      a lovely idea but pricey

I own more pairs of UGG boots than I care to count so when I received these as a gift for my unborn baby I was thrilled. They come in a cute little box which is magnetic and has a plastic window in the front so you can see what you are buying. It looks lovely as a gift.

They are widely available and you are looking at paying around £60-£70 for them. This seems quite steep as adilt ones aren't all that more expensive. They are, like adult uggs, available in different colours. The ones I was bought eere in the chestnut brown colour.

When you take them out the box they are a lovely soft suede with really fluffy sheeps wool lining. They have a velcro fastening on the side with the ugg brand label. The bottom of these shoes are soft so they are not suitable for walking babies. This is why they aren't practical. By the time they fit my daughter she was walking so she never really got to wear them, we did try putting them on her before she walked but they were just too big. I wouldnt even really use them in the houee because there are no grips at all on the bottom so I wouldnt of felt them safe for her. Itmight be different in a smaller size , we had them in medium, but they do come up quite big. The medium fit my daughter at about 1 year old.

All in all it wouldnt of been something I would of bought myself unless they had a sold bottom and allowed my daughter to walk in them. They are lovely quality and gorgeous material but quite pricey for what they are.

A snug and cosy bootie, which fits well and looks very stylish for indoor / pram use

I bought these booties, the UGG Erin style, as part of my UGG obsession. I wanted a soft-soled bootie for my 11 month old as she wasn't walking yet but the weather was very chilly. Thus my main aims in a bootie were that they would protect her feet, be cosy and look stylish. These really did fit the bill!

The sizing of the Erins is a bit tricky if you are buying online, but there is a good chart on th eUGG Australia website that can help. Because they are soft soled and made of sheepskin, there is some give in the shoe too, so that you can get quite a bit of wear out of them (within reason!) as your child's foot grows. It is easy to tell if they fit because they are soft so you can just squeeze your child's foot lightly with them on to determine where the toes are (if they are not too ticklish that is!)

      XS - 0.5 (0-6months)
      S - 2 (6-12months?)
      M - 4 (12-18months?)
      L - 5-6 (18-24months?)
(all sizes are infant ones; the ages are a guideline only, these are not provided by UGG and all kids' feet grow differently so go by the size not the age)

I bought the Erins in a medium size (M), which is supposed to equate to around an infant size 4. These were fine on my daughter, who was in a 3.5 shoe at the time, maybe slightly big at first so I would say true to size, and certainly I wouldn't size up. They fasten with a little velcro at the side, where the "UGG Australia" logo badge is, which enables you to get a good fit - you can place your child's foot inside and then fasten around the ankle so it should stay put. This was one of the only drawbacks to this bootie - it would be quite easy to lose one as they can be pulled off easily by little ones.

The comfort of the product is second to none. The 100% sheepskin feels exactly as you would expect it to. It is soft, luxourious and warm. I loved these booties as they were great to pop on with a pramsuit for going out - I often quickly put them on without socks for the school run, knowing that her feet would be cosy and comfy. They were also great for wearing around the house or at toddler groups to protect feet flexibly. That brings me to the other drawback - the sole is 100% an indoor one. It is made from the same sheepskin as the rest, and you won't even want to rest the child standing up on the ground outside e.g. while getting out of car as they will quickly get ruined if you do. I didn't find this a problem, but it may be for some.

The boots come in a lovely little box with UGG banding and a window to see the product. They would definitely make a lovely gift as they look great in their packaging! They also have a certificate of authenticity in the box.
