I own quite a few pairs of flat shoes which I wear for work and also a lot of the time at weekends now. I think I have just got used to wearing flatties so much that I find heels uncomfortable to wear and difficult to walk in unless I am not really walking very far. I bought these lovely quilted shoes from New Look and paid £13. The original price is £19.99 but as they are leather I dont think this price is too astronomical.
They come in sizes 3 to 9, and mine are a 5 and fit perfectly. They are not too tight on my feet but also not too loose so I feel I am going to lose them or my feet slip out of the back. I wear my shoes without any socks or pop socks and I can say that apart from the first couple of times when I wore them and just had a slight reddening to my heels they have never given me blisters or any soreness.
They are made from faux leather and are very soft and pliable to the touch. The thing that attracted me to them is the detailed diamond quilting which is all over apart from the toe which is patent. They have a black bow to the front which completes the trendy look. The toes are quite rounded and are very comfortable for me, my toes are not bunched up or restricted at all. Also the insole is quite padded so they feel soft to my feet.
As with all of my shoes I just get a cloth if they have marks on them and wet it slightly and just wipe them over which works fine. I have been known to wet a piece of kitchen roll if I notice they need a bit of a last minute spruce before I leave the house and this also works successfully.
The heel is low but does raise your foot up slightly which makes them more easy to walk in than complete flat shoes, and although the sole is not thick, it is a strong rubber and you don't have to watch where you step like in some shoes which have a very thin sole and you can feel every pavement crack and pebble.
I wear these for work with jeans or combat trousers but I find them smart enough to wear in the evening with my better jeans for going out. I have a black quilted handbag which I will always use on these occasions as I like matching accessories. I would say that these shoes do look expensive as you don't get many cheap shoes which are quilted like these are. I have had people comment on them and asking me where I bought them from.
I have had quite a good wear out of these shoes and they have not worn down on the heel or gone out of shape. There are one or two slight scratches on the patent bit but I think that is to be expected but they are not too bad to really notice unless you look closely.
I think these are a lovely expensive looking pair of shoes that I would highly recommend
At the end of last year I badly needed some flat ballet pumps for dashing about in and I tend to like flat shoes the most really as I get older. These were available at the time to purchase in sizes 3-9 so huge range of sizes to fit most women's feet are available and they came in only one colour option which was a black colour and cost me £20.00 which I though was a reasonable price for such a nice looking shoe that felt really comfortable on and made from Faux Leather and they simple felt great quality and sturdy.
Style wise these are really simple. They fit my foot like a glove, have rubber soles to them which offer rather alot of grip to help me feel safe on the move, they feel really comfortable on and the outside of them is soft faux leather material with stitching to give them a quilted look, little attached bows to the middle centre of where you put your foot into and the toes are rounded but slightly shiny and plain and my toes have plenty of room to wriggle about too.
These for me were true to size in the size 5 that I bought and rather slim fitting which again suited me as I do have really skinny and bony feet. They don't offer alot of support to the soles of the feet though but are thick enough not to feel the street under them too much.
They have worn well even though I have worn them alot, are able to be dressed up or down and haven't gone baggy or loose on me at all and I will get plenty more use from these over the coming months!
Only available from New Look but not on the New Look website any more. I would love these in another colour but sadly as far as I am aware they are not able to be purchased in other colours.....as yet and they do come in slightly different styles too so instead I may have to invest in those in the future when need be!
I paid £20.00 for my pair though do keep your eyes open they are very often on offer at £10.00 a pound apparently, I just have never seen them on sale sadly!

I already have heaps of ballet pumps but when I saw these I just had to have them! The quilted design is really unusual for a pair of shoes and they caught my attention straight away.
They looked a lot smarter as well as more expensive than a plain pair of ballet pumps when I first bought them, however a couple of months after buying them they are looking worse for wear - they're quite battered and scratched because I've worn them so much. I managed to get mine for £10.00 in the New Look summer sale and the retail price is £20.00 which I think is a reasonable price - not extortionate, however they're similar quality to the cheap ballet pumps in Primark which are a quarter of the retail price of these so they aren't the best value for money.
The design is nice and simple while still being quite quirky and they have the same pattern as a barber jacket which are hugely in fashion at the moment. The little bow on the front is a nice touch and the plastic effect on the toe caps add a bit of subtle detailing. The diamond pattern is stitched onto the material well with no loose bits of thread or anything and the pumps, although made from a synthetic material look like real leather - even close up. The material is thick but nice and soft and it doesn't irritate my skin. The pumps are only available in one colour - black which I personally find a disadvantage as I would have preferred a wider choice of colours and also the material over time has started to crease and it is really prominent against the black background. On a plus side the smooth material is easy to clean with a wet wipe.
The rubber sole is very thin and completely flat apart from a slightly raised 1cm ish tall heel which does stop me from feeling too flat footed but it obviously adds no extra height. I don't feel like my feet are particularly supported in these shoes and they feel more like slippers than shoes as they're so flat with thin soles but because of the soft, padded insole they are easy to walk in and don't hurt my feet. Sizes available are UK3-9 I have them in a size five which is my usual size.
At first they were quite tight and stiff, especially around the back of my ankles but they soon loosened off. Unfortunately though after wearing them a few times the sides started to gape a little around the top of my feet and although I was still able to wear them they didn't feel quite as secure and I felt like they might fall off mid-step. Styling them is easy and they're suitable for casual and smart wear. I mainly wear mine with leggings or skinnies but they wouldn't look out of place dressed up a little with a bodycon and tights or work trousers etc - they're really versatile.
I've had these for a couple of months now and although they've lost the shape, are scratched and worn down on the toe area I am not too dissapointed as I got a lot of wear out of them. Had I paid full price I wouldn't be very happy though and I am glad that I got them in the sale. 3/5 Stars.
Last time I was looking for a new pair of pumps I just couldn't find anything I like. Trusting that New Look shoes are pretty good quality and because of a lack of anything else nice I opted for these plain black pumps.
They cost £19.99 but at the time I got 20% off with student discount so they worked out at around £16 which wasn't too bad. I knew I could wear them to work too so was happy to pay this much for a comfortable and versatile shoe.
The shoes are a basic ballet pump style and made in a black faux leather material. Over the body of the shoe there is a diamond pattern stitched into the shoe in almost a quilted style. The pattern isn't all that obvious from far away but adds a little bit of interest to an otherwise boring shoe. To add a little more interest they also have a patent toe and a bow on the top rim by the toes. These details make the shoe a little more interesting but overall the look is a little dull and 'school shoe' like to me.
The sole of the shoe is pretty much flat with a very slight heel to it. This is made from rubber and is pretty flexible which makes them relatively comfortable. I did find them a little tricky to wear in because of the stiff material of the shoe but once I'd worn them in they are pretty comfortable to wear even for long periods. As with any flat shoe you get a bit of aching in your feet but no more than other similarly priced pumps.
I've found these have lasted me pretty well. 4 months down the line and I am still able to wear these with little sign of them falling apart yet. There are dirty marks which show more on black but these could probably be sponged off if I was bothered.
I didn't spend a huge amount on these but probably a bit more than I usually would. I have to say for £20 I'd expect more of a design but for £16 I'm pretty happy with them because they've lasted so well.
Overall, not the most exciting looking shoe but it does the job and doesn't cost too much.
Although I much prefer a high heel pair of shoes I broke my toe last spring and there was a time there where I just couldn't wear a pair for love nor money and had to wear flats. I like flats but I did miss having the extra height and the feeling of a little glamour.
In my search for some nice flats for both work and play I stopped off at New Look which is my favourite high street shoe shop and was lucky to find shelf after shelf of pretty flats.
I got these quilted black pumps because I thought they were nice and simple enough for work but they also had just a little bit extra about them so would be good for wearing with a pair of jeans when I wasn't working.
The shoes cost £19.99 which I think is a really good price for them as they are really well made and sturdy enough to last longer than a few weeks which with some of the cheaper shoes from New Look is all the time that you really get with them.
They are made from faux leather and have an all over quilted diamond pattern to them which is really pretty but not too in your face and outrageous.
On the front they have a patent leather look over the toes and a little tie bow detail. Because they are black they are plain enough at first glance to wear to work etc but these little design details do make the shoes stand out some and look a bit more interesting than just plain black ones would.
They are very comfortable to wear and feel a bit like I am wearing slippers. The only problem that I have found with them is that they don't seem very breathable and my feet do tend to sweat in them. Obviously I can't wear socks with them but I get around this by wearing a little pair of pop socks which makes a huge difference to my feet sweating and sticking in them.
For £19.99 I think these are fab everyday shoes. They can transition from work to going out and they look good with jeans and pants so can be worn on the weekends too. They aren't so boring that you won't want to wear them and even though they are black the patent toes and the quilted pattern give them some interest.
Most importantly they are also extremely comfortable and can be worn for hours on end without causing me grief or giving me sore heels and toes.
New Look pumps
I tend to usually wear flat ballet style pumps for work since high heels are just way too impractical for me and comfort is all important.
I bought these in May and they are still for sale at the full price of £19.99 instore and also online at www.newlook.co.uk. I think they aren't in the sale yet as they are quite a classic style and unlikely to go rapidly out of fashion. They are also suitable for wearing in the summer and autumn months so I think they will be in the sale as the cold weather comes in.
The shoes are black with an all over diamond pattern quilted design and with very soft and pliable material. The pattern quite subtle so the actual diamond pattern isn't overly obvious but it does add a bit of interest rather than them just being very plain black shoes. They have a patent toe design and a very small bow which again adds a bit of detail. The material of the shoes is man made but with a leather look but I haven't found this to be a disadvantage. The sole of the shoe is very flat with a very slight rise at the heel area but nothing that is noticeable and the heels don't make me any taller than my usual height.
The sides of the shoes are quite low which I find to be the only problem because when worn all day they can tend to irritate the sides of my feet especially when I have bare feet. However, that said, they are not tight at the toes of the shoes and haven't as yet given me any blisters or especially sore parts on my feet.
Having worn these shoes several times a week for five months, I can honestly say they are great value for money for everyday shoes and for anyone not wanting to spend a fortune on shoes. The design is plain ballet pumps with added detail and they look good with trousers jeans leggings and skirts. They are plain enough to wear for work and can be made to look slightly more dressy depending on what I wear. As yet they have no scratches or scuffs and whilst they don't look brand new they certainly don't look scruffy.
I would recommend these as good value shoes but they drop a start because I would like the sides to be a bit higher but that could be my feet!
Thanks for reading
I hardly ever where high heeled shoes (unless I am going to a wedding or some other really special occasion or event) so I always buy flats that can be worn both casually during the day or more dressed up on a night out.
I was on the look out for some new black pumps recently that would be good quality so would last me a long time, as I occasionally wanted to wear them for work aswell day wear and on nights out. I scoured lots of shops but couldnt find any that I particularly liked, other than in Primark, but as I said - I wanted some good quality ones that would last and wouldnt fall apart after a months wear.
I came across these in New Look, I dont normally buy shoes from New Look as I find them all to be really uncomfortable, and I think almost every pair of shoes I have bought from there have given me blisters and sore feet and dont really fit me properly. I quite like the quilted style however so when I saw these I decided to try them on and give them a go.
The pumps are made of a black leather (yes actually real leather), with a shiny patent black plastic toe and a little bow on the top/front of the shoe. There is also a black stitched quilted design all over them which is what attracted me to them in the first place. The bottom of the shoe is a black rubbery material that gives good grip and has a slightly raised heel - and I really mean slightly - half a centimetre at the most. The inside of the shoe is a creamy beige faux saude material that feels nice and soft on the feet.
Trying these on I instantly noticed how soft and comfortable they were compared to the usual New Look shoe. They are very flexible and mould perfectly to my feet, I am normally a size 5 1/2 which is why I struggle to get shoes that fit me perfectly but the size 6 in these fitted a treat. I have been wearing them for a week not with no blisters or sore bits where they have been rubbing. They look perfect with whatever I wear them with, they are so versatile! And they look very cute with the patent toe and bow on the top - perfect with my 50's style dresses! I wore them for work the other day when I was on my feet for 8 hours and my feet were fine - which makes a change! Normally I come home my feet really aching and sore - but these were very kind to my feet :)
Overall I am very happy with these pumps - you can buy them for £19.99 which is more than I would usually pay for a pair of pumps - but atleast they will last me a lot longer than the ones I usually get from Primark! They are very comfortable to wear and go with just about anything, I wear mine for work, during the day and plan to wear them with a nice dress on a night out. Perfectly versatile!
