Dear Dooyoo Community, I would like to write some words about the Central Library of Manchester. It is located right in the heart of the city. When I was looking for a nice place to study and borrow books I was recommended that great library and I couldn´t wait to get in because it just looked so amazing from the outside, a very fascinating building constructed almost like a dome or opera house. **** Central Reference Library (Manchester)**** **** Facts about it *** Manchester Central Library St. Peter's Square Manchester M2 5PD Telephone: 0161 234 1900 (switchboard) Fax: 0161 234 1963 *** How to join *** You can join the library at any counter on any floor by simply filling out a register form. You don´t need to be a resident of the UK, but in that case you should be able to have any document of proof that you are located in the UK and show your passport. Borrowing books is free and you can keep them for up to three weeks which I find quite long (some libraries in Germany want their books back after one week...). I would reccomend this library to anybody interested in culture and history, language or arts. It has a huge range of different topics and you can spend hours walking along the big book shelves or sitting at the big tables studying. The personnel is very helpful and friendly and the coffee in the cafeteria is quite okay. You can also lock away you personal things so that you can totally concentrate on the books. *** Thank you for reading my review!!! ***

it's been many years since I sat down in this fabulous old building to write an essay or two for my economics degree. The central reference area is perhaps the most spectacular of any of the libraries in the Uk. the huge dome structure provides dazzling acoustics and the silence is deafening. What struck me most about the facility was that it contained every book aver published in this country. You simple fill in a form and about 15 minutes later, the book is delivered to your workspace. You can request articles from newspapers from any year- impressive , or what?
