Not the best in Weston to me but its certainly a good un!

Now me and my friends all grab takeaways from here and although there is a restaurant section within this place I won't lie and say I know all that much about it because I don't. I live here so I have no need to eat in however visitors do in their abundance and look cheerful enough when doing so as far as I can see! The Place: Papas UK Limited 20 Waterloo Street Weston-Super Mare BS23 1LN Telephone: 01934 626565 Opening Hours: Open 7 days a week 11.30am - 10.30pm First off I must say this is on a busy main road in the town centre and that parking is a problem with no car park or parking places directly close to it however there are side streets and the likes to use if you are lucky enough to find a spot. There is a couple of car parks not too far away though that are pay and display and of course its not far from everything in Weston including shops and the likes though about a 15 minute walk from the beach. Its a very attractive, traditional and inviting type of place is this. Red on the outside with boards outside giving sample menus this really doesn't look like any other chip shop style of takeaway I have ever seen before to be honest and it has an Italian feel to it. The staff are very friendly and always very busy. They are so smart and clean looking with blue trousers on, white shirts and blue ties and blue aprons with Papas written on them along with white hats. I have never seen a woman working here so I can't tell you what a woman would wear to work here! Like I have said I have never eaten in the cafe/restaurant area though it is very clean and smart with a variety of dark tables and chairs in different sizes with lots of local pictures on the walls, its has nicely tiled floors, mellow painted walls and like the takeaway bit to the side of it is very clean indeed. Food: Food is served for takeaway in white paper bags and usually from fresh which means you do have to wait a few minutes for it and of course like I keep saying you can eat in here if you'd prefer an you simply have to wait to be seated! So you can expect pretty much everything from here you'd find in most takeaways such as this. I usually have cod and chips which is about £8.00, which has no skin or bones in it ever, is beautifully battered and deep fried to perfection and completely gorgeous, tender and of huge size with big, fat chunky chips. If I'm a bit poor off I go for a battered sausage and chip meal which costs around £2.50, and my mate has a chicken and mushroom pie and chips (which she loves) for around the £3.50 mark. Other things on the menu include burgers, different types of chicken meals and of course various fishes though in the restaurant steak and grills are also available. The menu is vast with chips being about £1.60 a standard portion, £2.20 a large with extras such as mushy peas, salad or beans and the likes and again in the restaurant they do various puddings such as chocolate pudding and custard, spotted dick and custard and again although I have never eaten these they look to me very generous portions indeed! Along with cans of pop in the takeway section if you eat in then there are various hot drinks available plus alcoholic beverages as this place is fully licensed. There are toilets for people using the restaurant, again I can't comment on those but will assume that they are very clean and particular looking at the rest of the place and wheelchair access is available as are high chairs and the likes as this is a child friendly place. All in all I feel this place is a little on the expensive side however I can vouch for the fact the food is excellent. The battered sausage from here my mates dog begs on her back legs for and me, well I love the really tasty fish from here. My only gripe about here is the chips. If you like ungreasy, homestyle chips then maybe you would appreciate these, me though.....well I like proper greasy chips from a chippy and these are not that sadly and taste almost healthy even lol! All in all though I can see why this place is so popular. It has a variety of specials on offer, a nice kids menu which has all the usual suspects on it at about £3.00 a meal and oh dear I'm hungry again now lol. Recommended!
