This soap bar is amazing as a facial cleaner as well bathing with. With the light, clean scent, light weight, and easy lather this soap is a sure win.
I have used Dove products for years, and with most products they tend to change up ingredients on you. Causing the product to not act or be the same when you use it, however, Dove soap and products have always stayed the same for me. Even when Dove introduces new products those are even better.
This product suds up well under running water, it lathers well in a damp to wet cloth, and it rinses off well. Because Dove is a great product to use, it does cause irritation to the skin, or leave residue like other products.
I have a bar specifically for my face, and I have a bar that I use in the shower and it lasts so long! You are giving yourself a treat when you buy this
I love Dove products and always use Dove deodorants and other items in the range. However I was recently re-introduced to the Dove soap cream bar. My hubby bought me some and I fell in love with the lovely soap all over again.
Each bar of Dove original Beauty Cream bar is made with one quarter moisturising cream and it states on the blue and white box that the key to beautiful skin is moisture so that is why Dove created the beauty bar with one quarter moisturising cream.
I like the way this soap does not have an overly strong perfume fragrance but smells very fresh and it is perfect for my dry and sensitive skin. My skin does feel softer after using this product. I only use it on my body as my face is too sensitive for any soap which has fragrance but I love the way in which it makes my skin feel refreshed and less dry after use.
It is available in most supermarkets and chemist shops. I have seen it in Sainsburys in a pack of two for one pound fifty pence which I think is reasonable for a good quality soap.
The only thing I would say against this soap is that due to it's moisturising qualities the soap gets quite soft and does not last as long as some bars of soap. However as it is not overly priced and it is a good quality item I do not mind replacing it on a more regular basis than other soap.
I am glad to be reunited with this lovely cream bar and shall be continuing to use it from now on.
I have always loved the concept of using soap bars as a face cleanser, but every time I tried something, I ended up with dry patches all over my skin and that nasty waxy feeling you get from most soaps. As I was struggling with acne and oily skin, through the age of 12 to 18 I tried a ton of different (and expensive) skin cleansers (liquid, foam, soap bar, creams) and nothing seemed to impress me.
Then I went to college and started trying to save up money, and I heard that you can use the Dove bar soap on your face. I tried it, and loved it, and have been using it for 4 years (I am now 22). One bar is so affordable, lasts for a long time, the feeling and smell of the lather is so nice. Imagine velvety shaving foam! And I appreciate the fact that it removes the heaviest of makeup from my skin after a long day, leaving my skin glowing and clean. The only drawback I found in this is that since it is soap bar, it tends to make my face feel a bit dry if I don't moisturize. So if you try this make sure to apply moisturizer.
After a while of using it I can tell that my skin has improved and feels better, than the times when I would slap on a dozen of acne-fighting products. Just a simple cleaning and moisturizing routine seemed to do the trick for me. I have also encouraged my mother and friends to use it, and they have been very satisfied so far. My mother has incorporated it in her routine completely.
I also have a spare bar in my shower, in case I run out of shower gel, because you can totally use this all over your body. I especially use it on my underarms sometimes. It's a space-saver when it comes to traveling because I just take one bar with me and use it to clean my face, body, and shave.
i love this product it makes my skin feel soft and also smell amazing! would recommend to anyone that doesn't want a fully fragranced product. also a very reasonable price.
My Grandma used to use this soap and whenever I use it it reminds me of being at her house and her lovely big bath! It used to be a comfort thing so sometimes when I'm feeling like I need some comfort I get the dove cream bar out!
This is a soap but it kind of dissolves as you use it so it is easier to wash with. It smells really nice and fresh, nothing specific but just a typical soapy smell which is really fine by me. I do like scented products but sometimes it's nice to have something which just smells quite 'normal'.
When I use this it is very good at cleaning, it blends nicely into my sponge and lathers nicely but the bath gets really inky and soapy because of teh nature of it, how it dissolves and goes really liquid-like as soon as warm water is worked onto it. FOr this reason the soap doesn't last very long either.
I always feel like I have been really well cleaned after using this which is nice but sometimes my skin is a little dry so I need to apply moisturiser after using it.
I do like it although it isn't a soap that I specifically go out of my way to buy and it isn't a favourite of mine, I think it is just the memories which it holds that make me still buy it sometimes! It's a perfectly good soap to use though. 3 stars
This soap is great for dry and sensitive skin - it does not leave skin red and itchy which is always a bonus! I have been using your soap since I was in high school. I love love LOVE this soap.
I love love love this soap so much! I have never had "bad" skin but I would always have a little blemish here or there on my face and I have very dry skin which can be sensitive when the wrong thing is used. I can use this on my face and body and it doesn't dry my skin or leave it feeling greasy or slimy like other "moisturizing" products. My skin on my face and body is flawless and I love to use it for shaving. This soap is really great for me as it doesnt leave my skin feeling rough or irritable which is great as I am prone to coming out in big red blotches on my skin after using some products but this dove soap is honestly great!
Dove is absolutely one of my favorite brands! Normally I can only use 'free' (fragrance, dye, etc) products due to the sensitivity of my skin, but I always prefer quality over cheaper price. Not only does my skin feel amazing after using it, it also smells amazing. Although there is no 'fragrance' if you like it still smells so clean and refreshing, leaving a silky feeling on my skin!
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with sensitive skin and looking for something that leaves your skin feeling so soft!
I'm not a particularly 'girly girl' and my beauty and skincare regime tends to be more practical rather than pampering and luxurious.
When it comes to washing, particularly in areas such as my face or underarms, I much prefer to use a soap style product, rather than a liquid or gel. Somehow, I feel more cleansed using a bar and find that the clean feeling lasts for much longer. Some traditional style soaps can feel a little too drying against my skin which tends to be fairly sensitive and on the dry side anyway, For that reason, my cleaning product of preference tends to be Dove cream bars.
There are a few varieties of these cream bars available nowadays and I have tried most of them but I do find myself coming back to this original cream variety, simply packaged in a small cardboard box with distinctive blue and white colouring. I get through quite a lot as the rest of the family will also use the same products so I tend to buy this in a multi-pack of four, which works out better value than purchasing the single bars. This brand is widely available from all supermarkets, chemists or stores such as Wilkinsons. I have even purchased multi-packs online from Amazon as a cheap way to bring an order up to the £10 mark!
The soap itself has an absolutely divine scent that I find lingers on my hands and face after use. It is not a traditionally soapy aroma but it is very distinctive and instantly recognisable as a Dove product. My other favourite feature is the amount of soft white fluffy bubbles that the bar lathers into, when used with warm water. I find that this spreads easily and leaves my skin feeling soft, moisturised and clean at the same time which I feel is excellent results from a single, inexpensive product. It never feels overpowering or drying against my skin and I'm happy to use the same product even on my young children's delicate skin, without any signs of irritation.
I do try other brands and other products but always find myself coming back to the original Dove cream bars which says it all really.
As a fan of the Dove range I also tend to purchase the Dove Beauty Bar for my soap. I find this great as its gentle enough to use on my face and hands and also gentle enough for my son to use which means I don’t need one bar of soap for us and another bar of baby soap. The Dove Beauty Bar, as Dove’s first product and was innovative as it contained ¼ moisturiser unlike any other bar of soap. Following their success with this product Dove went on to launch a whole range of items including shower cream, bath oil, moisturisers and shampoo and conditioner.
The ¼ moisturiser in these bars makes all the difference. The bar smells divine, the fragrance is nothing I can relate it to apart from all the Dove products and it has the distinctive dove fragrance that seems to oose moisturiser. When you use you simply wet the soap and lather up in your hands or skin. It produces a love rich creamy lather that feels luxurious and conditioning. While it feels lovely and moisturising it also cleans hands and face well. The lovely smell stays on skin for a short while afterwards but as it contains no harsh perfumes this does disappear quite quickly. After use your skin feels clean and fresh but not dry like when you use a soap and as mentioned they are soft enough, with a neutral pH for even babies skin.
The Bars are priced very reasonably in single packs or multi-packs of 4 for about £2.70. They come packaged in a plastic type paper wrapper and have a simple white design with the Dove logo on. They really are a fab soap bar and well worth trying if you have a sensitive or dry skin.
Soap often dries out my skin but after using and being happy with some of the Dove body washes I gave the soap a try. The Soap can be picked up all over so you can generally find it on an offer which is when I buy it and it's usually about 2 pound 50 for 4 bars.
The soap comes in a white cardboard bow which has the usual blue and gold accents, the box is sealed at both ends so once it's open it cannot be resealed which means you know it hasn't been opened.
The soap is white in colour and is curved like a pringle but obviously thicker and has Dove imprinted on the top of it. The soap contains 1/4 moisturising cream so it's claimed that it doesn't dry your skin and I have found it doesn't seem to dry mine even my hands which I have problems with.
The soap lathers well under warm or hot water, I personally only use it for washing my hands as I use body washes and cleansers other than that. My husband uses the soap a lot more than me and one bar lasts ages for us.
The soap smells lovely and clean, I can't really give it any other description but it is a light smell but very distinguishable in my opinion. The lather feels rather smooth on your skin and the smell from the soap remain on your skin for quite some time.
This is one of the few bars of soap that I will actually buy as I like something which is gentle on the skin which this is. The cost is great value, it smells lovely, cleans your skin easily and doesn't dry your skin I can't see anything else you need from a soap.
This product is by far one of my favourites when it comes to keeping clean. The original bar is lightly scented and is familiar to my childhood, as it has been a brand in my family for a very long time. The brand is well known worldwide as I have even seen people using it in America. There are many scents to Dove soap, but this Original bar is by far one of my favourites. It’s not overly scented and that is what I love. I am the sort of person who prefers natural smells.
I usually get this product from Poundland as you get two bars for a pound, however, from time to time cheap home stores such as B and M sell the product for 29p a bar which is more beneficial and value for money. The fact this product is so cheap is something you can't complain about because the quality is also nothing to complain about.
The product lathers well when used on its own, with a flannel or sponge. It doesn't flake and dries nicely without getting stuck to the soap bowl, which has been the case sometimes with me. It’s packaged as simply as possible and is also suitable for all ages.
It is also packaged nicely. It comes in a blue and white cardboard box, with the familiar branding logo and design. The box itself, if it is part of a multi-pack, also comes in a silicone wrapper with the same blue and white design. This helps the branding image to stick in your mind.
I love dove soaps. I think this soap is the best in the world. My family including myself have been using this soap for at least 10 years as it’s clearly the best soap on the market for the price! Even though I love super scrimping, I have decided not to change soaps because after trying out many cheaper soaps including branded products such as Imperial Lather and Palmolive, I have found that Dove cream bar is the best soap and the only one that doesn’t leave your skin feel dry and instead moisturises your skin.
The soap itself is sold in all major retailers in the UK, (I don’t think it’s sold in Aldi but I’m not sure about this) and comes in different pack sizes, you can buy a single pack for about 79p, a double pack at around a £1, a 4 pack for £1.69 and a 6 pack for £2.90. I personally always buy the 4 pack as it tends to be on promotion more often than the 6 pack. It’s currently £1.50 at Superdrug!
The soap itself is 100g and is an oval shape with the bottom carved out to form an oval ridge so it’s not completely oval. I think this shape is excellent as it fits in your hands and you can form lather very efficiently and quickly. After washing your face and body with the soap, it leaves your skin feeling very smooth and moisturised and feels hydrated somehow! I don’t know how they have managed to make this product so good at that price but it is excellent! It feels like a luxurious product. Also, I have found that Dove crème bar lasts longer than other soaps and once again, I do not know how. Finally, I also like this soap, as it’s not heavenly scented so it’s perfect for everybody.
Personally, when it comes to soap, I think you should never compromise and you should always buy this product no matter your budget. You will not regret it!
Yes, it's true that Dove cream bar is a very healthy skin care product. I Learn about this product from my mom when I'm age of 13 or 14. She gets so good result from this product . At that age I started to use Dove and still now I using it. Now I'm age of 30 and I feeling very refreshing and soft to use it. The only soap bar which you use everyday even on your face. After 2 week your skin become so soft and younger.Even if you have a sensitive skin You nevertheless you use the product for a better result. It's my all time favorite product and a must used product for everyone.
There is simply nothing you can say to fault Dove soap.
It's not fragrance free, it smells gorgeous. It doesn't have an overpowering scent, but a lovely fresh smell. I have quite sensitive skin, so what I particularly love is that it is made with moisturising cream, so it will always leave me feeling really clean, but I never feel as if my skin is dry after using it.
I really do recommend you try it, especially if you are put off because it is a 'soap'.
I use it twice a day - in the morning and at night . I use it on my body instead of shower gel and I use it on my face too, instead of a face cleanser.
Dove soap bars are reasonably priced, especially if you buy the multipack. You could spend a fortune on fancy cleansers, but what is the point when Dove is so much better?
I love Dove Crème Bars. That makes it sound like something you can eat - in actual fact it's a bar of soap but it's not just ordinary soap - it's a real luxury soap. I hate cheap soaps as they strip the skin and make me itch like crazy so I always think it's a good idea to invest in as expansive a soap as I can afford to.
I buy my Dove Crème Bars in singles but they are available to buy in doubles or multi packs and then they work out less expensive. The size of these bars is 100g and I pay about a pound a bar but it lasts me for ages. I use them in both the shower and the bath and I love the way they make my skin feel and smell.
The bars are oval shaped and have the Dove log indented on the top of every new bar, though this soon disappears after it's been used a few times. The bars contain one quarter moisturising cream and they are less harsh than cheaper ordinary soap bars. They lather really well and feel rich and creamy and very luxurious on my skin. I personally use these crème bars on my face and they don't leave my face feeling tight or stretched like some bars containing just pure soap can do. I really hate that as I feel that they can strip the skin of all its natural oils.
The smell is great, light and fresh and creamy and it lasts for ages on my skin after I have used this soap in the bath or the shower. One bar lasts me about four weeks so they are great value for money and I also love the little cardboard boxes they come in, rather than plastic or cellophane. Great luxury soap and well worth the money.
Never have I come across a soap so creamy and moisturising that has a wonderful scent to it as well as texture. Not only this but dove by far lasts the longest compared to any other soap I have ever used. It produces a good lather and most importantly doesn't dry out your hands. I my self am guilty of overlooking the importance of taking care of my hand and especially now in the colder weather it is imperative to take care of them as they can dry out and become cracked.
However for me the one downfall of this soap is that I just simply don't feel as clean as I would like after using it. For me cleanliness should be the mane focus of all soaps yet instead for this I feel they have concentrated more of the moisturising side of thing. I know this is probably just a personal thing and many other would disagree but for me it is very hard to overlook.
Nevertheless I would still definitely use this product occasionally as many soaps do dry out the skin.
