I was going to clock off for the night when saw this. I feel like I have to tell you how amazing this toy is. The doc Mcstuffins doctors bag cost £18 from Tesco and is the best toy we have got for our daughter. The actual bag is plastic and the bottom is purple with a picture of Doc on the front as in the picture. The handle is glittery pink but smooth to the touch. It is as big as a clutch bag so just light enough for little hands and not bulky at all.
In the doctors bag there is the following:
Stethoscope - This is lovely as it is purple and pink and has the same design as in the programme. If you press the heart it does th ewooshing sound the kids hear on the show which is lovely and my daughter pretends her toys are coming to talk to her when she presses it. It is a decent size so I can wear it and she can at 3.
Odometer - This is the thing that looks in your ears, eyes and mouth if needs be. It has a glittery pink handle and then a purple top with glass to both sides so looks real. It is around 8cm tall so a good size and very easy to hold.
Thermometer - This again is quite big so nice for them to use and safe. It has a glittery pink handle with pictures of four faces ranging from sad face to happy face. The top is purple then blue. My daughter loves this but insists on putting it in peoples mouths so we have to clean it often.
Blood Pressure Cuff - This is fab and again big enough for her to put the purple fabric around my wrist to pretend. There is a pink blob on the end she can squeeze and a little counter which whizzes around as she presses it.
Then there is a syringe which again is pink and purple but with a clear middle. A plaster which is quite small really but can fit around her wrist and most of her toys. Our box also had some stickers of which there were about ten sparkly ones which she loved.
All of the implements fit neatly into the bag so can be tidied away nicely.
It is a fantastic toy and most of the things can be cleaned easily, they are big enough I dont have to worry about her playing with them and because they look just like the show she loves them. It is the one toy she keeps coming back to so absolutely great!!!!
Doc McStuffins is a childrens television programme on Disney Junior. It's a fun and engaging programme with cute characters and teaches children about basic first aid. The main character is a girl called Doc McStuffins and her patients are her toys. The programme is very popular at the moment and is mostly aimed at children 3-5 years. My daughter is 6 years old and is probably getting a bit too old for Doc McStuffins. She doesn't watch it all the time but will happily watch it now and again. She recently told me that she actually likes the characters more than the programme! Shortly before Christmas she saw an advert on television for a Doc McStuffins Doctors Bag and was quick to put it on her Christmas list.
There are a number of different Doc McStuffins Doctors Bags available, although they all seem VERY similar (I think the main difference is the packaging). I decided to buy my daughters Doc McStuffins Doctors Bag from Debenhams for £20.00. It came in an opened fronted cardboard box. You could see everything that you were getting inside. The set is suitable for children 3+ years.
The set consists of 8 different pieces and includes a doctors bag, stethoscope, syringe, bandage, thermometer, blood pressure cuff, otoscope and sticker sheet. The set looks lovely - very pretty and girly. I doubt many boys would be interested unfortunately! The bag is purple and the lid (and handle) is covered in pink glitter (not the sort of glitter that transfers on to everything it touches). It is made from thick plastic, is robust and seems like good quality. It's quite large and fits all of the instruments inside, which is really handy. All of the instruments have a similar look to the bag - pink, purple and glittery. They're all a good size, are easy to use and are made from robust plastic. The blood pressure cuff can be secured on to arms with a velcro strap and it also has a little pump attached. When the pump is squeezed the gauge spins around to give the effect of really taking the patients blood pressure! The stethoscope has a small heart shaped button on it. When pressed the button lights up and makes a magical 'Brrring' sound! This is a nice little feature to have and the batteries are included (our batteries are still in use). The sticker sheet includes about 10 different sparkly stickers that feature different Doc McStuffins characters, medical equipment and hearts.
My daughter was thrilled to receive her Doc McStuffins Doctors Bag Set at Christmas. I was a little concerned that she would be a little too old for it but thankfully she has a great imagination and has got LOADS of use of it! It's a good little set for imaginative play and role play. It's also really good at teaching little ones about basic first aid and what certain medical instruments are for and how to use them. She gets her doctors bag out when we don't feel well and tries to make us better! She has also been known to get her doctors bag out when we have guests over and when her friends come round to play. She usually uses ALL of her medical instruments to give us our diagnoses (looking in our ears with the otoscope, checking our temperature with the thermometer, taking our blood pressure, checking our hearts the stethoscope and then fixing us with the syringe, bandage and giving us a sticker if we've been brave enough!). The only downside to the set is that the bag is quite awkward to open. My daughter couldn't open the bag until I showed her how to (it slides backwards and unclips), she found it awkward at first but can open it easily now, however I imagine this may be a problem for younger children. The bandage is only large enough to fit around an adults wrist (big enough for children though) and the same applies to the blood pressure cuff (again, perfectly sized for children though) - not ideal but my daughter doesn't seem to mind. One of my favourite things about this set is that it's good quality and robust. My daughter has previously had medical sets that are made from flimsy plastic, include paper and other useless materials! The set is well made and is made from decent materials. We've had the Doc McStuffins Doctors Bag for a couple of months now and it's still in great condition. I'm sure it will be around in years to come.
I would say it's a little overpriced but would otherwise definitely recommend to all young girls, inspiring doctors and Doc McStuffins fans!
Since getting the disney channel 6 months ago my 2 year old has been obsessed with anything and everything doc mcstuffin. Its a programme on disney junior about a girl who talks to her soft toys and fixes them in her clinic, shes basically a toy doctor. Its one of the less annoying kids programmes out there so i'm happy for her to watch it. Sure enough pretty soon doc mcstuffin has become really popular and so comes all the disney merchandise. My daughter already loves the disney store so when she saw the doc mcstuffin display we did well to come out having only bought the doctors set!
Like just mentioned we bought it from the disney store and paid £15.00. For what it is I think its a little on the expensive side youcan get play doctors sets for a lot less but you do expect to pay a premium for disney products. Its also available from other toy shops and larger supermarkets that sell toys, quite a lot of places have jumped on the doc mcstuffin band wagon it would seem.
The set is packaged on a purple cardboard piece with doc mcstuffin in it then covered in clear plastic so you can see all you are getting. Like most disney packaging its bright and bold and attracts children easily.
The set comes with the plastic doctors bag with a pink sparkly lid, the light up and sound stethascope, a plastic purple and pink thermometer, a plastic cuff bandage, a plastic pink and purple thing to check ears and a sheet of stickers. They count this as a 5 piece playset although I'm not sure counting the sticker sheet is right! All the pieces are durable thick plastic and are in the pink and sparkly pink theme, great for any girly budding doctor! The lid on the bag can be quite difficult to open so quite often my daughter has to ask me to open it for her so it could do with maybe being a little easier to open for little hands.
Its a great set to encourage your little one to take part in imaginative play and it definitely feeds their imaginations.
It has already been well played with an I reckon that will continue as its not only her fabourite toy but its the same bag her favourite character has!
My little girl loves the program Doc McStuffins on Disney Junior. As it was a fairly new series at Christmas there was limited stock on most of the items available at the Disney store. I did manage to pick up this set and knew my daughter would be delighted with it. I have to say I was that excited I had found something from this brand that I never really checked what was included. I was shocked to find when it arrived it included a replica of the characters doctors bag, a syringe, a hospital bracelet, stethoscope and a temperature reader. For a doctor set this is really minimal, and especially as the Doc herself has so many other items on the program.
All of the pieces resemble those from the program perfectly. The bright purple colour of the main body of the toys and the pink glittered handles are all perfect. It feels really well made and little touches like different items from the show being engraved on the bag are a nice touch. All of the pieces feel well made and sturdy and in the time we have had it show no wear at all. One little thing for me is the way the bag opens. In the program it folds out and this has a sliding mechanism. While I didn't think it was important my daughter has pointed this out to me over and over again.
This bag has a sliding top so little one can store all of their pieces inside it in between patients. I have to be honest and say when we first used this toy we were unaware it opened up at all. I even tried to pull and push at it as I was sure it was supposed to but it just did not budge. When my two year old son decided he would like to play doctor he dropped the bag on the floor. The lid then popped off and we could see it should actually slide back and forth. Once I had put the sliding compartment back on it seemed to work OK. It was still a little stiff, but my little girl was able to get in and out. The problem is even with the slightest knock this now comes off. As it needs a parent to put it back on it can be annoying for a child wanting to play independently.
There is nothing overly interactive in this set but this is great for the imagination. The syringe can be pushed up and down so my little girl can give her injections. The thermometer is just a bit of plastic but it has a dial of happiness shown in smiley faces. My daughter thinks this is great as she can tell how poorly we are by choosing a happy or a sad face. The stethoscope has a small button on it and once pressed it begins to glow. This for my daughter was one of the important parts. I lights up when the toys come to life on the program so it amazed her that hers would light up too. It is a huge boost for her imagination and every time she presses the button her patients suddenly come to see her.
The bracelet is also a great addition as it can be worn by the child, or by the patient. It is very easy to get on and off and my daughter loves it. She often gives it up to the patients to make them feel better. Even though it is too big for most of the dolls she still managed to balance it on their arms. Finally included in the set is a sheet of stickers. My little girl chose to put these over the toys, but I think they were actually intended for a picture. They fell off after a little while and ended up in the bin but it is a nice extra for a Doc Mcstuffins fan.
My daughter really enjoys this set and often brings it out to play. She has added a lot of accessories from other sets because she found there was too little with this one. She can play independently with this set other than me needing to add the lid every five minutes. The pieces all fit inside the bag fairly easily but she cannot store other bits from different sets, as there just is not enough room. Durability has been great. The bag and accessories have been dropped a number of times and do not even have a scratch. Of course the lid is fiddly but other than that we have had no problems. I was worried the glitter would come off everywhere as there is a lot of it, but only tiny amounts fall off.
This set is really lacking with just a few pieces that the character uses included in this set. We have owned much better doctors kits and this was a little disappointing. It is recommended from three plus but other than the stickers there is nothing that can harm a younger child. My daughter really did not mind there were only a few pieces she still loved that she had a bag the same as Doc Mc Stuffins. It is a great addition to her toys and it receives use each and every day. You are just paying for the character branding, and some bits could have been better made. My daughter loves it, so who am I to argue?
My little girl loves the Disney show Doc McStuffins on the Disney Junior channel. Doc McStuffins is a little girl who heals all her stuffed animals from whatever ailment they are suffering from. I try to teach my girl that she can be whatever she wants to be in life and at the moment, I think because of this show one of the things she wants to be is a doctor.
My parents bought her this great Doc McStuffins doctors bag from the Disney store for CHristmas this year on my suggestion as I knew she would love it and play with it often and enjoy it. It was definitely a hit on Christmas day and still to this day as she went around checkin everyones heart with her stethoscope.
The main part of this toy is the doctors bag itself. Its a bit cheap and tacky looking but it looks just like the one Doc uses on the show and so I like the continuity here. The bag is made of a cheap plastic and is in the same shape as a proper doctors bag with a top opening section with a handle. This top bit is pink and sparkly and the bottom part is purple. The clasp closes well but my little girl finds it a bit hard to open and close by herself so I often have to do it. Once all the toys are inside the bag is quite stuffed too so I also think this makes it hard for her to open and close it. On the front there is a picture of Doc McStuffins with a bandage motif and her symbol.
Inside there are various doctors instruments for your little one to play with. By far my little girls favourite toy is the stethoscope, like I've said above. This fits in her ears well and in an adults ears fairly well too. What I like is that the bit you put on your body lights up when you press the little heart button on it and the light fades in and out like a heartbeat. It doesn't make a noise but we always make a boom boom noise to imitate the heart and my little girl has learned to do this too.
Then, after she has checked my heart she always says that I need some medicine so she then likes to use the little syringe that comes in the pack too. This again is purple and has pink sparkly bits on the plunger and top and this plunger actually moves up and down so you can imitate giving an injection of medicine to someone. There is a plastic plaster which is presented in quite an interesting way, as a bangle/bracelet so you can slip it on your writs and pretend you are wearing a plaster. Trouble is at the moment its a bit too big for my daughters wrist and a bit too small for mine so we just slip it on for a little bit and then it usually falls off one of us but we are usually cured and feel better by that point anyway.
Other instruments include a thermometer which we don't actually play with much, a thing to take your blood pressure that fits around the arm and then you can pump, a lot of fun, my little girl likes playing with this one and also a little instrument to look in your ear with. All these are also purple and sparkly and perfect for your young little doctor.
Who knows, maybe this toy has sparked her imagination and will get her thinking about being a doctor. She definitely loves playing with it and as a doctors set I think its one of the nicer ones you can get, especially for little girls!
