      Smartprice wins!

I was forced to buy these when Asda had sold out of my usual Smart Price Tortillas, see my review on those if you want to compare, and so chose to buy these as the next cheapest option.

I was going to serve them as nachos with chill-con-carne over the top and a sprinkle of grated cheese as I would normally with the value packet. However I changed my mind as I did not think these would be thick enough and was sure they would just turn into a mushy goo - this feeling was correct and so I served them separately on the side.

They were much pleasanter to eat alone, they were not overly salted, weren't heavy in texture, and had a good crunch to them when bitten. These would be really nice when used with a dip for snacking with a movie.

There are no colours, flavours, preservatives or hydrogenated fats which is always good. However 50g of tortillas on their own contains 244kcal and 11.7g of fat, this seems quite alot especially considering most people can eat at least half a pack in one go. So not a very healthy snack and don't forget the additional calories if you're dipping them.

A 200g bag was around the £1 mark which is double the price of the SmartPrice ones, and considering I prefer to have them that little thicker so they go less soggy with the chilli, I will stick with the cheaper one. Although I stated dipping these in houmous and that was rather tasty but with any hope I won't be continuing that fattening pastime!
