      yum!

This raspberry flavoured vodka from Absolut of Sweden comes in an attractive raspberry coloured glass bottle containing the clear vodka. I picked it up having heard good things about Absolut's flavoured vodka.

Upon opening the bottle I discovered it had a rather powerful raspberry smell which was very pleasant, and I tried a sip of it - wow! Very clear vodka with a strong raspberry taste! I didnt find the taste or smell too synthetic either, something which is nice, and pretty important.

Whilst drinking with friends I was mixing the raspberry vodka with cola, and it had an extremely nice taste somewhat akin to dr pepper - yummy!

Don't let the taste fool you however - this vodka is POWERFUL stuff, I woke up with a banging headache the next day! So as with anything (but especially this) drink in moderation!

I would say this has definitely spurred me to try some of the other swedish flavoured delicacies.

      A lovely refreshing drink

Absolut Raspberry is a flavoured version of Absolut Voka. There are a variety of flavours available however to date, the Raspberry version is my favourite as I find it the most versatile for drinking neat with ice, with lemonade as a mixer, or for using in cocktails as in all three variations, the raspberry flavour comes through beautifully. Presented in a trendy deep red coloured tall bottle, this instantly stands out on the shelf and there is something just a little bit cool about the brand. As with most spirits, it is strong at over 40% proof and does come in slightly on the expensive side at around £22 for a bottle, however for me, the flavour is worth it and for something tasty which is a little bit different, it cannot be faulted. I particularly enjoy this on a hot summers day as it is a very refreshing drink. I will definitely be trying other flavours of Absolut Vodka in the future, based on my experiences with this version.

      Different take on vodka

Three alcohol reviews in a row makes me look like a bit of a lush which is not really the case but I do like a drink and when it comes to spirits my main tipple is vodka. Absolut is a good vodka brand from Sweden, the bottles always have a distinctive styling to them. I had enjoyed the peach flavoured vodka that I had tried and thought I would give the raspberry flavoured vodka a try, it was not cheap at £20 a bottle but generally Absolut is a good quality brand and a little more pricey than other mainstream brands.

There is a strong fruity flavour to this vodka and it also has a fresh fruity smell to it as well. It is not an overly sweet taste as there is no added sugar in this flavoured vodka and there is a natural juice flavour to it rather than the sometimes plastic flavours that you get from some cheaper flavoured vodkas. Personnally it is not as nice as the peach flavour in my opinion, for me it is almost too fruity for me and it rather masks the sharpness of the vodka a little too much for my tastes.

For me it is one of those drinks that I have to be in the mood for, I tend to add tonic water to it to stretch out the drink however it is quite nice neat over ice as well. For me it is not something that I would buy again unless it was on special offer as it is not something that I would drink on a regular basis.

Nice twist on a classic vodka

Rasberry Absolut Vodka is part of the Absoult Vodka range and is 40% abv (80% proof). The Vodka comes in a red raspberry coloured glass bottle with white writing on the bottle indicating that the vodka is imported and that Absolut have been blending and producing vodka since 1879. Rasberry Absolut in made from natural ingredients (including wheat) and does not contain any added sugar, the raspberries used usually come from Swedish hillsides.

Rasberry Absolut in widely available in supermarkets and off-licenses and a 1 litre bottle can be purchased for around £18-20, depending on where you shop, at the moment, Asda are selling a 1 litre bottle for £18.27.

The Vodka is not raspberry coloured, which I found a little disappointing, but then that would probably alter the way it tastes as they would need to add a colour to the vodka. The vodka is smooth to taste, has a nice finish and unlike some cheaper vodkas does not taste unnatural or of chemicals, the use of real raspberries really does make the vodka pleasant to drink, on its own over ice and if added to a mixer, I usually just use a diet lemonade, it adds a nice addition to the drink, plus it makes it longer. When consumed neat the vodka is good to drink and it does not leave a nasty after taste or make you feel like you are drinking neat alcohol.

The vodka smells sweet and fruity, like raspberry and is quite strong, but the initial smell is not carried through into the taste, which is good in my opinion.

Overall, if you like vodka I would recommend giving this a try, it's a nice twist on a pretty well known brand, it mixes well and can be used in all the usual ways, such as drinking it neat, adding to a mixer or in a cocktail. The price is fairly reflective of other similar brands and the bottle looks good too.

          WHAT IS IT?

A raspberry flavoured vodka from Absolut. It has got an alcohol content of 40% and it is available in a 70cl glass bottle with screw top lid.

          THE FLAVOUR

This is vodka so has got a very strong flavour that burns as you drink it. The raspberry only flavours the vodka and doesn't dilute it so if you can't drink neat vodka then you'll still need to use a mixer. I mix it with tonic because juice covers the raspberry flavour too much. I have had it with cranberry juice and that makes it fruitier but you lose the taste of the raspberry.

          WHAT I THINK

This is not one of my favourite Absolut flavours because there are others I like more than raspberry but it is very nice. I like the fruity flavour and can tell it is a high quality drink because the vodka is very smooth even when I don't use a mixer. Even though it tastes smooth it is still neat vodka so can make you sick if you drink too much, the raspberry makes it fruity and sweet but it is very natural tasting as well and you'd know it was raspberries.

You measure it out the same as any vodka and add the mixer to how strong or weak you want your drinks. It's the sort of flavour that you can drink in gulps but I like sipping it instead and savouring the flavour. You can get very drunk drinking this and it always gives me a headache when the rest of the Absolut flavours don't.

My husband does not like raspberries and he says the flavour is too much like the fresh fruit so he cannot drink this vodka, I don't think I will buy it again but it has been a very nice drink over the summer because it is fruity and refreshing.

          4 Dooyoo Stars.

          fresh and fruity Raspberri vodka

Everyone has heard of Absolut vodka, and has probably tried at least one of the flavours, even if it's just the unflavoured vodka. Absolut is a Swedish vodka, and is produced near Åhus, in the province of Skåne, in southern Sweden. Which funnily enough is the province in which we used to live.

Absolut do many different varietes; Absolut Blue - the regular unflavoured vodka - a 40% 80 proof vodka, Absolut Peppar - roasted jalapeno, green tomato and dried herbs flavour, Absolut Citron - lemon flavour, Absolut Kurant - blackcurrant flavour, Absolut Mandrin - orange and mandarin flavour mix, Absolut Vanilia - vanilla flavour, Absolut Raspberri - raspberry flavour, Absolut Apeach - peach flavour, Absolut Ruby Red - grapefruit flavour, Absolut Pears - pear flavour, Absolut Mango - mango flavour, Absolut Berri Acai - a blend of acai, blueberry and pomegranate, Absolut Wild Tea - black tea and elderflower flavour, and Absolut 100 - a 50% 100 proof vodka.

I've tried many different flavoured vodka brands, and the Absolut range are definately my favourite, I've actually tried all of the Absolut flavours. I guess that makes me sound like a bit of a lush! Absolut have a wide range of flavours, and all of them bar one (the Absolut Peppar) are delicious. The 'Raspberri' raspberry flavour is definately one of my favourite flavours, and one that we buy fairly often, I definately sound like a lush now!

Absolut Raspberri was launched back in 2004. Unlike a lot of other flavoured vodka ranges, the Absolut flavoured range doesn't contain any added sugar, therfore they are not too sweet, you just get the true taste of the relevant flavour.

Absolut Raspberri is a very fruity flavoured vodka. It has a very fruity raspberry smell, which you can smell instantly when you open the bottle, and also in your glass. The fruity raspberry taste is unmistakeable, however it isn't sweet or synthetic at all. It's a very rich and intense raspberry flavour, and the raspberry taste is of very fruity and fresh and ripe raspberries. I don't think that anyone could really dislike this, as it is a really pleasant tasting vodka, and raspberry is such a popular and easygoing flavour. If you like raspberries I would say that you would love this.

I think that Absolut Raspberri goes really well when mixed with Absolut APeach (peach), it's like a gorgeous fruity peach melba taste, absolutely delicious!

Absolut Raspberri is the perfect vodka to drink either straight, on the rocks or with a mixer of your choice. It's a really easy drinking vodka due to the really pleasant taste. I think that it's delicious with cranberry juice, and a few fresh raspberries in the glass as well. It's also delicious with just tonic water or diet lemonade, the taste of the raspberries really comes through here, especially if you again add fresh raspberries to the glass. Or I love to make a fizzy peach melba with tonic water and both the Absolut Raspberri and the Absolut APeach. I also like to use Absolut Raspberri in cocktails, it gives an interesting new twist to traditional cocktails, or it enables you to invent your own new flavoured cocktails.

            Great for a change

I tried this a long time a go when i was much more naive and thought that it would actually taste of raspberry but have the alcoholic strength of vodka, i was much younger and more foolish when i made this mistake so the bottle just spent years in a cupboard gathering dust until more recently.

When pouring out you realise that it is in fact not red in colour but still clear however the scent of it does smell quite like raspberry rather than the usual overpowering scent of vodka showing off it's strength. The actual flavor of this vodka is not unlike regular vodka but it does have a different flavor you just have to focus on it rather than just downing it, the vodka has quite a strong aftertaste making you notice that it isn't just a pretty colored bottle. The raspberry tinge to it also makes it much easier to drink in my opinion allowing you to drink it freely and easily where regular vodka sometimes isn't as nice to get down. I definitely think that this is a drink to try if you fancy a change from your regular but don't expect it to be a WKD alcopop tasting beverage.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

I wouldn't buy it again but it was fun to try.

I requested this when I was asked to choose a going away to university present, with the intention of starting a little mini-bar in my room for pre-drinking. I love cocktails but cocktails do not love a student budget so any array of alcohol products would help! This sounded so appealing - raspberry flavoured vodka mmm. I do think I was naive to think it would taste fruity, sort of as a raspberry flavoured cider would.

Anyway I was very excited upon recieving the bottle as its deep red colour and striking bold font met my eyes. "Ooooh Absolut I recognise that brand! And raspberry too oh wow!" I said as I was handed my present. A week later I had brought it to university, displayed proudly on my shelf - and it does look good. The smell is pleasant - not too strong and you can definately smell the raspberry. So, that night we were going out and I was aching to try out my new shot glasses. So I poured out a glass and took it back in one. Ohh dear mistake! I have been a student for two years already and taken many shots in my time but this is the strongest I have ever encountered. It was stronger than whisky which burns my throat when taken straight. Then after searching the bottle I found that it is in fact 40% which seems very strong to me - but I don't have much experience in vodka (hard to believe since I'm a half irish and polish).

So when I drink this I do need to use alot of lemonade otherwise the taste is just too powerful for me, diluted quite heavily the raspberry flavours come through and it's much more enjoyable to drink - which means it will also last longer. I also recommend heading to the Absolut website as they have cocktail recipes and I'm going to try mixing it with cranberry juice.

If you're a regular hardcore vodka drinker then go for it, but I'm gonna stick to my schnapps.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

Not the best raspberry alcoholic drink

              ==Raspberry Absolute Vodka==

As most people do at Christmas I had a bit of an alcohol splurge and stocked my drinks cabinet up till it was almost fit to burst. This Raspberry vodka from the Absolute makers was not something I would have normally opted for but since I was making my own Raspberry vodka I was keen to compare!

The bottle wasn't cheap at around £16 as it wasn't on a special offer or anything which is really when I like to pick my alcohol up but it was Christmas and I didn't foresee how skint I was going to be come May time! You do however get a nice sized 700 ml of flavoured vodka although with the design of the bottle until I looked closely I assumed there was a litre of it so I guess the shape is a cleaver design.

The bottle does look good and the fact that the glass is a lovely deep red colour does make you know that it is not your ordinary kind of vodka. There is the fact that Raspberry is printed very boldly under the Absolute name that gives this away too so I don't think there would be much room for mistakes especially as the plain vodka from absolute comes in a clear bottle with large blue writing on. The look of the bottle on the whole is very good and it does look far better than a value bottle of vodka in the cabinet. The silver screw cap lid keeps the drink secure and makes sure than none of the precious liquid escapes.

The flavoured vodka itself has a really very raspberry smell which does have a very natural aroma to it. The scent is strong, sweet and very appealing but there is only a very light, and hardly noticeable, hint of the astringent smell of vodka which is probably a good thing. The flavour is not really what I was expecting but I think this may have been down to the fact that my home made raspberry vodka was more like a thick liqueur one and this Absolute vodka keeps the thin smoothness of a normal vodka but with the added taste of those raspberries.

The taste was very nice in so far as it is a strong berry one but the feel that I was wanting the texture to be thick was always there. I didn't feel it was a nice warming drink to have and saviour like a liqueur is and to drink it straight didn't really work for me. I have been mixing it with coke to make it work better and this is okay but not something I would ask for if going out.

The 40% alcohol content make it a fairly strong drink which after a few you know you have been drinking and you don't need too many to be rather tipsy. I think thought that I shan't be rushing out to buy it again and for the extra price of getting a cheap bottle of vodka isn't not really worth it. I found my thicker tasting home make raspberry vodka to be much nicer and have more appeal (plus cheaper as I used cheap vodka and use by today raspberries which were on a price reduction).

It was nice for a change and to taste this but I found that a flavoured vodka such as this doesn't have as much appeal as a liqueur would do for me. I think a average score of 3 out of 5 stars is fitting for this product.

I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you

many thanks for taking the time to read.

A refrehing moreish vodka drinkable at any time of the year.

                Absolute raspberri Vodka.

Absolute raspberri vodka is one of a variety of flavours produced and available from Absolute.

Vodka has been made in Sweden for about 400 years or so.

Absolute vodka has been made since 1897 from winter wheat grain from Southern Sweden. The wheat is unusual in that it is planted in the autumn so that the wheat hardens under the snow before growing throughout the following year before being harvested. Lars Olssan Smith invented the continuous distilling process which occurs 100's of times as opposed to other vodka production.

The emphasis on absolute vodka is its purity.

The water used to produce the vodka comes from deep wells in the town of Ahus and is protected from impurities through natural filtration therefore making the vodka as pure as can be. It is then distilled numerous times.
This absolute vodka is made and bottled in Sweden in the town of Ahus and flavoured with natural raspberry which is grown around the outskirts of the town.

Raspberri Vodka was launched in 2004.

                Taste test.

On opening the red coloured bottle the smell of the vodka is unmistakably of raspberry. Pouring it into the glass the vodka is as clear as water with no impurities observable whatsoever. Moving the vodka around the glass you can see the alcohol content on the side of the glass. The taste is smooth and refreshing with a full tasting of Raspberri and the vodka it contains. This vodka can either be drunk on its own or with a mixer. It would be suitable for anytime of the year and is quite refreshing in the summer as a long drink or warming in the winter on its own.

                My personal verdict.

I love the smooth clean taste of absolute raspberri vodka it is absolutely wonderful, pure, refreshing and clean tasting. I would highly recommend this brand.
