I wanted to book tickets for Orb 360 for a hen do in March 2012. I spoke with someone on the telephone who said that they were having problems with their booking database, they would be open on the date in March and I would have no problem booking. The guy took my details and said he would ring me back in the next couple of days. I didn't hear anything so used their enquiries/contact link on their website and emailed them, asking whether I could book for the hen do. No response. I emailed again a couple of weeks later, asking for them to respond and whether I should be looking for alternative operators, no response. I kept trying to ring and received no answer, until today when I was informed that they are not opening until April!!!! So I have wasted weeks hoping to get something booked as originally I was informed they would be open in March and now we will have to find something else to do at really short notice! Really poor customer service.
I organised my stag party with orb360 this year. I was giving great customer service when I rang up to book. The girl offered me discount and arranged a minibus to pick us up and take us there. There were 16 of us all together and all the lads were looking forward to it. We also hired a BBQ that they ha there and just took food along to cook. The orbing site i amazing, the views of Brighton and the South Downs are awesome. This added to our fab afternoon and the heatwave in April made the aqua obing perfect. Staff were great and we had a few beers in the pub next door.
My boyfriend bought me a voucher for my birthday and we decided to use it before the winter sets in. I think they only open until the end of october. We arrived about half an hour early and were told it wasnt a problem and that we could go straight away. I thought that was quite nice even though i was petrified! We hired cameras to film it and were told they would be emailed to us afterwards. The staff were great, the venue was good and and all round great day out!
After reading a few reviews I felt it was important to highlight there are lots of people that seem to be writing bad reviews and spamming them. I think this is unfair when there are lots of people out there that have visited orb360 and had a really good time. I got a voucher for orbing and mountain boarding. The only thing about that i would say ws not so great is that you can only use it on a Friday and Sunday. Nevermind. We managed to get in a few weeks ago and had been cancelled a couple of times due to bad weather. (Again this is not something they can control and they certainly dont want to do!) The good thing is that when you get a voucher or make abooking i was told that you have a whole year in which to use it which I think is pretty good. Seeing as the UK weather is so unpredictable I think thats a fair thing to do. All the staff were friendly and helpful and to be honest even though there were a few problems the whole day out was great fun. I was glad to experience orbing and the mountain boarding was awesome.
I definitely have to advise against booking anything at this place and paying money in advance, especially if you're not a resident of the area: My harness ride (for 2 people)was cancelled due to unsuitable weather conditions (consider wind, too!!!) and as I was in the area on holiday for a short time only, I couldn't do it at all. I asked for at least a partial refund of my 50 quid, which was rudely rejected. I was briefly instructed to sell my voucher on ebay... where nobody happens to be interested, of course. The customer service of Orb360 is extremely unhelpful, they will respond after about 2 or 3 weeks, and if you've got a complaint or inconvenient request they won't answer at all. I was really looking forward to the ride, but ended up paying a lot of money for NOTHING. If that's how they earn their money... fair enough. I can imagine that the experience might be great, but getting it is the hardest part!
I JUST CAME ACROSS THESE REVIEWS ABOUT ORB360 AND I'M AMAZED TO READ FEW OF THEM AS I HAD A GREAT TIME WITH ORB360...I CAME DOWN FROM SHREWSBURY FOR A WHOLE DAY WITH MY FAMILY AND IT WAS WORTHWHILE OUR JOURNEY.WE TRIED BOTH ORBS AND THEY WERE AMAZING!THE HARNESS ONE IS THE LONGEST RIDE IN THE COUNTRY!ALL THE STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL AND THE GUY WHO WAS OUR MOUNTAIN BOARD INSTRUCTOR WAS VERY GOOD AS WELL.WE ACTUALLY MET THE MANAGING DIRECTOR WHEN WE WERE SIGNING IN AND HE WAS GREAT TO US EVEN THOUGH WE WERE A BIT LATE.I DON'T THINK HE WOULD BE RUDE TO ANYONE WITHOUT REASON...SO ALL YOU PEOPLE SHOULD JUST FIND OTHER THINGS TO DO THAN TALKING BADLY ABOUT SOMEONE OR A COMPANY WITHOUT LISTENING TO THEIR SIDE TO THE STORY.I WOULD RECOMMEND ORB360 TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO SPEND A DAY ON ONE OF THE PRETTIEST SITE IN THE UK AND DO FUN ACTIVITIES!
After reading the 3 other reviews I couldnt disagree more with what has been written. I had nothing but positive things to say about my day out at Orb360. I had booked a stag do in May and had travelled down from London for the weekend. I got a call on the Friday night from a member of staff who informed me that the high winds and heavy rain would make it unsafe for us to have a go on Saturday. We were really gutted but were offered Sunday to come instead. I took the offer up and the guy on the phone said he would make sure we had a good time and offered us the BBQ facility for free and a head camera for the stag to be filmed. On the day we were greeted by friendly people in the office and when we walked to the orbing place there were some really nice staff who were very helpful. they made our afternoon fun and in the end we had a great day. After looking at their terms and conditions I think they did the best thing with the situation. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
This was booked as part of my stag weekend, we were in Brighton enjoying the sunshine and other event that were planned. My best man discovered a missed call after our round of golf asking for him to call Orb360. When he called they explained that due to high winds the event was going to have to be cancelled, we would have to rebook. He explained that we couldnt/didnt want to rebook but would have a refund and do something else. The man on the phone didnt think this would be a problem but we would have to talk to the office staff monday-friday (it was a saturday) We contuinued our weekend and had a brilliant time. Come monday we rang and were told that we could not have a refund and would have to rebook as the site was waterlogged. We explained that we were in the area on the day and it was glorious sunshine and also that they had cancelled and suggested we could have our money back. We also explained that our goup had come together for a stag weekend and some of us had travelled from abroad to be there, its not like we could do this any weekend. Anyway to cut a long story short after many letters/emails and phone calls we managed to get 90% back. When we questioned what possible reason could there be for them keeping the 10% we were verbally attacked and told not to contact them again as the money they kept was only £5 per person! They added that if we did call again they would 'consider it harrassment' and pass on our details to their legal dept. As another review stated they have many depts but seem to be lacking a customer service team! Its a real shame as we were really up for it but the dealings we had just felt very amaterish and unprofessional. Unfortunately I can not comment on the event itself as we never did it.
I was given an Orb360 gift voucher, worth £50, for my birthday. I didn't notice that the voucher had a 6-month expiry date, written in very small writing at the bottom. When I called to see if they could make an exception, I was told: "If we make an exception for you, we'd have to do it for everyone." Hmmm... so this has obviously happened to other customers... I was asked to write to the 'Managing Director', who would make a decision. This was that as a concessionary offer I could buy the gift again at half price! Out running on the Downs soon after, I happened to see they have an office installed in the side of the Devils Dyke Tavern. I thought I'd ask again in person, not believing they could really take that stance. After waiting for 10 minutes at the window as the guy inside, fully aware of my presence, continued to work on his computer (rude!), I explained the situation again and was told that my gift voucher was so old it would be too complicated for the IT Department to handle. Managing Director? IT Department? Just how big IS Orb360? Customer Service department - that's what they need. This company took money for goods they did not, and now refuse to, deliver. They are a terrible example of a Brighton business and an embarrassment to the multitude of other small businesses in Brighton who pride themselves on their customer service and ability to treat customers as individuals, not just pound signs.
I have been to several zorbing experiences before and Orb360's customer service has been the worst. Unfortunately we missed our experience due to diversions and we hadn't been to Brighton before. We called their number non-stop prior to our appointment to explain the situation but the phone rang out and we were unable to get help or directions. As we were still attempting to locate the premises 15mins after our appointment we received a call from the instructor (who was really nice) saying perhaps we could reschedule considering no help was available and to contact their main web address to explain the situation. However when we did they refused a refund or to reschedule and were extremely unhelpful with numerous emails going back and forth that refused to accept responsibility for the companies lack of assistance and they in fact told us that we did receive telephone instructions ???!!! Anyway I've been before but it completely ruined the experience for the birthday surprise and obviously the loss of funds. I would NOT personally book with them again as the way they handled the situation and response was not what I expect from a professional company.
