Nice but not for long. Don't fix what ain't broke!

Skips multipacks crisps are currently on offer in my local Tesco, so the other day I thought I would treat myself to some of my favourite crisp-based snax. But what is this? Different flavoured Skips? I would have to give these a go, I thought! With 3 flavours of Original Prawn Cocktail, 3 of Sizzling Bacon and 3 of Utterly Cheesey, plus one bonus of the aforementioned included, this multi-pack on the surface looks a tasty buy when it is on offer! Of course, I have tried the other flavours before, just not for a while, and had so forgotten exactly what they were like. The answer to that question is okay...but the two newer varities are not what I call REAL Skips!! The sizzling bacon flavour are quite tasty and a bit like the bastard offspring between a Skip and a Frazzle! They are high on flavour, not strong enough to be too over-powering (remember Scampi Fries and the fishy fingers THEY gave you?) but unfortunately, for me, really not all that special. Nice as a change, I was glad my daughter and wife shared the last two packets as one in this multi-pack was enough for me! Utterly Cheesey are likewise okay but this time taste like my favourite crisp has copulated with an extra cheesey mini-cheddar and produced a litter of mongrels! Yes they are okay in a Quaver kind of way but I didn't buy Quavers, I bought Skips!!! Pleasent enough, the whole while you eat these you sit there thinking well they're nice but they should really be tasting of Prawny Cocktail! There seems something fundamentally wrong about changing such a classic and well-established formula and though it is a nice idea, really doesn't pull together for me! If you are buying these just for yourself- don't bother! You will soon bore of the novelty of these different flavoured floaty-light snax! If buying for the family, it's not so bad as you can have one of each flavour then palm off the rest to the family while you scoff the PC ones! To be honest, the only multi-pack I buy from now on will be the all PC ones!
