Why did I choose City Univeristy? -> I chose City because it has excellent good reputation and it is a very good University. I have been to many open days at universities all over London and most of them seemed ok, but they didn't convince me why I should choose them. Then I went to City University open day and it was very convincing. They were very friendly and gave me the right advice. I liked their course structure as well, because it was a good combination of theory and practise. Advantages -> City has the same job rate as Oxford and Cambridge. It has a new scheme called Professional Pathway, where you can work and study at the same time for years 2,3 and 4. It is a new shceme and not many universities does that right now. Through this shceme, you only do 2 modules for about 15 weeks (one day a week at uni and 4 days work). It means less holidays, but it also means no debt and you earn while studying. When you look for a job, they want experience rather than a degree, because everyone has a degree now a days. So I guess three years experience should land you in a cool job. City University also has some excellent lectures, who doesn't bore you in their lectures, they make it funny and interesting. The main advantage to this university is that students are listened to, if students have a problem, they would be more than happy to help students sort it out. Disadvantages -> Like any other universities there are a few disadvantages to this university as well. There are one or two lectures that are arrogant and boring, and the university lacks a few facilities like they only have one cd-rewriter and that machine doesn't even have a zip drive. But they have assured us that by next year, they will make sure that there are more cd-rewriters.
