Lauren was bought this as a present for her second birthday which was quite ideal as we had brought her a kitchen.
The set contains 12 vegetables, individually they are held together by velcro so that you easily cut the knife down the middle and they snap in half, Lauren found it really easy to manipulate and immediately knew what to do. It also comes together in a handy tray to keep them all together.
It was an instant hit with Lauren, it was also a great learning activity teaching her all the different type of vegetables (some of them we have never consumed such as aubergine) and the good point was that the vegetables are easily recognisable. I also found it a good exercise when teaching colours, as we used to play at matching the items up once she had cut them all.
Two years later, she still loves to sit and chop all the vegetables and place them on the tray in the oven and despite lots of usage, the velcro has not weakened in any way and they still hold together.
The product is recommended from two years and upwards.
The set is really well made and the plastic knife which is included is not sharp and does not concern me that a two year old is using it.
The RRP is around £12 which I think is very worthwhile, there are a lot of set on the market where the vegetables are really flimsy and a bit a pressure will cause the vegetables to dent however although these are hollow, the plastic is quite sturdy. You can also pick a used one of these for around half that price.
I would recommend these to any budding little chefs!
