“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Biscuits „
I eat tons of sweet things as I have a sweet tooth and I am always looking around for non branded as well as branded biscuits and cakes and I came across these in Tesco and thought I would give them a try and see how they tasted. They are delicious and for the very low price of just 64p for 400g I thought it was very good value for money. They are in a basic plastic Tesco Value wrapper and inside the biscuits are an oblong shaped 3 inches x 2 inches approximately and they are sprinkled with sugar and they taste nice and sweet and they melt in the mouth and they are good for dunking in your tea or coffee or even any hot drink. I opened them last night and I must say there are only half the packet left, and I will have to polish them off today, once I like a biscuit or cake I tend to just have to keep eating them, which is not good but with a nice cup of tea they are delicious. They are a good price for large families and if you are on a budget they are good value and they are a good texture too, I think they is not much difference to the branded ones on this particular biscuit. Per biscuit they contain only 40 calories, 1.9g sugar, 1.7g fat, 0.9g saturates and a trace of salt. For quite a sweet tasting biscuit I do not think 40 calories is too much compared to others, and so it means I can have 2 for probably the same as one other biscuit brand which suits me perfectly. I recommend these to anyone to try and see if you like them as much as I do. I rate them a 5 star.
Nice biscuits are a bit of an essential for me and my biscuit barrel, not quite as essential as dark chocolate digestives but still pretty desired. Packaging is the normal red and white Tesco Value jobby, and the biscuits are normally on the bottom or second to bottom shelf as the value stuff normally is so brings a new meaning to the phrase look high and look low! The packaging is oh so fool proof to open and easy to open wide and whack them all in the biscuit tin which I would recommend gets done otherwise biscuits left open are not good!! They come in one size which is a large 400g size and I cannot remember the full price exactly but must've been about 34p ish, which really is an absolute bargain for such a nice biscut. These lovely rectangular biscuits are coated with a sprinkling with a generous coating of granulated sugar throughout the packet which adds interest to the coconutty taste of the actual biscuit. In my opinion I believe these taste exactly the same no matter what brand you buy. I am convinced they all roll off the conveyor belt exactly the same and they just happen to be packaged differently. All Nice biscuits are born equal and it just depends on what packet they get put into at the time!! This is the kist of what I got from my dad who used to work at a biscuit factory which I happened to visit one day. I recommend not paying a penny more than you have to for anything and you certainly do not have to spend more buying different brands as these biscuits are lovely with a good cup of tea and you will not be disappointed. Get one put in your trolley!! Summary 10 out of 10
Nice biscuits are ok but they're a bit boring. Whatever brand you get they all taste the same so we always get the 400g Tesco Value packs for 64p. These Nice biscuits are yummy, we've had all the different cheapo Nice biscuits and I like these the best because you can dunk them in a coffee without them falling to bits in seconds. They haven't got much of a coconut flavour but they are lovely and sweet with a wicked sugary texture. They are nice and crunchy but go a bit dry in a couple of hours of opening the pack even if you keep them in the biscuit tin. I love them though, it's mad because it's not very often I eat them because there's always something more exciting in the biscuit tin! lol I'd prefer it if they tasted a bit more of coconut but I'm not going to knock any stars off for that because that's my personal taste. I think these Nice are a nice size, they're a bit bigger I think than other Nice biscuits and that's good but then I think they're a bit flatter. I love the taste of them when you dip them in coffee because they suck the coffee flavour in and the biscuit goes lovely and soft. I don't think you should pay extra for this kind of biscuit because whatever brand you buy they all taste the same. There's enough in this pack to more than half fill the biscuit tin and even though they're not madly exciting at least there's always something there when the cookies and chocolate digestives have gone! lol
