      Crocs

I hate crocs shoes for adults but for kids I think they are the cutest things ever. As soon as my daughter was old enough and her foot was big enough I bought her a gorgeous pair of these for summer last year and they were her favourite shoe and mine too as they are so versatile and quite stylish for little ones in my opinion. I actually purchased mine from the NExt online catalogue and bought hers in a size 4/5 in the fuschsia colour which is a darkish pink. They also come in light pink, different shades of green, black and different shades of blue so they are perfect for boys too.

I find it quite hard to buy shoes for my little girl as she has quite small, thin feet and so regular sandals just don't work for her so to have a pair of these which do not need to fit perfectly but more importantly that stay on and are good to her feet well that's definitely a bonus in my opinion. There is a plastic strap at the back of the crocs that hold her ankle in really well and prevent her foot from slipping out but the strap is not too tight that the shoes hurt her or rub against her foot in any way which is great. This strap can be moved forward so that it allows the shoe to become a slip on but we don't do this to the crocs as I think she is not old enough for slip on shoes yet and probably would not be able to hold the shoe on her foot but its nice that the choice is there. On each side there is a cute little picture of a croc which is obviously part of their logo. Apparently, according to the crocs website, "Loose fit allows feet to bend and expand naturally, reducing fatigue." We found that my little girl could wear these shoes for hours and didn't need to take them off. She is able to run in them and play in them with no problems. The shoes are pretty sold and have quite a heavy tread and with her literally wearing them all alast summer they are still looking as good as new and show no signs of wear on the bottom. Also the website also goes on to say that the, "Footbed conforms to foot creating custom fit and increased arch support and circulation nubs stimulate blood flow." So, as you can see these are well thought out shoes and not just a jelly shoe or something like that which in my opinion offers no support.

The shoes are perfect for summer as they are full of holes. Full of holes in a good way though. On the side you will find the crocs logo in cut out shapes. This provides the functional benefit of increased ventilation as well as all the ventilation you get from the back being open and the holes in the front of the shoe too. Sometimes if it was a bit cold my little girl would wear socks with these but they are really meant for bare feet. We have some fountains in our town that kids can run through and play in and these shoes were perfect for that as it doesn't matter if they get wet because they dry instantly with no damage. The holes actually allow you to attach JibbitzTM brand charms to them but we never did that to these so I cannot comment on these but it may be something I get her when she is a bit older.

These shoes are loose enough that she will be able to wear them this summer too so I think we have really got our wear and money's worth out of them. Each pair costs £19.99 and although I mentioned I got mine in Next you can also purchase them from the Crocs website at: http://www.crocs.co.uk/crocs-kids-baya/10190,en_GB,pd.html?cgid=girls-footwear.

      Recommend

My niece is a couple of years older than my daughter and quite often, Lauren will say to me 'I wish I could have.....' on this occasion, she was referring to a pair of Crocs. Not being a fan of the design, I always managed to put her off but that year, we were going on holiday to Newquay with my sister, and as a present, she decided to buy Lauren a pair. Although I was a little horrified, I did think, 'well at least she can wear them on holiday where nobody knows us' but I also thought they would be good for paddling in the sea.

I have found that despite wearing on the beach and in the sea, the colour of the Crocs is still quite vibrant, and the salt water hasn't has any adverse effects and caused the shoes to fail in any way. Lauren never complained that they rubbed in anyway, nor did I see any signed of this on her feet which I thought was great, especially considering that when she first started to wear, she didn't wear any socks or tights.

As these were a present, I am not sure how much they costs originally but I have just checked online and the price ranges from around £10 up to £25 so I would recommend shopping around. They appear widely available, from places such as Schuh, Debenhams, Sports Direct and also direct from Crocs website. There are lots of different colours available, pink blue, black white etc. There is also a more expensive version which has a fur lining. The Crocs are available from an infant size 1 up to adult sizes.

The Crocs are quite a unique design and I couldn't really compare to anything else on the market. The ones we had were a nice bright pink colour, which I think is what Lauren loved the most about them. They have an open back (which does have a strap which can be lifted up to make more of a full shoe or dropped down to give you a mule). The Crocs come with 13 air holes on top which I later discovered you can buy little charms (called Jibbitz) for around £1 - £2 which you can attach to these air holes. This turned out to be a big hit with Lauren! What I found quite amazing about these shoes is the weight of them, to look at; I imagined that they would be quite heavy as they are really chunky however they were really lightweight.

Being able to use these in the sea was a great benefit, visiting Newquay; I am always concerned about Weaver Fish, so the fact that there were no arguments when I asked Lauren to wear these was great! When we went into the sea, I just adjusted the strap at the back to make them more secure on her feet. There were a couple of instances where one of the Crocs came off, but because these are so light and made of rubber, they floated straight to the top of the water. The also proved brilliant if we went looking in the rock pools as they provided protection from the sharp rocks and shells.

For her age, my daughter has quite large feet and seems to very quickly outgrow her shoes however the Crocs did last her two summers before I finally managed to throw them away last year (I think if I didn't, she would still try and wear them this year!)

Overall, I have missed feelings about the shoes, they are comfy, my daughter loved them and the price isn't too bad, but for me, it is just the look of them that puts me off; and for that reason, I would only give 4 out of 5 stars.

      Thanks for reading.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

These are very good summer shoes for children

        WHAT ARE THEY?

Rubber slip on shoes for children.  You can buy Crocs in adult sizes but I have not got any, I bought my daughters a pair of the kids Baya clogs last summer before we went on holiday.

        THE DESIGN

These are all rubber except for the pins that hold the strap onto the shoe.  They have got a thick sole and the top of the clogs are wide so that there is plenty of room for children's feet inside, there are a lot of holes done in a nice pattern and these let my daughters feet breathe and prevent sweating.  The strap can be worn at the top of the foot or around the back, my daughters both wear theirs both ways depending on their mood and do not have a preference.  M daughters have both got salmon pink Crocs but you can buy them in other colours like turquoise or white, if you want a lot of choice you should buy them online or in a camping shop because they always have a good wide selection.

        COMFORT

Crocs used to be called the most comfortable shoes ever, I don't know if that is true but my daughters always are comfortable while they are wearing them.  The sole is nice and soft so they can wear them if we go for a walk as well as when they are playing because they do not hurt the bottoms of their feet.  The edges of the shoes do not rub their feet and even if they have had them on all day their feet do not ever feel or smell sweaty.

        WHAT I THINK

I think these are very good playing shoes and I will buy them again for my daughters when they need a new pair.  I like that each size is really 2 sizes because they have got so much room in them, they are very durable so they do not wear out and it takes a long time for children to grow out of them.  If they are too big when you first buy them the strap holds them on the feet, the pins on the strap of one of my daughters Crocs is quite loose and the strap slips around on her foot sometimes but that does not get on her nerves or anything so it is not to be complained about.

The shape of the sole is good because it means my daughters feet do not slide round in the shoes when they are running around and playing.  They can wear socks with these shoes but they are just as comfortable if they slip them on over bare feet.

        ANYTHING ELSE

I paid about £15 for each pair of Crocs and I think that is an average price but they are quite often on special promotion price so look in more than one shop if you want a bargain.

        5 Dooyoo Stars.

        wardrobe staple

I bought both of my kids pairs of these Baya Crocs in the bright pink pictured at the height of Summer, for £13 each from Amazon. I purchased sizes 10-11 and 12-13 (these shoes come in dual sizes) and as soon as they arrived they were almost permanently on my daughters' feet. Despite lots of wear they are as good as new, and definitely have proved to be a far better buy than the non-branded versions I'd bought in previous years, which are just not as good in our experience.

The crocs are made of a very good quality plastic which seems to mould to the feet - there are tiny little studs under your feet which mean the foot doesn't slip around in wear. This does mean the shoes takes a little time to wear in, but both my children found the shoes comfortable from the off. The ventilation in the side of the shoe of this the newest croc design for kids certainly isn't discrete, but on the scale of crocs this is quite a good looking shoe and it can be accessorised with Jibbitz - little studs that go through the hole on the top of the shoe.

The sole of the shoe isn't as thick as the slightly more expensive croc band shoe, also available for kids - this is a more light weight shoe that is, in my opinion, perfect for beach and Summer wear, easily slipped on and off. My daughters like to wear theirs with dresses, jeans and shorts alike and even in the Winter months we find it the perfect shoe for going to swimming lessons as it's easily slipped on and off and is pretty well non-slip on a wet surface. The band at the back can be worn forwards or backwards for a snugger fit. Mainly my kids seem to prefer the band to the back.

As these are a generous fit, I do think they will last for two Summers, certainly by the end of one there was virtually no sign of wear to the shoe, which comes up as good as new when washed and which had survived various beaches, parks and even woodland walks. For this reason I personally don't mind the fact that they are a little bit more expensive - you can buy imitation shoes but I think that crocs are one area where it's actually worth buying the branded item. This particular shoe comes in a range of colours; a lighter pink but also navy, black, white and green, so it's perfect for boys as well as girls, though obviously whether you like the look of them is very much down to personal taste - I think they look cute on kids. Prices vary quite considerably from £10-25 depending on where you but them, so it's worth hunting around for the best deal and making sure you are getting the genuine item. These crocs are a wardrobe staple for my children and I will be buying more when they outgrow these, definitely a very good purchase and one I would recommend.
