I bought this talc to take with me when I go swimming because I like to use the talc on my feet and legs so that I can either put my socks back on comfortably or my tights which I do sometime struggle to put on when I have been swimming and my skin is not quite as dry as when I dry myself at home and have more time to allow my skin to dry. If I go swimming with my hubby or grandchildren I don't like to keep them waiting after they have changed and are wanting to head home or go for something to eat. So I bought the talc just to save time so I can dress more quickly. I hadn't bought this talc before so thought I would give it a go.
The talc comes in a plastic bottle with the name very clearly on the front so it can easily be spotted on a shelf. The talc is a fine powder and the grains are very delicate and have a nice soft texture to them. It has no fragrance to it so it can be used by a male if needed too because it doesn't have any smell to it a male doesn't have to worry about it smelling of a feminine scent etc.
It feels really soft on the skin when rubbing it gently into the skin. It leaves a fine dusting on the skin and when touching the skin it feels incredibly soft and smooth. Like all talc brands it can be a little messy when applying it and it does make a mess of the floor if you are not careful applying it. I always take a face flannel and clean up the mess on the floor when I go swimming so the next person to use the cubicle doesn't have to walk onto a load of talc etc.
I find it does leave a slight residue on my tights or socks because I have used the talc on the soles of my feet and my lower legs. I use it in these areas the most when I go swimming so that I can put on my tights easier without them being a struggle to put them on and them all twisting and having to keep taking them off again and trying to put them on correctly. The talc just helps me put my tights on without difficulty and saves time having to put them and struggling. I don't use the talc on the rest of my body when I go swimming and just use it on my feet and legs.
The talc residue is very easy to wash from my tights and socks with no problems at all. It isn't a lot of residue anyway and just a dusting but it is apparent on my clothing.
I don't often use talc when at home but occasionally when I feel like a change from using a body butter or lotion I have used the talc and used it all over my body. It softens the skin perfectly and leaves it feeling soft to the touch. A little goes a long way so you don't need to use a lot of the talc to soften the skin and it rubs into the skin and absorbs really well.
I have found it hasn't irritated my skin or caused any rashes etc and is a nice gentle powder for anyone who has sensitive skin.
For a 250g bottle it cost just £2.10 so a lot of talc for just over 2 pounds and I think it is extremely good value for the price in my opinion. The quality of the talc is really good too.
I really like this talc and I will buy it again in the future as I have bought many times over the years.
I highly recommend this talc if you are looking for a nice one which softens the skin and leaves it nice and smooth and if you have sensitive skin I think it is a super one to buy because it has worked a treat for my sensitive skin.
I give this talc 5 stars.
Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been of some help.
I love this Simple pure fine talc as it is not perfumed or fragranced and I find it very kind to my skin. This bottle is 250g and I bought it from one of the 99p shops which is good value as it currently sells for £2 in Tesco and £2.10 in Boots.
The bottle is very plain and predominantly white with green writing and a green cap. The usual Simple logo is displayed on the front and the instructions for use and ingredients are on the back. You twist the cap which reveals the holes where the talc comes out of. The talc comes out fairly evenly when you shake it but as with all talcum powder it doesn't always go exactly where you want it to. I will usually use this in the bathroom which has a cream coloured vinyl flooring as if I use it in the bedroom I can see flecks of the talc on the light brown carpet.
The talc is the usual white colour and a very fine powdery texture but the main difference between this and other talcs is that it doesn't smell at all. I like this fact as I am not too keen on a lot of different smells on my body but I know a lot of people do prefer products to have an actual smell. It is obviously suitable for both sexes due to not being perfumed and my husband does use this on his feet as he suffers with mild athletes foot and this talc seems to help to get rid of it.
I use it all over my body to keep my skin dry as I do get very hot rushing around throughout the day. I will either sprinkle a small amount into my hands and then rub it gently over my body, or alternatively I use a large powder puff which is obviously more messy but it does seem to distribute the talc more evenly than using my hands.
I find that I get the best results when I have just had a bath or shower. Although I have towel dried myself my skin is still warm so it seems to absorb easily without too much rubbing. It also makes my skin feel smooth and soft and I find that my clothes slip on easily. I would say that the only place I don't use it is under my arms as I will apply deodorant here and as I use a roll on I think it would clog the deodorant up if I used them together.
I will also occasionally sprinkle a small amount into my shoes as I think it helps to keep them dry during the day and seems to keep them feeling fresher. If my feet are particularly hot if when I put my feet back in my shoes after sprinkling the talc in they do feel quite cool and comfortable.
The bottle can be recycled after use and it doesn't contain any products derived from animals. Simple state that this talc has no perfume, no colour and no unnecessary ingredients so it won't upset your skin. It is also dermatologically tested and approved.
I think this is a great product if you are a fan of more natural products or don't like too many smells all mingling into each other. At the price I paid I would definitely buy it again as it is cool and soothing on my skin.
I use a lot of the Simple range of products and as I also use talc quite often I was keen to try the Simple fine talcum powder which was on offer at Home Bargains for only a pound. I have seen this recently in Boots for £2.10 for the same sized bottle (250g) so I considered a pound to be a very good price.
The packaging of this talc is plain and simple, just like the rest of the range. It's basically made of white plastic with green wring and green lid. The lid contains the holes from which the talc comes out. The holes are large enough to allow a just the right amount of powder to come out with a coupe of shakes. I use this talc after bathing or showering and my husband uses it a lot too on his feet as he suffers from fungal infections and he has to pay special care to the area between his toes and make sure they stay dry.
I use this lovely talc all over my body and not just on my feet. It's very fine, super fine, in fact and it feels very soft and smooth when I rub it into my skin. As promised, it contains no fragrance at all, which is a little odd when you first start to sue it, especially is you have been used to using something like Johnson's Baby Powder beforehand.
It lasts for ages as 250g is quite a lot and as I don't need to use a great del, it actually lasts me for months. My daughter also likes to use this talc after she's had her bath and she says it makes her feel 'cosy'. I'm not sure what se means by that, exactly, but I think she just means it feels nice on her skin.
Overall, I really cannot find any fault at all with this particular talcum powder. It's great if you prefer to use talc which has no fragrance at all so that it won't clash with any other perfumes you might be using. It's very fine, feels remarkably soft and smooth on the skin and the plastic container can also be recycled after you have finished with it.
I have always felt that talcum powder was something saved solely for use on babies and the elderly, until I was looking for something to dry the moisture on my feet after swimming. No matter how hard I rubbed and tried to dry off my feet before putting my socks on I was always left with the difficulty of pulling my socks up over slightly damp feet. Then my friend suggested talcum powder.
Not wanting to smell like an infant or a granny I decided to look for something that was unperfumed. Happily I came across talc made by Simple. As we already know Simple make all there products unperfumed and uncoloured with no harsh chemicals.
This was exactly what I wanted and I happily paid a pound for my 250g tub.
The tub is white all over with the name Simple written in green, it states that it is kind to skin and is from the experts in sensitive skin, that it is natural goodness for healthy soft skin. It sounded good.
The next time I went for a swim I popped the tub in my bag to use after. When I had had enough of flopping up and down the pool I got out and showered and then proceeded to dry myself. As usual the air in the changing rooms was very damp and not at all conducive to getting dry. I dried my feet off as best I could and then opened the talc by twisting the green cap round till the holes lined up and talc could come out when I tipped the tub upside down. The talc plops out of the holes in the lid, it is not a smooth action and it took a couple of shakes to get enough talc in my hand to rub on my feet.
When rubbing the talc on I found it to be very smooth and soft. It was also unperfumed as promised. With a quick rub around my foot and between my toes all trace of moisture was eliminated, I could slide my sock on easily and my foot felt smooth and dry. I quickly did the same with the other foot.
I now use the talc whenever I have been swimming, as well as using it on my feet I rub a small amount in my knee and elbow joints. The talc does not irritate at all, I have had no adverse reactions to it and will happily continue to use it. I have had my 250g tub for nearly a year and it is still over half full even though it has been used most weeks..
On the back of the talc tub is a warning to keep powder away from children's mouths and noses. I can imagine that if the talc was puffed into the face of a baby or small child it would make it hard for him/her to breathe.
As the talc is unperfumed I think it would also be suitable for men to use. The talc contains no products derived from animals and the packaging is fully recyclable.
Thank you for reading.

I always remember using talc powder as a child, both on my feet and on my body, and mainly remember it because it was fun to play with, but didn't really know why I had to use it, but recently I got recommended to use talc powder again, as it helps add extra softness with my skin.. And I choose the Simple brand because I have used their face products before and loved there results, so I hoped that the talc would also be as good.
Simple Pure Fine Talc comes in a 250g bottle, which has a twist lid, which allows you to get the talc out through a series of holes in the lid. The packaging is extremely similar to other Simple products, with the white and green colours, which makes it easier to identify the product. The product claims that the talc "leaves skin soft and silky smooth" and "has no perfume or added colour", which implies that it is suitable for sensitive skin. Also Simple advises you use the talc after every bath and shower for best results.
When first using the Simple Talc, I noticed that getting the talc out of the bottle can be hard, as there are a lot of holes where the talc comes out, but I thought that there were to many holes, and therefore a couple of times, too much came out or it would end up very messy! I would personally advise only using 50p worth of talc, but I does depend on you, but having too much can be tricky to stop your skin looking ghostly white.
Applying the talc was easy enough, not any different from other talc products, it was easy to rub into my skin, which stopped the risk of having ghostly white skin, which was my biggest worry! The talc doesn't smell of anything, which I personally love, as I had memories of using talc as a child as just imagined I would have that baby-talc smell, but with Simple that wasn't a problem.
The results were really positive! My skin did feel much softer, which I really love but also the softness lasted all day, which was the biggest advantage! I also all day I feel clean and fresh throughout the day after using the talc after a shower, but also I use it on my feet as it helps them feel fresh and combats any extra moisture on my feet.
Simple make a wide range of products for the face and body. Their products include Facial Wipes, Moisturisers, Toner's, Cleaners and they do body products such as moisturiser, lotions, body wash, deodorant and other products. They also do a range for baby and Teen Skincare as well. Simple are experts in sensitive skin and all their products have no perfume or no colour added to them. All their products are dermatologically approved which makes them perfect for even the most sensitive skin. I have been using Simple products for well over 5 years now and have been pleased with all their products. I started using their Facial Wipes and then went on to use their Toner, Cleanser, Moisturiser and other products. I still use these products now and wouldn't even consider another brand. I find that their products are always very kind to my skin and I have never had a reaction to any of their products, this is probably because they don't use perfume or colour in any of their products.
***PURE FINE TALC***
Simple Pure Fine Talc comes in a big plastic bottle which is white in colour and has a green lid. You know this is a simple product as all their packaging is very similar in colour. The lid has 6 medium sized holes in the top and if you twist the lid this opens and closes the holes. On the back of the product it gives you some information about the product and how you should use it. When using the talc after every bath and shower it leaves your skin soft, smooth and thoroughly dry.
Talcum powder has some great uses and benefits. It can be used in shoes to stop your feet getting sweaty and sliding around in stiletto or high heeled shoes (Just don't use too much). As well as keeping your skin smooth and soft it also dries your skin which is a big help to stop those pimples on your back. Disgusting I know but a previous product I used to use by Clinique has been discontinued and I read about using powder on your back to help any excess oil after having a bath/shower, and I have to admit that it works a treat!
This is available to buy from local shops such as supermarkets, Boots, Superdrug and some Pharmacies. Prices may vary, but this is approximately £2.99 in Boots which is for a 250g bottle. The bottle is only available to buy in this one size. I purchased this from a discount store which cost me just £1.00 which I thought was a bargain!
***USING THE POWDER FOR THE FIRST TIME***
I always remember Talcum Powder when I was a child as it used to get everywhere and my feet would end up looking very white. When you turn the lid to the open position you can't really see inside the bottle. If you tip the bottle upside down onto your hand a small amount of talk will come out. If you want more talc you can easily give the bottle a slight squeeze and some more talc will be dispensed into your hand. The talc is a beige/off white colour and it doesn't smell of anything. Most powders smell baby like but this doesn't smell like that. I actually only used this on area's where I get a few pimples where excess oil builds up such as my back, shoulder and chest area. I don't get many pimples but I do get the odd one or two sometimes and I hate it. The talc was easy to apply and also a little messy as some did end up on the floor, how-ever this goes in time and it doesn't stain so there's no need to worry! After rubbing the talc onto my skin, it felt very smooth, soft and dry. I had actually forgotten what it was like to use Talc as I haven't used it for a long time as I tend to just out some moisturiser on after having a bath/shower.
This is a simple but wonderful product. It does leave your skin feeling soft and smooth and there is no over-powering baby smells like some other powders (how-ever sometimes this smell can be nice!). The product is great for sensitive skin as well. This is another fantastic product from Simple and it's a product I will continue to use. Talc is a great product to have in your bathroom cabinet, especially on those hot summer days after having a bath or shower. I would highly recommend this product to other's especially if you suffer from sensitive skin.
