May I just say that the actual product that I wanted to review was the larger version of this, an American style foffee cheesecake that will serve up to 6 people. I looked for this pack of 3 in my local ASDA but they were out of stock, but I will review it when I can get my mits on some! I will continue by reviewing the product that i originally suggested to dooyoo, hope thats ok!.

I came across the frozen Toffee Cheesecake purely by happy accident. We were having a buffet at school to celebrate someone's birthday and despite promising my 'breakfast quiche' (recipe also on dooyoo!) my oven had other ideas!!! So a quick dash to ASDA before school led me (effortlessly!) to the dessert section. I noticed in the freezer cabinet that there was a whole range of desserts including a range of cheesecakes for only £1.00. The toffee variety took my eye (am a great believer in desserts being chocolate or toffee...if you want fruit, have it, don't waste pudding on it!!!!) so bought a couple along with a black forest gateau and a chocolate cheesecake also £1.00.

The cheesecake comes in a box and inside that in a round foil tray. If you want to keep its shape, remember to remove it from this before it defrosts.

The cheesecake is a pale cream in colour with a sticky toffee sauce on top. It is decorated with toffee curls and piped cream. The base is a crunchy biscuit base that is really crunchy when served immediately, but does go a bit soggy if left for another day. The taste of this cheesecake is absolutely divine. It is creamy and smooth and complemented beautifully by the rich toffee sauce. The suggested portion size is 1/6th of the 450g cheesecake, but we served it to 8 people and it is so rich, that an eighth was plenty.

What I really can't believe about this pudding is that it only costs £1.00. It is an absolute bargain and tastes like it costs so much more.

There is a frighteningly long list of ingredients that goes into this cheesecake which I am not going to list here, but can be found on ASDA's website. It is definitely only to be served as a treat as a serving 1/6th is 270 calories but at only £1.00 is a must at least once a month in every household! I have noticed that Tesco also do their own version of this at a slightly higher price of £1.19.
