Crisps.... Wonderful, crunchy, salty things that can be eaten anywhere! Yes I love them, but only if they are flavoured properly! Being a Walkers eater I was some what dubious if I should go for Tesco's new Walkers Wannabes called Temptations.... Almost sounds likes Sensations, but cheaper than even buying the two for £2 as they are 95p! So here I am, eating Temptations and thinking I am so glad I didn't let my snobbery stop me buying a bag! The bag..... Well it is very similar to the Sensations Range..... This particular one is Roast chicken, garlic and herb.... Sounds remarkably similar to the Walkers one, but with a major difference.. Garlic.. Yum! There is a picture in black and white of tonnes of potatoes with a countryside view in the background. A giant Tesco logo is at the top with the writing on a bright orange rectangle but there is colour pictures of some raw garlic, some herb which looks like parsley but I could be wrong and some crisps! And a giant "new!" emblazoned on a red background.... All this on a white bag. It doesn't look as posh as the Walkers bags, but similar in a cheaper, tackier way! All the nutritional gubbins is on the back..... Strangely suitable for vegetarians as it only contains flavourings rather than any real chicken, I can only assume the yeast extract is where they get the chicken taste from! Oh and good old paprika for the colouring. The back is rather dull to look at so I will just let you know that there are 150g per bag... And that this is 6 servings (yeah right.. Have they actually tried to sit there and just eat a sixth of a bag!) Per serving it works out to 130 kcal and 8.4g fat and the equivalent of 1g of salt! There the boring stuff out the way... On with the actual crisps :o) The smell is just what you would expect them to smell like.... A roast chicken, done with herbs and garlic! Almost like I have just opened the oven door at Sunday dinner t ime... Mmmmmm yummy! Each crisp is a good normal crisp size and a lovely golden colour, with a smattering of green specks, which can only be the herbs.... I did check the sell by date... So I am sure it can't be anything but herbs! There aren't as many specks on these as the Walkers version, and I am sure the crisps are slightly thicker... I would do a micrometer reading for you, but as I have neither a micrometer or a bag of Walkers about at the moment, you will just have to take my word on this :oP They taste.............. Well they taste lovely... If anything I would say better than the ones they are trying to copy! It must be the addition of the garlic. They taste as you would expect them to taste, not too overpowering in the flavouring, but maybe too salty for some, not for me though as I love salty. A few generous handfuls and I have had enough (for now) and the bag goes safely back into the crisp cupboard, to be revisited at a later time :oP As it is now the later time... I will let you know that the crisps remained fresh in the bag, no sogginess at all.... And I still have a few left which I am sure will be gone by the time I have watched a film or a bit of telly this evening :o) Overall I think I will be deserting the Walkers Chicken Sensation crisps in favour of these. They are nicer and cheaper... Even if the bag doesn't look as good.... But what would I care about what the bag looks like.... It is the crisps I want :oP Happy snacking Sarah :o)
