I saw a review for these this time last year and I liked the look of them. When it came to the autumn, I remembered the boots I had seen and decided to order myself a pair to keep my feet warm over the winter. I like the style of suede Ugg style boots, but cannot justify the price tag of that style of footwear and wasn't entirely sure how much I would wear them or if I would look after them properly. This was a good compromise as they are the same sort of look at a small fraction of the price. I paid just £16 for my pair. I went for a black pair with two buttons. They are also available in grey and chestnut. You can also get the same boot with a toggle fastening instead. I did want the toggle fastening, but I found that it was never available in my size and I couldn't get hold of them. The buttons on my black pair are brown and wooden looking. The outer of my boot is all a black suede type material, and it is lined with a man made fleecey black lining. The sole is a thick rubber one. I have found that these provide excellent grip on frosty mornings. I have not had chance to try them out in snow this year. I ordered in a size 7. Most advice online said go for a size smaller, but I didn't fancy doing this when buying shoes online. My boots are a little big for me, but as long as I wear a thick pair of socks I am ok. I do slip around a bit in them when wearing thinner socks. I could have got away with a smaller pair I reckon. These boots have been extremely comfortable from day one. I have worn them a few times to go on days out with my family where I have done a lot of walking and my feet have not got too hot, and I haven't had any discomfort at all. The lining is so soft it is like slipping on a pair of slippers. I've avoided going out in my boots in torrential rain, but I have worn them in drizzle, and they have got a little muddy. I find maintenance is quite easy. I tend to use a damp cloth to wipe off any mud, and leave them to dry naturally if they get a bit wet. I have never absolutely soaked them as I don't want them to spoil. My only issue with the boots has been that I find myself catching the toe of the sole on the pavement quite frequently when I am walking. I don't know if this is because my boots are a little big, but I find it a bit annoying. However, the boots are fabulous quality as this has not pulled the sole away or even scuffed it. These boots look best when worn with leggings or jeans really. I have worn them with black trousers to run out the house quickly, and it just doesn't look quite right. Overall, for the price of these boots, I cannot give anything other than a 5* rating. They have been worn so much this winter, and I will be putting them away when the weather gets warmer in a like new condition so they will last a good few years. There is no point paying more when you can get such good value from these boots.
Spy Love Womens Suede Fur Sheepskin Style Flat Ankle Boots "Valeria" Amazon- £15.99 plus £3.95 postage There is no doubt that this has been the wettest few months I can remember here in Essex. Only yesterday I decided to water the lettuce seedlings that have been overwintering in my greenhouse, and on picking up my two metal watering cans to fill them I noticed they were full to the brim with rain water already! Needless to say that this weather has demanded some strong winter footwear, as not only have we had endless rain, but also some very low temperatures as well as snow to contend with. Last September I was looking on Amazon to see if I could find some comfortable boots to see me through the coming seasons. I wasn't looking for high heeled boots- I have those but reserve them for times when I want to look really fashionable, but most of the time I favour comfort over fashion. I noticed some rather cosy looking boots with the rather long name " Spy Love Womens Suede Fur Sheepskin Style Flat Ankle Boots "Valeria" over on Amazon, and carefully scoured the reviews of the product that Amazon allows to be displayed underneath. I was very impressed with the 4.5* rating awarded to these boots, and that together with the low price of £15.99 plus £3.95 delivery convinced me of the need to try these out for myself - and I am so glad that I need for reasons I will explain during the course of this review. Quick Delivery --------------------- Delivery was very quick so I was very impressed with the marketplace seller " So You Shoes" who uses the Amazon shop front, and packaging was good and solid. This high quality delivery is reflected accurately in the 4.7 out of 5 feedback rating this seller has built up over 5638 sales in the last 12 months. My Opinion ---------------- I have very wide feet and boots can be an issue with me as my calves are quite chunky too, so I am always nervous about buying shoes and boots online. I also don't own a lot of pairs as I hate storing them, so tend to use them and lose them fairly frequently, so like to keep the costs down whilst still seeking quality. These boots are fantastic. They are wide fitting and are lined with the most gorgeous soft fur lining, and are as warm as toast. Comfort wise they fit snugly and are ideal for trudging through snow and ice as they have an excellent grip underneath. In the recent snowy weather I felt safe and warm outside wearing them, and they have given an excellent performance all through the winter months especially on ice. What I love about this range is the choice of styles and colours. You can choose black chestnut or grey, and these can be with either button or toggle closures. I chose grey and the button closures which are lovely, as I have a grey White Stuff winter jacket that I love and which goes with them perfectly, but the other colours are lovely as are the toggle option styles. Having spent some time reading the reviews I ascertained that they were generous in sizing so I went for my normal size 6 and there was still plenty of room for thick winter socks to be worn underneath. I was so grateful for this information as I think a 7 would have been too big. Boots of this quality are normally very expensive indeed and I think these are incredible value as I can vouch for their ability to handle all weather conditions, whilst still imparting warmth and comfort. Above all they have excellent longevity attributes- mine are still in excellent condition and could easily cope with another winter or two no problem. I love the chunky nature of these boots that resemble Uggs with their soft sheepskin style lining and solid soles. They look fantastic with jeans and are ideal for dog walking or for winter shopping trips in snowy weather. I used to be a person who bought expensive boots and shoes because many cheaper alternatives were poor quality and were too narrow for my feet. I think in recent years there has been a surge of very high quality manufacturers coming onto the footwear market producing shoes that are of an excellent quality. Deichmann on the high street are superb for boots and shoes at good prices, and these boots are up there with them in my opinion. Quality, warmth, comfort and style for a modest outlay- highly recommended.
