Such a shame it is inpractable

My daughter is Peppa pig mad so when she received this play set as a gift she was thrilled. It is a strong wooden play set that you slot together to build a scene from one of the episodes of the well loved children's programs. Included in this set are pieces to makeup the tree house and also the boys castle as per one of the Peppa pig episodes where the boys and girls make up different clubs.

The characters that are included are made out of thick strong wood and have the details of each well loved character painted on them in perfect detail. Included with this set are
Peppa Pig, George, Grandpa Pig, Grandma Pig, Danny Dog and Suzy Sheep
The characters are very sturdy and my children love them as they are something different to the usual plastic figures they play with. They are a little small but this makes them perfect for younger children to play with. At the same time as being small as they are chunky there is little chance of a choking hazard for younger children.
The only down side for me about the characters is the details of the characters are only painted on one side of the figures so the other side is just left wooden.

The tree house and castle each come in separate pieces ready to build up. Each wall slots into a base and then the roof slots into the walls the tree then slots on to the play house etc. Again the details is painted on just one side and it can be a bit tricky to fit them all together at first. Also after they are built a slightest knock and they all fall down again. This was our main disappointment with this product as it is just too frustrating for a younger child to have to keep rebuilding the tree house and castle while they are trying to play.

At around £7 they seemed good value until my children actually began to play with the set and the problems shined through. It is a shame as the product is of high quality but the practicality of the houses slotting together is just flawed therefore making it a useless toy. Saying that they still get good use out of the figures and they have became a favourite addition to their usual Peppa pig plastic play sets.
