      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Overall a good phone. If you get a good deal, don't avoid it. You will not regret.

Sony Ericsson is a very popular brand amongst mobile phone marketplace. In the last years they brought on the market very much and good devices. At their time, some of those were top-notch and they still meet today's requirements. Maybe the most popular series from them was the 2011 Xperia Line. This included good phones for all budgets. From Xperia X8 and Xperia Mini, to Xperia Arc S and Neo V.

In this article I will write about Xperia Arc S. I got one of those one month ago. After using it at all activities I could, I think I'm able to write some words about it. But, this isn't gonna be the typical review with pros and cons just because we are almost in the year 2014. This phone was launched in 2011. This article will clarify if this device is still able to make itself useful, even today, almost 3 years later.

Let's talk about the look. The phone looks stunning. With very nice details and the rounded shape, it is one of my favourite devices from the look's point of view. I look at it and I am still surprised about how good it can look, but also feel. One thing I don't like. I got the white one, and it's like a fingerprint magnet. It doesn't bother me too much because I have a silicone cover, but still.

Going forward to features, this device still suits almost all my needs. The lack of the frontal camera is a little disadvantage but I definitely survive without video calls. The phone got a 8MP camera that's able to capture HD pictures and HD movies at 30 frames per second. Very good. Also, the presence of flashlight is a pro here because photos look very very good even at night. Also it got an accelerometer, light sensor, mini-HDMI port to showcase my media stuff on my plasma TV and so on. It's display is very good. Is 4.2" and crystal clear. It's not big, but also not small. Just good for every need.

As you seen, it looks, feels and work like a current-gen device, but it's performance can match one of those? Maybe not. Equiped with a 1,4Ghz Snapdragon CPU and 512mb of RAM, this phone is far enough from good. When I say good I mean at least Dual-Core CPU and minimum 1GB of RAM. The Arc S, also don't have any official active support on the software are. The last official software available for this device is Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. I would recommend to use Android 2.3.4 because it's not such a performance hog.

So far so good. This phone is a very good looking one that doesn't lack most of required functions of a common user. It's performance isn't the best available but let's consider the year of launch. Overall, this device is good. Still good to make impression. I can play almost every game found on Google Play, so no problems here. The are some drawbacks and lags but it's just a phone.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        overpriced and shoddy

I got my sony Ericsson xperia arc s in april 2012 and to begin with it was amazing. It was the first time I had a phone worth more than £150 so as you can imagine, I was amazed by all the things my new phone could do. However....The first thing that went wrong with this phone was the charger port. In october 2012 it broke and could no longer charge. I sent it back to sony and was charged £60 to get it fixed! Not what I expected after buying a phone worth over £300! I protested a bit but sony wouldnt give in so I had to pay. Then, in june 2013 (10 months before I can upgrade) my phone was accidentally dropped and the internal touch screen mechanism broke. I have been quote £90 to get this fixed but refuse to spend any more money on this phone! Finally, the internal phone memory is shocking, it was constantly getting full up, to the point where the phone couldnt even function so I was having to clear data and delete unused apps constantly. The only 2 apps I had on the phone was facebook and twitter, which couldnt be moved to the sd card and after numerous updates the phone couldnt cope with either so they had to be deleted. I regret getting such an expensive phone whenitt is incapable of doing simple tasks like store a couple of social media apps!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Would recommend the phone, no main disadvantages unless your a big app user.

My time first started when I got my Arc S on contract from December 2011, Before I had the Sony Ericsson Xperia and I am someone who enjoys the new excitement of a phone and learning the new phone features but was disappointed that it was almost exactly the same as my old phone.
The advantages that I personally love about the Arc S: its a thin phone and does fit nicely in your jeans pocket which I find super handy, it has easy view of what you choose to show on the home screen and can lay it out as you want, also the battery is very good on the phone.
What I think the disadvantages are of the Arc S is if your someone like me that is a big user of apps, then the phone memory is very small and ive got a 16gb memory card in, but there is a lot of data and apps that cant be moved to the memory card therefore uses up the phone memory. Also a must is that you have to download a task manager otherwise all the apps and things you use like messaging stay open in the background, which uses up the battery.
Well in a overall view though its been a pretty good phone, Ive never had any problems with it and use it often, I would recommend it to someone that wants a phone for texting and calling, the camera and basic apps, but maybe not for someone who wants to use it to a full advantage.
