“ Brand: Topshop / Type: Pumps „
I love the ballet pumps that Topshop sell, and I have many pairs from there, from the plain to the studded to the patterned. I spotted these Topshop 'Vampire' crocodile effect print ballet pumps recently, and tried them on, they looked really cute on, and when I spotted the price - just £18, I was instantly making my way to the till clutching the red pair. I do find that the ballet pumps in Topshop are slightly on the small side, I'm normally a size 5 in most shoes, and occasionally I can even get away with a 4. I actually have to buy Topshop ballet pumps, including these Vampire ballet pumps, in a size 6 though. I think that the problem is that they are quite narrow, which is why I need to go up to a size 6 as I have little fat feet! Having said that though the size 6 doesn't look odd and is comfortable to wear. Initially I did find that these Vampire ballet pumps were still very slightly on the tight side, even in the size 6. However the material of the pumps is so soft that it just took a couple of wears to stretch and give slightly, and now they are the perfect fit and very comfortable. These are not actually leather pumps, they are a polyurethane material, and they don't really look like leather either due to the crocodile effect pattern on the pumps. This is obviously reflected in the low price though, as they are just £18. These come in two colours; the red that I bought which is pictured above, and black. I liked both colours, but I felt that the red was a little bit funky and different. I'll probably end up going back for the black as well though! These are gorgeous little shoes and look exactly like a ballerinas ballet pumps complete with the little tie bow detail on the front and the cotton trim around the pumps. However they are then brought bang up to date and given a funky look by the crocodile effect print on the pumps. The crocodile effect is a shiny patent finish and so this makes it stand out more than it would if it were a matt finish. My only gripe with the crocodile print is that because it is a shiny patent finish it shows up scuffs and scratches very easily which won't buff out. I've got quite a few scuffs and scratches on mine already and they're just over a month old. These look good dressed up or down, and they can instantly glam an outfit up, or create a very funky casual look, depending what you choose to wear them with. They look good with anything, I typically wear them with skinny jeans, leggings, shorts, maxi dresses, shorter dresses, skirts, basically they look good with most things and they are a very versatile little pair of shoes. These are so comfortable, they are just like wearing a pair of slippers, the material is so super soft that it moulds to your feet, and there's no hard edges to rub or irritate your feet. I can wear these all day with no discomfort whatsoever, and it doesn't feel like I've had anything on my feet. My other gripe with these ballet pumps is that the soles are just a very thin plastic sole, I'm very heavy footed and so I find that I always wear the soles down very quickly on ballet shoes from Topshop and it looks like I'll probably do the same with these ones too. Another negative about the sole is that because it is so thin you can feel some stones and cobbles through the sole. I am pleased with these crocodile effect ballet pumps, even though I seem to have pointed out a few faults; the scuffing, the thin sole, they probably won't last long. I would recommend them, and I would buy another pair, like I mentioned I'll probably end up going back to Topshop for the black pair. I love the crocodile effect print, and these are supremely comfortable (providing you aren't walking over uneven ground).
