“ Brand: Marks & Spencer / Type: Overnight bag / Material: Leather „
I bought this bag as I had got some vouchers for Christmas for M&S and wanted to spend my money on something practical but pretty and I needed a new weekend bag and thought this was stunning and would be a good buy as being from M&S I thought it would last me for years. The bag is made from leather and is purple in colour which already makes it stand out as it is an unusual colour and one that is bright and striking while still being classy looking. I really thought this bag was stunning when I first saw it in the shop and it really caught my eye straight away. The bag is a good size and has a capacity of 27 litres which sounds loads but in reality it really is just an overnight bag as by the time you put in a change of clothing and all the extras you need such as straighteners and toiletry bag there isn't much room left for anything else. I couldn't imagine using this for a long weekend as I just don't think that there would be enough room in it for three nights. Well not for me anyway. The bag comes with a metal padlock and key which isn't going to stop a really determined thief but it did make me feel more comfortable in the train station that no one was going to be able to just unzip it and steal something from it without me knowing. The handles felt really sturdy and comfortable to hold and although I do wish there had been a shoulder strap the handles were large enough to be able to hoist the bag to my shoulder had I needed to make a run for a train or anything. The leather was such good quality and really beautiful. It was really well constructed and also felt soft and just a little bit more luxurious than some other leather felt. The stitching was all really tight and I was confident that it wasn't going to split and come apart. It was also easy to clean as if I spilt anything on it then I could just wipe it down clean. The reason for my low score is because this bag cost me £50 and while in the world of hand bags this isn't a huge amount of money it is a lot for me and being from Marks and Spencer I expected the quality to be so good and for it to last me for years but after only using the bag 3 times I noticed the zip was getting stuck and when I tried forcing it open it burst and would no longer open and close. Had this been a cheaper bag from another high street shop I would have just chalked it down to the workman ship being bad because it was cheap but I expected more from M&S and so the beautiful bag I thought was going to last me years is now just sitting in a cupboard unusable for its intended purpose. I might still get a new zip put on the bag and get to use it again but I think it should never have happened in the first place and I expected better from M&S.
I bought this leather bag two years ago in red. I absolutely love this little weekend bag, it has enough space inside for everything you need for a weekend. There was plenty of room for my own clothes and my daughters. This bag is narrow by usual standards, however still roomy. There is a small zipped pocket on the sides which I used to store my jewelry. On the outside there is an A4 side pocket to put letters (reservation print out) for the ease of removing while at the hotel reception. The only snag I can find is that while the zip goes all the way round from one end the the other, it makes packing that bit awkward to do. I find I have to pack and zip up a bit at a time in order to fill the bag up. Despite that, I think it should not put anyone off purchasing this nifty weekend bag. This was the only time I wished I wasn't married, if I wasn't I would have bought the entire colours it comes out in, even the patent ones!
This is a really good quality leather bag at a reasonable price (around £60). I bought it in a nice pinky colour and I got many compliments about how nice a colour it was! It comes in a wide variety of shades. It is a nice roomy bag and truly is big enough for a weekend away. I find some 'weekend bags' to be simply too small for a weekend away but this was a nice size. The leather means it will last for a while and it can take a few knocks. However, I do feel that this bag is more about fashion than practicality. It doesn't really expand like a normal suitcase would. I used it on a 3 day trip to london and found that when it was filled with clothes it was quite heavy and was awkward to carry and as there are no wheels on the case, I had to use the handles/shoulder strap and my arm was soon very sore. After a while, I really did envy my friends who had wheelie suitcases. I haven't used it since and have gave up on looking fashionable in favour of being able to just wheel my suitcase behind me.
Marks & Spencer is a high-end brand selling expensive, yet affordable and good quality products. I love Marks & Spencer products for their durability and great quality. Therefore, I was pretty happy to receive £20.00 voucher as a present for my birthday from my uncle; my guess is he didn't have a clue what to get me but it's the thought that counts anyway. So when I was looking for ways of using up my voucher, I saw this overnight bag in sale. It was red-ticketed at £29.99 and since I thought a bag would be more useful to me rather then clothes (I've got a closet overflowing like any other teenagers), so I happily bought this overnight bag for £9.99 out of my own money. The design of the bag is very nice and it got a lot of space. I tend to bring half the closet for a weekend back home, so I know an overnight bag for me has to be spacious yet not very heavy. This bag ticks the boxes for me. The colour is bright purple, it's vibrant and I don't mind the colour. The bag also has a sturdy structure; therefore, even I stuff it full of clothes, make up and basically every other thing in my room, it doesn't lose its shape after using it for a long time. It also has four studs at the bottom to prevent any damage to the base of the bag; I find this to be very good design especially when I'm travelling and have to put my bag down on the rough pavement. The bag is made with very good leather and it's soft to touch. It's look very contemporary and stylish. The bag is truly multifunctional. I mostly use this overnight bag when I'm coming back home from university for a weekend. It is the perfect size for two sets of clothes plus any toiletries and books. The handles are of good length and width, and I find it quite easy to carry the filled overnight bag from my experience. Also, I also use it as a 'uni bag' when I have to bring in a laptop or textbooks as it has got a lot of space. The zipper of the bag is pretty good and smooth. It also comes with padlock but I've lost it awhile ago, and also I don't really lock my overnight bag as I tend to keep it close to me. One improvement I could see for this design is that they could have made it so that it has a shoulder-sling. I think it would be use when I have extra bags (i.e. laptop bag) and need an extra hand to carry tickets for travelling. However, this is not to say it can't be carried on the shoulder. It certainly can be carried on my shoulder but the length of the handles are a bit short, compare to a long shoulder strap, to carry this bag filled with clothes for a long time without feeling some discomfort. Therefore, I tend to carry this bag by hand. Overall, this overnight bag has a lot of uses and I think it's a good buy for me. It is very durable and the colour is still vibrant even though it has met its fair share of rainy days. Nice quality bag from Marks & Spencer, and another reason for me to love sales at M&S. Thank you for reading. :) x
I've had this overnight bag from Marks & Spencers for a few years now. I recieved it as a Christmas gift from my wonderful Godmother. She always buys me quite expensive gifts, luxury gifts I guess, things that I would never buy for myself. Strangely enough though everything that she buys me is from M&S, maybe she has shares in M&S or something! She did buy me the overnight bag in the purple colour which is pictured, I had seen them in M&S at the time and they did have the bag available in quite a few different colours. I think if I remember correctly the bag was around £59.00. I initially thought that the purple was quite a strange choice, it's a lovely deep vibrant purple colour, but I do think that purple is a love it or hate it colour, fortunately I don't hate it. The reason for the purple became apparent a few days later on my birthday, which is a few days after Christmas; she had bought me a gorgeous pure cashmere deep purple and light grey striped scarf (again fom M&S!) as my birthday gift. Anyway back to the overnight bag, as I said I have it in the purple colour which is a lovely deep vibrant purple. It looks really quite a classy colour, and it's a bit different from the boring blacks and reds and so on that you normally see. The overnight bag is a gorgeous soft leather bag, not too soft that it scratches easily, but soft enough that it looks and feels classy and expensive. It is a curved shape, a bit like a bowling bag shape I guess, and it has two sturdy handles on the top. The handles are suitable for either carrying the bag by hand, or hooking it over your shoulder. I always tend to hook it over my shoulder, it's really comfortable to carry like this due to the curved shape of the bag and the soft leather. The handles are just long enough for the bag to sit snuggly under your arm and not hang down and bang about as you are carrying it. The overnight bag is a perfect size for a overnight stay, you can get everything that you could possibly need in here and then also use this as your handbag as well. It's not too big that it looks out of place doing so. I also find that this works well for a weekend away, you do need to pack carefully if you want to get everything for a weekend away in here, and I always find that I definately do need to take a seperate handbag as well. I would say that a weekends worth of stuff is definately the bags limits, if you are going away for 4 or 5 days or more then this bag won't cut it. The bag stands on four little metal studded feet so that the bottom of it doesn't get damaged when you stand it on the floor. The bag is lined with a polyester material lining lining which is wipe clean should anything leak onto it. My lining does have a few stains on it from leaking toiletries but the polester lining seems to be fairly waterproof as the stains haven't seaped through to the leather itself. The bag closes with a zipper which is good quality and fairly sturdy, I've packed the bag full to bursting on many occasions and had to virtually weld it shut, and the zipper still works perfectly fine and hasn't given out. The bag did originally come with a padlock which I've long since lost, I don't tend to need to lock it though as I wouldn't ever leave it anywhere unattended. I've just spent a month in Austria and I took this bag with me as my carry on baggage, I easily managed to fit my laptop, DLSR camera, kindle, guidebooks, various toiletries, spare knicks, pjs, and a top, and all the other bits and bobs that you carry around with you in here. I actually even switched to using this as my day to day handbag whilst in Austria if I was carrying lots of stuff around with me. This is a perfect size as a carry on for any airline, it will easily fit in the overhead lockers, it isn't too big and bulky. My bag has had tonnes of use, and it is still in really good condition, ok it doesn't look brand new, however it doesn't look shabby either. I will definately get many more years of use from this. I would definately reccomend this overnight bag to anyone, yes it is expensive, but it is very good quality and it looks really stunning as well, it will last you for years and years to come.
This is quite a stylish looking bag for Marks and Spencers, when my mum rang me to say she had bought me a lovely bag I was dreading what she would appear with. Of course anything she would get I would appreciate but when I heard it was from Marks and Spencers I pictured something more suited to the more mature lady rather than a teenager or someone in their early twenties. My mum knows how much I travel and that's why she bought me this bag. I love it, it's young and bright far more youthful than I expected however it would suite all ages that's what I love about it. I have found this bag to be very comfortable to wear it doesn't drag on my arm like lots of other bags can. It is very well made and well balanced. Even when full it holds it's shape and doesn't warp out in all directions. It is a quality product with surprisingly good stitching inside and out. The leather used is soft yet strong. I have to say this is one hard wearing bag. I have had it out in the brightest scorching sun and then months later I will have it out in the poring rain and even ice cold snow and it still looks as good as new. It's not only the outside that's well made it also has a quality interior. This is a weekend bag and it works fantastically well for that, but it could easily be used as an evening bag or even a day bag. I have the colour pictured above but my mum told me there were other colours available. This colour can be used as a statement piece. If for example you wear all black this will pop like a firecracker. Pair it with matching coloured shoes or belt for a more balanced look. This bag has a huge twenty five litter capacity (litters mean nothing to me) I can fit so much in you would swear there was a huge hole in the bottom that everything was just dropping out of. There is plenty of room for everything I would need for a short break away. There is a good strong zip that feels like it will last forever. The outer covering is shiny and easy to keep clean and any dirt that happens to end up on it will just wipe off with a damp cloth. This is a great bag that holds loads and looks great while doing it.
Marks and Spencer's Overnight Bag Purple purple purple! Definitely my colour. This bag is vibrant, stylish and with it's soft leather it could be classed just as good as any designer collection. I particularly like this bag for overnight stays. It's smart and professional looking and is great to take to work with me for those odd occasions that I may need to go to work and then straight on elsewhere for an overnight stay. It was a little expensive at full price but I bought mine in the sales so only paid £25.99 for it. Originally it was priced at £59.99 and I wouldn't have paid that for it, so I am glad of my bargain! **Design** Made of soft but sturdy top quality leather, the thick double rounded handles make the handbag easy and comfortable to hold or carry over your shoulder. The stitching on the handbag is firm and tight with no signs of looking like it may stretch or come undone. The stitching is the same colour purple as the bag and holds together the bag panels. The dimensions of the bag are 32.5cm in height, 49.5cm in width and 20cm depth. It is stated to hold up to 27 litres. The bag comes in a variety of colours but I like the purple the best. The deep red was also a nice choice and if I could have afforded it, I'd have bought that one as well. Contrasting herringbone fabric softly lines the bag inside and there is a zip compartment inside which I find useful to store loose change, keys, make up or my phone. The fabric just like the exterior of the bag is wipe clean. On the bottom of the bag there are 4 metal studs which saves the bag from getting scratched when you place it down on the floor. There is also a metal padlock and key with the bag, that is small but sturdy. **Weekend bag/What will it hold? ** This bag is actually larger than it appear in the picture. It's large enough for a weekend away, although packing the kitchen sink, it tends to suit me for an overnight stay. I am easily able to pack a change of clothes, shoes, pyjamas, hair dryer, make up bag and toiletries and some bits and bobs. **Durable and Retains Shape** I've packed and re-packed this bag lots of times and at times it's been bulging. It's very durable and retains its shape well, but its quite heavy when fully packed. It's been bashed around a few times (not on purpose) and sustained the bangs well. After months of use its still looking very new with no marks, although i do tend to worry about scratching the bag so I am particularly careful with it most of the time. The bag is very waterproof as I've been caught out in the rain a few times. Nothing inside has ever got wet so that's a plus point. Overall, I have many bags for daily wear, overnight stays, weekend trips and holidays. This bag fits well particularly for those times you are dressed smartly to smart /casual and it compliments many a different outfit. Most suited for overnight and weekend use, this bag is one of my favourites.
I initially bought this bag when I was going into hospital, although it technically is a 'weekend bag', I simply bought it because I found it in Marks and Spencers and noticed it was leather and looked lovely. I wanted one that locked too as I didn't want any of my stuff being stolen. It did have a white mark down the side and this is why we picked it up, we planned to take it to the check-out and mention the mark as if we never saw it. When we did, the guy apologised and offered us 50% off. I love Marks and Spencers! *aesthetics* I bought this in the colour pink. I couldn't say it is nice as some of the other colours but it looked pretty good and very fashionable. It does looks like it's hardwearing from the outside and does look very durable. It does simply look like a fashionable handbag and you really could just take it out with you places. The bag is actually very big although it appears very small in the photograph on Dooyoo. *capacity* This bag holds a capacity of 25 litres so it does actually fit a lot in. It does appear very small in the photo but in real life is a very large bag inside with a lot of space. I sometimes have kept items in it which have lasted me a week. It is a bit of an awkward shape so fitting solid items can be a bit of a problem, but apart from that I think it fits in more than what a small suitcase would. *durability* I have had this bag for over a year and I have put in some very heavy items and nothing has weakened or snapped so far. The exterior has maintained itself and we finally managed to get the white mark off, although it did decolour it a bit. The zip has been stretched and pulled to try and squeeze way too much stuff in but It still looks almost brand new to this day. It is extremely waterproof as I have had it out in the rain and dropped it once in a puddle and everything inside it stayed perfectly dry. This is the most the durable bag I have ever had and it is so hardwearing. *comfort* The only thing I dislike about this bag is wearing it. I don't feel it's as comfortable as many other bags and the handles are a bit 'hard'. It is fairly heavy even when it is empty and does sometimes hurt your shoulders a little bit. I would have appreciated if they put an even longer strap on it so you can swing it over your shoulder and it would help ease the weight a little bit *price* The major downfall is the price as it is £50. However, we got it for £27 and I think it was worth every single penny. It is in such good condition that we're thinking of reselling it on eBay because it is such an expensive bag. I would hate to ever part with it as I use it every time we need tot ake a lot of items away with us and even for the younger one when he went away on his school trip to Blairvadoch (I know, I'm so nasty giving him a pink bag!) All in all this isn't a good bag.... It's a fantastic bag and it is worth every single little penny of the £50. You may think this is too steep, but trust me I've had this for over a year and I would probably have went through 8 primark bags at £10 which will have broken and snapped so really this bag is very economical and will SAVE you money!
It's nearly that time of year when I have to go back home to Lancashire to visit family around July is usually the time, as I live down south now having settled here in the countryside and as I am only going over the weekend I had to buy a new bag. Not only for this reason but I like to have new things with me when I go home as taking my tatty suitcase wouldn't look right and the inlaws would take the mickey out of me the all weekend. I went to Marks and Spencers a few weeks ago and bought this Marks & Spencer Weekend Collection Overnight Bag for £55 and it looks very stylish and trendy and I am really happy with the quality of it. Mine looks like the one in the picture above apart from the colour, although I like the rich purple colour in the picture above the one I chose was a pale Latte which is like a creamy white. I have used the bag a couple of times so far before taking it up north just once for a mini break and a visit over last weekend to my friends house, she noticed the bag as soon as I got in so I had to tell her where I bought it from to stop her trying to blag mine off me. The material of the bag is soft leather but thats not to say it isn't sturdy. The stitching looks very professional and looks like it isn't going to frazzle or come undone. It has two handles which can be carried on your arm or slung over your shoulder which ever is comfortable and depending on how much you've tried to stuff in to the bag. The bag is made up of leather panels stitched together with the same coloured stitching as the bag. It's lined inside with soft material also the same colour as the bag and it has a zip compartment for carrying the loose things you many take with you like mobile phone, passport and purse or make up bag. It holds up to 1.056kg which I find is enough for me to go away with and is H32.5 x W49.5 x D20cm if you was wondering how much room it would take up on a train, bus or plane. I haven't travelled with it on these but it does sling inside the boot of the car with plenty of room to spare. It has a zip fastener which is a good solid one and has a little padlock on it so you can secure your things when you travel. There are other choices of colour if you don't like the purple or the latte one as it comes in pale pink, light coral, olive, and red so there's something to suit eveyone. I really like this as it looks like a designer style and the leather is soft which makes it more good looking and not like a mini suitcase stlyed bag. It's easy to carry as I like to sling it over the shoulder and it easily holds all my things I take with me when I go off for the weekend, including my hair straightners. Iif your looking for a stylish bag then this is a great one to choose for quality and style and the price is good too as it's around the average price you would pay for an overnight bag. You can also clean it with a damp cloth buy don't get it soaked or the leather may start to crack and there are good leather products on the market that you can rub into the leather to make it last a little longer to get more value for your money.
My sister originally bought herself this overnight bag from Marks and Spencer and I have to say that when she showed me it I had bag envy because it was absolutely gorgeous. Being the lovely sister that she is she noticed that I had liked it so much and when she next popped round for a cup of coffee she had bought me my very own one as a present in preperation of our weekend to Edinburgh which was coming up. She got me the bag in purple which is the exact one that dooyoo have a picture of. I have since seen the bags in all the colours available and although I am usually a pink kind of girl the purple is in my opinion the most vibrant and stands out the most and if I had to go in and buy my own I am 99% sure I would still have come out with the purple. It is made of leather and is absolutely gorgeously detailed and could quite easily be mistaken for a desinger bag that costs hundreds of pounds. The leather is so soft but it is incredibly sturdy at the same time and I wouldn't worry about putting some more fragile objects in it as it could withstand a few bangs. The inside of the bag is as nice as the outside and is lined in a lovely fabric the sae colour as the leather. I can honestly say the quality of the bag is absolutely topnotch and I couldn't find even the slightest fault in either mine or my sisters. The bag isn't the lightest ever bag and by the time everything is in it the bag can be quite heavy but the nice round handles are thick enough that it never feels uncomfortable to hold or carry around. It even comes with it's own little padlock which is small and I doubt that it would stand up to any pressure but is a nice touch for on the train and walking around with it to detract any would be thieves. The bag can store a surprising amount of things inside it and I didn't struggle to find room for my things on my trip to edinburgh and in fact I even had some room left over. It even has it's own little side compartment for your toiletries. The price of the bag is £55 which at first might seem a lot for a weekend bag but when you see it in the flesh and you can actually see the quality you will see it is worth every penny.
I purchased this bag as an absolute treat for myself in the post christmas period. I say 'an absolute treat' because I paid full price for it quite happily even though I had secretly been hoping and praying that it would be reduced in the sales. It is a delightful, classic, bowling bag shape with double handles at the top and it comes in many colours, including purple (which mine is and which is in the picture at the top), coral, red, olive, mulberry and latte (a pale creamy brown). I had been eyeing these bags every time I walked through our local M&S and had already decided that I needed one (yes, needed) for all the times when I have to spend the night away from home with work. The bag was not reduced in the sales and so I paid the full price of £55 for it, however, it is a great quality item which will clearly give lots of wear and which looks more expensive than it is. The price is, in this instance, justified. I decided on the purple version because it looks very smart and very contemporary at the same time. The bag comes with it's own mini padlock and key for added security, it has one main section with a capacity of 27 litres, it is not massive but it is a more than adequate overnight bag. It has one internal pocket which also has a zipper and is useful for bits and bobs (or toothbrush and toiletries in my case!). The interior of the bag is well lined and feels high quality. The leather smells lovely and is supple and evenly coloured, all in all I think this bag is actually incredibly good value for the price and quality. I always feel like it looks designer when I use it and I have had 2 comments already about the lovely colour. The actual dimensions are as follows: height 32.5, width 49.5, depth 20cm.
I bought this travel bag from Marks & Spencers just before Christmas. I got it from the Marks & Spencer website and it cost £55. I had a free delivery code so I did not pay delivery, I also went through Quidco and got 3% cashback. The Bag The bag is called 'Weekend Collection Curvy Leather Double Handle Overnight Bag. It comes in lots of different colours - Red, Purple, Pale Pink, Olive, Mulberry, Light Coral, Purple and Latte. The bag is made completely from leather. It has a double handle for easy grip and it has a small metal padlock and key so you can lock the bag. The bag holds 27 litres and it measures H32.5 x W49.5 x D20cm. There is an inner pocket inside the bag, this pocket is zipped. The bag comes lined with co-ordinated fabric. The bag has one large zip at the top of the bag to close the bag. My Results: I had been looking at this bag in my local Marks and Spencer high street store for some time before I bought it. The colour they had in my store was the red version, no other colours were available to buy from the store but all other colours could be ordered for instore collection. The red version is lovely, the red is vibrant and not at all shiny or cheap looking. I was really tempted to buy the red but after looking at all the colours available online I decided to buy the Mulberry colour. It looked lovely on line and when it arrived I was not at all disappointed. It is a lovely shade, a very deep purple almost grape colour, not at all shiny and the leather it is made from is really thick and seems to be very good quality. The bag has been lined with contrasting coloured fabric, there are no loose threads or imperfections in the lining, it is perfect. The bag is a great size for overnight travel. I can get my nightwear, a change of clothes, shoes and toiletries into this bag. The large zip at the top of the bag is quite strong and robust and closes and opens really easily. The double handles help to disperse the weight when the bag is full and this makes the bag really easy to carry. The handles are a good length, not too long and this also makes sure you can get a good grip of the handles to carry the bag. The bottom of the bag has 4 little metal feet on it, so this ensures that when you put the bag on the ground the feet touch the ground and this saves the bottom of the bag from getting scratched. I have never really used the inner zipped pocket of the bag for anything. Might be handy for passports/documents but when travelling I always keep these items in my handbag. Probably the best use for the pocket is for small items of make-up, toiletries, medication and tissues etc, items that you don't want to get lost in the bag. I have never used the paddlock and key that come with the bag. Whenever I have used the bag I have always had the bag with me and had no need to lock it. If you were checking in this bag at the airport then you will have the security of locking it with the padlock and key. I have used the bag about 4 times and I can really say it still looks like new. I am very careful with it and when it needs to go in the back of our car then I do it myself as I get worried that my husband will just throw it in and the bag will get scratched. At a cost of £55 I want this bag to last and look good for a long time, I know some people like the look of used and aged leather but I am not one of them. Up to now the bag is still in immaculate, perfect condition. I would never check this bag in at an airport, I would be too worried that it would get scratched. As you can probably tell by now, I really like this bag. Like lots of people I am on a budget which just seems to be getting tighter and tighter at the moment. It took me a while to save up for this bag and also to justify to myself that I could not live without it. £55 is not a cheap purchase and this is not a cheap bag. I personally think that this bag is worth every penny and the colours it comes in are really stunning. Great bag and really great quality.
I bought the Weekend Collection Curvy Leather Double Handle Overnight Bag with some Marks and Spencer vouchers I had had for my birthday. My fiancé Mark and myself were stopping overnight in a nice hotel so I needed something to pop overnight things in. The M&S weekend bag isn't cheap, its currently on sale for £55.00, as I said I used vouchers to buy mine. There are 6 colour choices in this design:- Latte ( looked like grey to me) Coral Olive Pale Pink Purple Red. I opted for the pale pink which is such a pretty shade. The bag has measurements of approximately 31 x 48 cm's and is about 50cm's deep. it's a nice size bag. Not overly large but big enough to get all I needed in it. The leather is of a good quality and is easily cleaned. Just a damp cloth or sponge wiped over it should keep it nice and clean. The bag has nice stitching detail on it and does look very good quality. It has 2 grab handles and a double zip which runs not only over the top of the bag but a good way down the sides too. There are leather tags on the zips making them easy to pull. It does comes with a little padlock but I always use one of my own. The bottom of the bag has 4 little silver stud feet to prevent the bag coming into direct contact with the ground. The inside of the bag is nicely lined and there is a zipped pocket in there. The bag is nice and roomy inside . I easily fitted everything I needed for a night away. Clothes, toiletries for us both, and my hair straighteners. Being diabetic I have to always carry injections, a blood monitor and needles, these all tucked inside the bag as well. I have found this weekend bag to be very useful and have used it several times now, it's an ideal size for me and I certainly don't travel light! Its made from nice quality materials and is finished of neatly. it's a lovely shape, elegant and stylish. It would also make an ideal piece of carry on luggage for those flying. If I had to find a negative with this it would have to be the weight. The bag is quite heavy before anything goes in it. This however is a small little niggle and personally not a problem. In conclusion I would recommend the Curvy Leather Double Handle overnight bag. It is quite costly but its so practical and the shape of it is so elegant it really is a stylish piece of luggage that would rival any large handbag and wouldn't look out of place anywhere.
Every time I went away in the past I'd just stick a few bits into my husband's huge Nike holdall, but when I became pregnant I quickly realised I didn't want to take that into hospital! So when my mum asked what I'd like for Christmas I asked for a holdall, suitable for overnight stays and to use as carry-on. I was so absolutely chuffed to get the Marks and Spencer Weekend Collection Overnight Bag! The bag is available instore and online at Marks and Spencer's - I've seen it in the M&S Home in the Trafford Centre but not the Outlet in Junction 32 Castleford, so you are better off visiting a larger store to buy. It costs £55. The bag is 32.5cm x 49.5 cm with a depth of 20 cm - easily enough for any travelling woman's needs - and comes in a variety of colours, mine is a vibrant berry purple, I have also seen it in cream, cherry red, pale pink and a soft olive green. It is made of leather which means it is very durable and is waterproof and wipe clean too. It has a strong zip on the opening, which comes complete with a mini padlock and keys, perfect for use when travelling and your luggage may be out of your sight, such as air travel. The double handles are very practical - meaning the bag can be carried over the shoulder, or shopper style. I trialled the bag over the New Year when I visited London and was so amazed to fit in two changes of outfit for myself, two tee shirts and a pair of jeans for my husband, a toiletry bag, hairbrush, book and underwear. The bag was full, but at no point did the zip ever feel like it may give. The bag holds 27 litres and you can get a lot more into it than you realise - certainly enough for a weekend away as its it's intention. Inside the bag there is a herringbone lining which feels durable and a zipped compartment perfect for money, cards, passport etc - anything you need to get a hold of quickly and keep safe. Now I am home the bag is ready packed for the birth - and again I am very impressed that I've gotten all my essentials and the baby's clothes and nappies in there too. It looks great and rather than take in a huge Nike bag, I can feel sophisticated (well, as sophisticated as you can feel rushing into hospital to give birth!!). I know I'll get many years of use out of this practical, well-made bag, and for £55 it's an absolute bargain.
Marks and Spencer Weekend Collection Curvy Leather Double Handle Overnight Bag I recently bought yet another weekend away bag, I now have at least three bags that I alternate between on a regular basis. Most of my best friends stay in different cities dotted around the place and I try and get to see them on a semi-regular basis, really as much as we can. It is great getting away for a weekend and I really enjoy it, usually I prefer to travel by train, it is usually less hassle. I want a bag that holds enough but looks good while doing it, something that if I go straight out to dinner with it in tow it won't look to out of place. Initially what attracted me to this bag was that it was available in quite a few different eye catching colours. I decided upon the very nice dark purple colour of mulberry, but I was very tempted by the also equally lovely green. In the end practicality won over and I choose a more practical colour but this was also available in pink, cream and red (at least to my memory). The mulberry is lovely because it is quite dark so it doesn't show up every speck of dirt, which can quickly accumulate when travelling, so far my bag has remained in pretty pristine condition with only the occasional wipe down. This bag is a perfect size for holding everything you might need for a couple of days away. The main compartment is very spacious, holding 27 litres according to Marks and Spencer's although I still think it is a bit weird that luggage space is measured in litres. There is one side zipped pocket on the inside but really the main compartment is just a cavernous area waiting to be filled. I find that I just try and pack methodically so that anything I might need to reach quickly or while travelling is at the top so I don't have to try and search around inside the bag. It might have been nice to have it separated or divided up by a partition, but then at the same time with a bit of planning to your packing I don't really see this as being a problem. The bag feels and looks sturdy, it retains its shape well even when this is pretty full. The leather was a bit tough to begin with but as this has been used it has softened and looks much better. It does also come with a few studs on the bottom, which is great for keeping the bottom undamaged and great for when you have to put this down on the floor. The bag itself when empty is not that heavy for a weekend bag but after carrying this around when full you can really feel begin to feel it so it is always nice to put it down whenever possible. As you would suspect with a travel weekend bag you are provided with a small padlock and key, which I very rarely if ever use. It is nice to have it for extra caution if the occasion arrives. The padlock is small but seems sturdy enough to be reliable. I couldn't remember what I paid for this bag but checking online it is retailing for £55. However, at the time I bought it I had a money off voucher which made it slightly cheaper. For the price I think that this is a fantastic bag, it feels and looks like a quality product and has so far served me well. Personally, I think that this bag looks far more expensive than it is retailing for. Personally, I think that this weekend away bag deserves no less than four out of five stars. It is nothing particularly fancy but it serves its function well and it does look nice while doing it. I have a friend who owns this bag as more of a university bag, she is studying primary school teaching and often needs to cart along quite a few supplies, which usually all fit into this bag. I would happily recommend this bag to anyone looking for something similar I have been very pleased with mine and I suspect that I will have this for quite a while to come, all I need now is more occasions for weekends away.
