Dip you tortilla chips in Moroccan Houmous!

A few days ago we just entered to Sainsbury's to get something for dinner. We had no idea what to eat. As I was baking all day for my friend's party I had no intention cooking or baking anything for dinner.

We took a look at the fresh ready made food available that evening. My hubby wanted to eat houmous. It was on offer, so we bought two pots (200 g each). One of them was Moroccan style, the other one was Roasted Red Pepper Houmous. Now I review the Moroccan style Houmous.

      Texture, taste, experience
Its taste reminds me to Indian food. It is very delicious, has lovely spicy taste. It is quite hot. We bought tortilla chips and dipped them into the houmous. It was really good. I recommend you trying it once. The houmous has quite thick creamy texture. Actually it is similar to other dips. It is not runny at all.

A pot of this style of houmous costs 1.35 pounds in Sainsbury's when it is not on offer. We took 2 pots for 2 pounds. It has a piece of celery topped with houmous on the paper wrapper. Inside this wrapper you can find a transparent plastic pot containing the lovely orange coloured houmous. You can find red pepper topping on this style of houmous. The topping is extra hot.

Moroccan Style Houmous contains: Cooked Chickpeas (31%) (Water, Chickpeas), Onion (24%), Rapeseed Oil, Tahini (from Sesame) (10%), Water, Red Chilli (5%), Concentrated Lemon Juice, Coriander (1%), Salt, Garlic Purée, Ginger Purée, Cumin, Paprika, Turmeric, Cinnamon.

Red Pepper Topping contains: Cooked Chickpeas (54%) (Water, Chickpeas), Onion (36%), Red Pepper (27%), Rapeseed Oil, Lemon Juice from Concentrate, Red Chilli (1.5%), Sugar, Coriander (1.5%), Smoked Paprika, Salt, Paprika, Garlic Purée, Black Pepper.

      My opinion
Since the first trying we bought several times and eat it with tortilla chips. I'm not a celery fan so I eat it with tortilla. There are a lot of other possibilities to eat with but we haven't got bored with it yet. You can try to eat with salad or simply spread it on your toast.

I loved its spicy taste which reminds me to Indian food. Because of the red pepper in it the houmous has an orangey-pink colour. It looks delicious. The 200 g is enough for a pack a tortilla chips for two of us. As you could see it is quite rich in calories. It's not the healthiest treat but a yummy one.
