seen that the phone can also be bought from various other places and usually costs the same which is just less than £20.
For what you get with this phone I think that the price is just right.
      Recommendation
This is loud and clear and we were also told that our version was hearing aid compatible, which may be a worry to some people. The phone wasn't too expensive, has big buttons and although I did spend an hour setting it up, after it was set up it is now really easy to use and I think this makes a great house phone for someone who wants something simpler and more traditional. The fact that this is corded may be a disadvantage to some people but as I have said, this means that you can't lose the phone and that it doesn't run out of battery.
