      could be better out there

      My dad was a police man before he retired so we thought it would be cute to dress my nephew up as a police man and surprise his Granddad, luckily he already had a police helmet so this outfit made the perfect accompaniment. Alfie had been asking for a police outfit for ages after the police came to do a talk his nursery and told him all about police officers and how they look after people and catch bad guys. My boyfriend and I treated Alfie when we were babysitting for the day and we loved his new outfit, as did Granddad when he saw him dressed up!

      ==Price and availability==

      You can purchase this dressing up kit which only includes the pants, jacket and radio. It costs £12.00 which is a lot considering the quality and the fact that it does not come with a hat!

      ==Description==

      The kit is aimed at children 3-6 years and there is only one size. The trousers were quite long on Alfie so we had to roll them up. They are black and made from shiny polyester. They have a chequered band across the bottom of each leg which makes them look very official. The jacket has a Velcro fastener down the middle and two big pockets. The jacket is high visibility yellow and also has the chequered band on the bottom of the coat. It is made from the same material and again is quite long in the body, there is a little police sign on the left breast. Included in the kit is a plastic walkie talkie. They would have been better leaving this out and making the kit cheaper.

      ==Overall==

      What I did like about the dress up set was that it was easy for Alfie to dress himself and he managed to get the jacket fastened too, he needed help with the trousers but on the whole you could leave him to it. This outfit is wipe clean and it is also machine washable. He can get the trousers on and the jacket on top of his jumper and jeans so there is no messing about. What Alfie liked best about the outfit was the chequered parts as it really gave the uniform the official touch.

      Luckily, he already had a police hat but it would be an expensive do if you had to buy this and the police hat together as the hat is £8 alone. I am sure there are much cheaper kits on the internet but as we bought on impulse we did not have chance to shop around.
