“ Brand: Avon / Type: Soap „
This is a review of Avon Senses Serenity Liquid Soap which we received for Christmas and began to use immediately in our downstairs toilet. I had used the hand wash at my mother in law's house (who is also an Avon rep) and thought how nice it was but hadn't said it out loud so I was quite surprised to receive this in my Christmas toiletries from her.
What is it?
The Avon Senses Serenity Liquid Soap is a calming hand wash with passion fruit, musk and sandalwood. The bottle is 300ml and has a pump top dispenser which is handy when washing hands. The packaging is clear plastic so recyclable when finished with and also I like the clear bottle so you can see how much is left inside.
One pump dispenses plenty of soap when washing hands. We are potty training the two year old at the moment and each trip to the loo includes a luxury hand washing experience, even for the false alarms! The soap also gets my husband's vote who commented on the smell of it.
I like the smell of this and it is quite strong, and a little masculine I think. The package and soap is orange coloured which is not one of my favourite colours but I can live with it in the world of soap. I like the amount of lather this produces and find it washes hands well. I also think it dries out your hands a little, I have noticed around 20 minutes after washing my hands really feel like they need hand cream on them so I think it must strip the natural oils from your skin. I don't mind this particularly as I always have hand cream handy in my bag for when I am on the go and by the sink when at home so it's no big deal to apply the cream.
The 300ml bottle retails at £2 but it is often on offer so look out for deals in the brochure.
I like this soap, we have all enjoyed using it and I would be happy to use again in the future. I probably won't purchase it as I don't really buy from Avon but I will give feedback to my MIL on how nice it was!
I would previously avoid any Avon products like the plague due to the many disappointments I've experienced in the past with using their products. However, with a work colleague being a representative I frequently find her leaving one of the latest brochures on my desk. As a result, I have found myself being drawn to some of the products and over the past few months I have spent a small fortune with my opinion of the brand gradually beginning to improve. I have purchased quite a few of the liquid soaps from their Senses range with this review discussing Serenity.
I must admit that when my order was handed to me I was really disappointed with the 300 ml sturdy transparent container as when I studied it carefully I noticed its vanilla content, which I had missed when ordering from the brochure. The appearance of the bright orange liquid soap together with the matching pump dispensing unit gives the product a real sense of warmth. In addition, the stunning and tranquil beach image with its radiant sun creates the illusion of peace, harmony and happy times.
Due to my dislike of the aroma of vanilla I was initially a little apprehensive in using the product, but determined to try it out before dismissing it totally, I pressed the pump, which released a sufficient amount of the good consistency liquid soap. The aroma that greeted me was absolutely gorgeous with its uplifting passion fruit, which in my opinion, gives a zingy and very zesty orange aroma. Whilst it is claimed that the aroma of both sandalwood and musk have been included, I cannot admit to witnessing either of these scents nor could I recognise any vanilla, which I was pleased about.
The liquid soap creates a sufficient lather when introduced to water and is highly effective at removing dirt, grease and grime. It is easily rinsed away without leaving any sticky or tacky residue and similar to my experience with the other liquid soaps in the Senses range, I suffered no issues with dryness. A point I favour is that the gorgeous refreshing aroma gently lingers on my skin for a short while after use making this fragrance a real favourite of mine.
I would previously decant all of my hand washes into china dispensers, but the pretty bottle does not look out of place when situated next to the sink. I can highly recommend Avon Senses Serenity Liquid Soap and as a consequence, it receives 5 stars from me. The product should be used within 12 months of using with the container being recyclable once empty.
The price is somewhat off putting as each 300 ml bottle will cost you £2.00, which I feel is too expensive. However, at the time of writing, Avon is offering this product for £1.25 both online and from a local representative.
I hope you found my review useful and thanks for reading.
