      These boots have outlasted many

My husband gets through work boots at a rate of knots. He's had all makes and models over the years all with a life span of less than 12 months- Caterpillar being the exception these lasted considerably longer. Some cheaper boots have started leaking long within this time but he just puts up with wet feet for a while as with most men he hates shopping, and I 'always' get stuff he doesn't like. Anyway the Caterpillar boots aren't cheap so they should last a while!!!

Retail cost averages at about £80+ he didn't pay that we saw them on sale in TK Maxx for half that but that was ages ago. Amazon sell them for less than £80 I've just seen some online similar for £60 ish depending on the size. My son also had the same pair again they were bought on sale, his long outlasted his feet growth spurt- they were still like brand new.

Size wise they start at 6 for men and go all the way up. My husband wears a nine and at the time my sons were a kids size 4 both were true to size.

My husband has actually had a couple of pairs of these particular style boot from Caterpillar one beige and one black pair, both were bought on sale. The beige pair had nubuck uppers which is leather but brushed- more like suede but not suede. The black pair were just leather- both were waterproof and hard wearing. The tongue and side of the boots bear the Caterpillar logo.

The outside of the toe has worn but this hasn't compromised the function of the boots only the appearance. The boots aren't lightweight but seem lighter than some other brands he had- I can verify that having picked them up when tidying up. The tongue and collar is padded making them comfortable, I know my husband ties his laces tight so needs this extra padding. The insides are lined and slightly padded, they have a nice insole shape under the foot arch. The sole is rubber and thick with good grips, my husbands have been melted underneath after standing on hot metal, but the damage is just cosmetic.

I'd better ask the otherhalf the next bit:

These are very comfortable and not as heavy as some boots. They are still comfortable after months and months of wear everyday and are still waterproof. The sole hasn't come away from the upper nor have the grips worn. They don't make your feet sweat too much. The laces do snap and have been replaced several times. The longevity is better than most. Cosmetically they have took a hammering but are still functional.

My son on the other hand didn't really like them, he found them too 'clumsy' and heavy- he's used to light
      trainers.

      5 stars from my husband
