      Wooden toaster set

      Breakfast for two

I think its amazing the things little kids pick up. When my husband makes his toast in the morning my little girls likes to help and she has become very good at buttering her own toast although our tub of butter looks like it has been stabbed to death with all the knife marks in it that she makes. Whilst I don't want her playing with knifes I think its good she learns how to use them properly in a controlled environment with my husband there so when I saw this toaster set in the Early Learning Centre I thought it would be perfect for her.

I love role playing toys anyway and this one is a fun one as it allows you to make your own toast and butter it to. The set consists of a toaster, plate, knife, butter dish with butter, 2 slices of toast and a pot of jam. The set is wooden and I absolutely love wooden toys as I think they have a very classic look to them, are hardwearing and will last a lot longer than plastic toys.

This set is definitely very pink and girly and although The Early Learning Centre recommend this toy for over 3's my little girl of two gets a lot of fun and enjoyment out of it. The toaster like I said is pink and has a nice flower design on the side of it. It has a push down button on it just like a regular toaster and also has a dial you can turn to decide how brown you want the toast. The two slices of toast fit in this toaster and you can use the button to push them down to toast them. I really like that the actions are just the same as a regular toaster and I think The Early Learning Centre have designed this toy very well and thought about it carefully.

Once your toast us ready you can put it on your plate and then use the lovely butter dish. This butter dish is just like an old fashioned one with a lift off lid, just like something your Grandmother would have and I would actually like a real one for my kitchen. The pattern is the same as the toaster, pink with a lovely flower on it. The pot of jam is also pink with a flower on it and has a little hole in the lid where you can put the jam spoon in.

The utensils with this set are nice and small enough for little hands to use in conjunction with the slices of toast and butter. The set costs £15 and in my opinion is a really nice set.
