KFC wouldn''t be one of the first places I''d choose for food, but when I was heading to Belfast, I decided to call in and grab something to eat on the way up. I normally don''t bother with KFC, as the quality is hit and miss, and my local one is usually horrible, but I thought I''d give it the benefit of the doubt again, and it was a mistake as usual. My experiences I do like the occasional fillet tower burger, and while I don''t indulge often, I though I''d grab one on my way to Belfast. I saw there was quite a queue for the drive through, and I took that as a good sign. After waiting in a queue for about fifteen minutes, I was served, and received my food quickly. I did think they charged me too little for the meal, but as I soon found out, they forgot the tower part of my order, which I know is an extra 30p usually. For my 5.29GBP for the fillet box meal, I received a fillet burger, a single piece of chicken, some fries, coleslaw and a drink. When I was in my teens, I loved the fillet burgers, and a trip to KFC was a regular occurrence. However, the burger that I received this time, there was a small fillet inside, with some limp lettuce added. Normally, I find they can be a little generous on the mayo, but again, this seemed lacking. I had ordered the box meal, so I got a piece of chicken on the bone as part of the meal. The chicken drumstick that I got had little coating on it, and two bites and it was gone. It was nice, the bits had the coating, but was definitely one of the smallest drumsticks I''ve ever eaten. The chips, despite eating the meal straight away, were very greasy and slightly cold. I''m not a big fan of KFC chips anyway, so I only ate a few and threw out the rest. I have just realised that, while writing this review (over a week later) that I had left the unopened coleslaw in the car, and I''m assuming it''s probably best to throw it out ? oops. Oh well, I''ve never found their coleslaw that appealing anyway. Summing Up While I do like the fillet tower burgers, and I have had some lovely meals in KFC, I wouldn''t recommend the chain as a whole. Unlike some other chain restaurants, it seems that there isn''t consistency in KFC. I know of some outlets where the food is nice, and yet others where I rarely have had a nice meal (and if it''s not nice, I tend to avoid, unless I forget like what happened recently). While my last experience was negative, I''m sure that in a few months, I''ll be back, but I tend to stick with outlets that I know I''ve had good food from before, or ones that have been recommended.
Now my Review today is on a visit (quite a few times) to my local KFC branch and i totally understand that not every resturant is going to be the same,,, but the last few times this has been my experience.
KFC is a major distributor of chicken based products throughout the united kingdom and the world and is very popular with a hell of alot of people.
Its all about the renowned "secret recipe of different herbs and spices" and they claim they like things to be fresh. there is quite alot to offer on the menu to be honest !
Most KFC resturants are the same, typical of the lay out of a burger king or a mcdonalds, with seating areas and a "bar" type area to que up and wait for a member of staff to take your order. my local establishment also has a drive thru, which wont let you pass and make an order on a bike but at the same time wont let you take your bike in,,, strange as riding a bike you would think "well he is on wheels", anyway the resturant is bright and airy and quite spacious. with toilet facilities and the like.
The menu has quite a selection of chicken based products, for example different pieces of the chicken be it the thigh, breast, leg, chicken poppers and an array of burgers to choose from (chicken of course) oh and the part of the chicken called the keel (not sure what that is to be honest), along with a mixture of side orders such as corn on the cob. bbq beans, fries and gravy , along with deserts including icecreams, cakes and choclate based deserts.
=========my KFC experiences===========
A few years ago i used to like a piece of chicken from KFC i especially loved the Zinger tower burger which consisted of a fillet of spicy chicken coated in their recipe, the burger contains lettice a really hot sauce onion rings and a hash brown along with mayo.
i have noticed over the last few months my local store has gone down hill and i really believe that is due to franchising !.
Wheres before the meal always tasted fresh now its limp, tastes old, stone cold and generally sad looking and tasting ! and to be frank KFC is not the cheapest of fast food resturants to eat out of,
What i have also noticed is they have closed down 2 of the resturants in my area (not sure why) so what this means is the ques on a friday evening are out of this world , i remember a couple of months ago seeing the ques out the door litrally !!!!!! and one couple coming out of the store talking amongst themselves saying "can you believe we waited an hour and half to get served" LOL i walked away in disbelief that someone would wait an hour and half to get served with a piece of chicken. honestly i laughed out loud in the street.
Well i would have loved to say something nice about this store but im really fighting to find something.
The chicken (pieces) used to be so succulent and juicy now its just plain greasy, its awful and its not the only KFC around that i have had this problem with. old stale greasy and the skin you drink about 8th of a pint of fat,,, well at least thats how it felt.,
i wont be going back to KFC anytime in a hurry thats for sure,
i Took back my Zinger tower burger the other week due to it being practically unediable
Shame on you KFC sort it out because this is not the only resturant of yours i have had the same experience, oh and my bbq beans was 2 years out of date, yet the manager was trying to convince me thats the time it went out yet the actual time was two hours (number wise) to what it said on the container
SHOCKING KFC !!!!!!
Thankyou for reading xx
KFC stands for Kentucky Fried Chicken, it is an American chain of fast food chicken restaurants. My local KFC is about two minutes drive in the car. Before I went onto slimming world I used to love a cheeky KFC, now however I have not had one in a while, unless im feeling naughty and have one after weighing in on a wednesday night. If you want a tasty and quick chicken takeaway you come to KFC, I know places have opened such as Chicken Cottage and Dixy Chicken, but neither compare to KFC chicken.
KFC do just basic chicken legs and thighs, or you can order many different types of burgers, box meals, wraps, chicken wings, chicken bites called popcorn chicken. When I go to KFC I tend to order the Fillet Tower Meal, which is a chicken fillet burger with lettuce, mayo, cheese, salsa and a hash brown. This can also be made into a box meal which is served with fries, a side, which you can choose from, sweetcorn, gravy, bbq beans. I choose sweetcorn as I love sweetcorn that is still on the cob. You also get one peice of chicken with this, and a drink, you can choose from pepsi, diet pepsi, fanta and sprite. I always choose diet pepsi as I think it tastes the best.
At KFC you can also get different small snacks for anything from 99p for a mini fillet burger to £1.99 for a snack box, where you can get one peice of chicken and some fries, some wings and some fries, popcorn chicken and fries. You can also get a wrap for £1.39 which has chicken, cheese, lettuce and bbq sauce in. It is yummy, for a little snack they are perfect.
For me the thing that makes KFC is the skin, it is made up of different herbs and spices and is just so juicy and crispy, it tastes really nice and I definitely prefer this to the chicken. My boyfriend however prefers the gravy, he loves it. The only downside to KFC i would say is the fries, they are quite bland and hard, I prefer McDonalds chips to KFC as they are more salty and smaller. The sweetcorn that you get from KFC is very juicy and tastes good.
The buckets that you can get from KFC are very good value for money, you can get them in boxes of 10, 14 and 18 pieces of chicken, four fries and two sides and a bottle of juice. You can also get something called a boneless bucket which consists of chicken with no bones, fries and sides. Recently KFC have also brought out a Dippin' feast where you get the same deal, but you get 4 sauces to dip into. I have not tried this so I do not know what flavours the sauces are.
Recently KFC have brought out the Hot Bites meal where you get a burger, three hot chicken bites, a side, fries and a juice as a box meal. Lately they got rid of the Nacho stacker meal which resembled the Fillet Tower burger but had a large nacho, which tasted like a taco in the burger. You also got this with a piece of chicken, fries, a side and a drink.
KFC is definitely my favourite takeaway, it beats McDonalds hands down as they chicken is tasty and the skin is to die for. I enjoy eating KFC as everything you get from the takeaway tastes brilliant and the standards never drop. So if you are looking for a tasty takeaway KFC is the fast food outlet for you.
KFC is a popular fast food chain that sells chicken, if you want chicken you go to 2 places, Nando's or if you want it fast and in a take out box, you come to KFC. Now my parents used to love KFC when they was younger, however we don't tend to have it as much anymore we tend to go to McDonalds instead if we want anything.
We went to KFC a while back and I think if you haven't ate this for a while you do enjoy it a lot more. Basically it works off buckets and meals, ideally for a family you would buy a bucket deal which can consist of popcorn chicken, chicken breast, thighs or and wings, fries, sides (corn on the cob, beans or coleslaw) and usually a bottle of pop also. Now it's often baffled me why they offer you beans and coleslaw as a side however I suppose a lot of people like this, for us we don't normally use these, so just end up sticking the coleslaw in the fridge. These bucket meals vary in price and size from 6 to 14 pieces from £9.99 for a bargain bucket which is just chicken and fries to anything up to £15.99-£16.99 for everything including drinks and sides.
KFC do offer a lot and it's very hard to mention everything on here, however I have just looked on their website and you can see all their options on there; however it also shows you the calorie content (which to pre-warn you isn't great) They also offer single meals ideal for one if your travelling or on your dinner also and they have very yummy and tasty 'krush-ems' which are delicious, but pricey for what they are.
Overall I like KFC and will continue to eat here on occassions, not all the time as it's not very healthy. I like the little touches they add to your meal, if you buy a take out you get everything, including little handy sanitizer wet wipes and sometimes they even give you paper plates so you don't even need to wash up. Overall one of the top 3 fast food chains which is a household name to most.
@ About, The store & Staff @
I often visit KFC for lunch and dinner, and generally speaking their stores are quite clean and tidy. Their stores have plenty of tables and there are self serve counters in most stores now. The self serve screens are easy to use and you have a multi-selection layout where you can add or remove from your order. When you have finished placing your order you dont wait anymore than 3 minutes for your food, and sometimes much less time than that. The counter is uncluttered and very occasionally, they will do special deals and discounts on their food.
Value for money where the smaller burgers are concerned, is a little pricey because a mini fillet for £1.20 is expensive considering the size of it. there is little meat in the burger. Larger burgers such as the Zinger and the full sized fillet burgers are reasonably priced and dont seem to be getting smaller. They have thick bits of meat in them and taste fantastic. The staff are friendly and will ask you if you'd like to go large or add a side to your order but there is no hard sell pressure.
There are also counters where you can get your own condiments so you only need to take what you need rather than being given an arm full of serviettes like most fast food places do. Even the toilets are clean, they dont smell disgusting and are normally stocked up with lots of soap. I say normally because on one occasion there was no soap unfortunately.
@ The Service, The food @
What i appreciate at KFC compared to other fast food restaurants is that you can put your own salt on your fries. You can also ask staff to leave off certain ingredients at the counter. For example if you don't want lettuce they wont let the lettuce even touch your burger because they make the burger there and then, rather than make it and take it back out again.
Their burgers are not dripping with grease and oozing with fat but their crispy coating can be a little greasy in fillet burgers. They do like to fully cover the burgers in a thick coating and occasionally you will get a burger which has chunks of coating with crispy and crunchy bits in places but normally like this sort of thing. They have a wide range of healthy foods too such as salads, coleslaw and corn on the cob.
@ Overall @
KFC Is a very family friendly place to eat and i love their food. Sure some things are a little pricey but they are good quality. Fast food is never healthy but the burgers are not dripping with grease. Excellent fast food company. Their stores are well layed out and there are plenty of tables and chairs.
Visited KFC recently just on the outskirts of Wellingborough Northants adjacent to the A45. Wish I hadn't bothered. My wife and I are both partial to the KFC Zinger tower burger and regularly call in for our favourite treat not always at the same KFC. Went to the counter and orders 2 tower burgers and paid for them. When the order was finally presented to me they had put 2 normal burgers and not the tower burger as ordered. I pointed this out to the young man serving us and he took the whole tray away eventually coming back to the counter with 2 mini zinger burgers. I told him again that this was not the correct order and he asked me to sit at a table while he sorted it out. Eventually after quite a wait the correct meal was sent to the table. This time the whole meal was only luke warm and not hot as it should be. I took it back to the counter and complained about the service we had received and the whole meal was replaced with a fresh meal. It was a bit warmer but not hot as I hoped it would have been but by this time we were so fed up with the hassle that we reluctantly ate the burger only to find the fries were now cold. We left shortly afterwards vowing never to return to a KFC.
I'm not sure who to blame the restaurant we visited or KFC management for not having a stringent checking policy but what ever we wont be going back.
KFC is most certainly my favourite fast food restaurant, I just love the original recipe chicken with its amazing secret spice mix coating.
My favourite meal has to be the variety meal with its two or three pieces of chicken, two hot wings, fries and a drink. I do like the burgers especially the fillet burger but I am always drawn to the original recipe chicken.
KFC does tend to be a little more expensive than its rival fast food outlets such as McDonalds and Burger King but at least you know you are getting whole pieces of chicken and not mechanically reformed meat as with most burgers brought elsewhere. The average meal now in KFC tends to be around the £5 mark but they do offer cheaper options such as the mini fillet burger and the snack box.
The variety of food on the menu as increased so much over the last few years. It has seen the introduction of new burgers such as the zinger, popcorn chicken, the wrapstar, boneless strips, the twister and crushem milkshakes to name a few. I don't think there is anything on the menu that I do not love.
Another excellent thing about KFC is the side dishes and bucket meals they offer. The sides include baked beans, coleslaw, corn on the cob and gravy, the hard part is choosing which to have as they are all yummy! Also the bucket meals are great if there are a few people eating as they are excellent value and can even be taken away to eat.
The only things I do not like about KFC is that there is only one in our city centre so it is always extremely busy and the service is not as quick as other fast food outlets and secondly the staff are not always very friendly in my local KFC. But apart from that I cannot help indulging in a very unhealthy KFC lunch every so often!
My eating habits are pretty shameful but I do realise especially as I get a little older that I need to make some changes. At the moment I will very often eat microwaveable ready meals or pay a visit to one of my local take away restaurants. There are quite a few to choose from including Indian and Chinese take aways, a really great kebab shop which does fantastic chips with cheese on top, a greasy spoon café for all day breakfasts and of course with there being one or two McDonalds very close to me I have often purchased all kinds of food from their menu as well.
Not as often as McDonalds do I visit KFC but sometimes I really hanker for their chicken which is really tasty. You can go inside the premises to place your order but sometimes it is just as easy to use the drive thru. Their prices always seem quite reasonable particularly when compared to Burger King which whenever I have used always seems a bit expensive, maybe that was because it was one of their restaurants based at a motorway services though, I'm not sure. At KFC I have eaten a few times some of their fried chicken which I think contains their special recipe ingredients when it comes to the coating and the actual chicken is so lovely, moist and greasy. This is where you receive several pieces of chicken in a box depending on how much you pay. You are also able to buy a selection of your normal sort of carbonated drinks you would want to complement such a meal.
The two items I opt for most though is a chicken burger which I think is called a fillet tower burger. This contains obviously a chicken burger and then a hash brown, sauces and lettuce. The piece of chicken is not like a Mc chicken sandwich or one of those chicken burgers you would buy in a packet and cook at home, it is thick and moist and it is really hard to keep it within the bun as you eat the burger. My absolute favourite though is Popcorn Chicken; these are small round balls of chicken meat coated in tasty breadcrumbs. A box of these with a portion of the restaurants salted French fries really are fantastic but without doubt not that good for you and probably like all fast food best enjoyed as a treat or when you are on holiday.
KFC is one of the most popular fast food shops and you can find one in practically every town in the UK. The specialise in fried chicken done in a special spicy batter which is a secret recipe.
You can get your chicken in a variety of different formats - as a burger, as wings or chicken pieces or in wraps. My personal favourite is the wicked zinger tower box meal which contains a zinger tower burger, 2 hot wings, fries, a side and a drink. The burger contains a chicken fillet done in a spicy crispy coating topped with a hash brown and filled with mayo and salad. The hot wings are as the name suggests quite spicy and the side can be beans or gravy. The box meal costs just under £5 which is great value for money. The twisters are also nice too - they are a tortilla wrap filled with chicken strips and a salsa sauce.
The downsides? Well other than being exceedingly bad for you I must say that the chips are not very nice at all. I don't know where they get them from but they are soggy and have a cheap and nasty texture - nowhere near as good as Burger Kings chips. But as they come as part of the meal I tend to eat a few anyway and they taste bearable when you dip them in the gravy (which I have been told by KFC employees not to eat as it is full of crap basically) and however bad for you the gravy is it usually tastes delicious. Another down side is that the salad in the burgers is not at all fresh tasting and all you get is a few depressed-looking bits of iceberg lettuce.
I also find they are a bit hit-and-miss. Sometimes I go and I really enjoy it whereas other times I go and the food is stale and has obviously been flung together before sitting on the hotplate for several hours before my consumption. There is no consistency in the quality of the food served.
However much I consider these bad points and convince myself that I shouldn't be eating that rubbish there really is nothing like a KFC when you have a hangover. It's always the first thing I think of to eat the morning after a big night out! The coating on the chicken really is delicious and it's one you won't get elsewhere no matter how many supermarkets try and sell you their versions.
KFC is my favourite fast food restaurant; in fact I had KFC for my tea last night and really enjoyed it. I feel the the menu has quite a wide variety of choice to meet the needs of the majority of customers.
My favourite from the menu is a wicked zinger meal which is £4.89, you get a regular fries 2 chicken wings a zinger burger with mayonnaise and lettuce a side order I always get gravy and a regular drink. My partner always has the crispy strip meal.
I feel KFC are always trying to bring out new items to their menu to meet their customers needs. The most important part of the menu which McDonalds and Burger King don't do is the family meals, e.g. bucket and now I believe they have a boneless box meal for the whole family. I feel this is a great way for families to enjoy their takeaway all together rather than everyone having individual meals. The prices of the buckets are quite reasonable too. All in all I love having a KFC.
The only downside for me is my local restaurant is really small and no matter what time of the day it is there is always a long queue, but I feel it's worth the wait.
KFC is probably my favourite fast food restaurant. I am a big fan of chicken and their southern fried spice mix is spot on. When you consider the secret blend of herbs and spices is placed over real whole chicken breast/thighs/drumsticks rather than reformed lumps of random meat (unless you get the popcorn chicken!) you can see why so many people love it.
I know people that, like Joey from Friends, just eat the skin and leave the chicken- that's how good the spice mix is.
Now the ultimate, in my opinion at KFC, is the mighty Zinger Tower Burger. In this bad boy you get a whole fillet that has a spicy hot marinade under the traditional spice, a hash brown, a slice of cheese, lettuce, mayo, salsa all in a bun. If you get this as part of a meal and you are not full up by the time you finish, you are probably quite the gannet! Those with a wimpier palate can get the standard Tower Burger, which is still awesome.
They don't sell any beef burgers in KFC, everything is chicken based - I don't even think they have a veggie option. They do a nice range of sides including mini corn-on-the-cob, coleslaw, beans (ahh, there you go veggies!) and chicken gravy
The downside about KFC is their poor chips. Quite why they have poor chips, no one knows, but everyone I know agrees they are the worst out of the fast food trinity of McDonalds, BK and KFC.
It isn't the cheapest, but when you consider the quality of the meat they use, you can forgive an extra 50p-£1 on the price of a meal. As with all fast food restaurants, you can't compare the quality of the food here with what you would find in a "proper" restaurant, but as far as fast food goes - 5 stars!!
KFC used to be one of my favourite fast food outlets, selling so called "chicken based" food. I say so called, as KFC has recently been banned from labelling their food as chicken, as the "chickens" as classed as being mutated through breeding techniques, that they are now to distantly related from a normal chicken. Obviously the rationale behind this is to reduce the time taken for the chickens to reach adulthood, and this reducing the cost of producing their food.
However the food tastes absolutely great and I love it, with the above knowledge aside. The food ranges from burgers, chicken legs/wings, to a range of sides including sweet corn/coleslaw/bake beans etc.
There are a wide and varying range of options to choose from the menu, with my favourite being the KFC Zinger burger. A nice spicy chicken burger, with a side, chicken wings, and a drink for around £5-£6 depending on the outlet.
The KFC outlets can be found in central locations of major towns and in a variety of out of town retail parks. Quality is consistent and the range is broad, so its a real hit with the family!
KFC is my favourite fast food chain. It serves fried chicken on the bone and boneless chicken products and burgers. The ordering process and restaurants are similar to all other fast food places with cheap easy to clean seating and lots of places to order food which is cooked in advance of orders to allow you to get your food as quickly as possible.
The prices tend to be more expensive than burger king and mcdonalds but I think you get a nicer product for the money. However, they use hydroganated fat in the cooking process which is seriously bad for you and in fact it has been banned in many countries around the world for being so bad for your heart.
My problem is that there is always problems with the service more so than other fast food places. There is either a problem with the food being cold or old or there is something missing in the order or we receive the wrong items in our bag. I only ever use the drive-thru the option so this is why getting things sorted is such an inconvenience. The problems are generally always fixed without too much complaining but it is not the point really. I find it spoils the experience of having a KFC.
We are living on the Costa Blanca Please Please can we have a Kentucky in Javea, Denia, or Ondara in the Costa Blanca We go to Benidorm to get ours but it,s at least 1 hour away, there,s loads of Brits here so it will be very popular as it is with us, I have asked a few clubs and people and they are all for it, Hope this is a useful request and it proves fruitfull Kind Regards and Many Thanks Patricia Pearl
I'm not really a very big meat eater, and can be quite fussy about chicken etc. I do however find that the KFC chicken tastes great and I've rarely had a meal from there which I have been disappointed with. Although the service can sometimes be slow (like all catering places during busy periods) I would say that it's always worth the wait. The food tastes better when they are busy-with many catering places the food gets worse when they are busy. My partner always gets the zinger tower meal which is basically a chicken burger, drink and fries-but never has any complaints about it. I always go for the toasted twisted meal, which is a wrap with crispy chicken strips, lettuce, tomato and a pepper mayo. I absolutely love the fries, and like the fact that they now provide everyone with their own salt sachets so that you can add to your own individual taste. KFC cater for groups as well as individuals, with them offerering good deals on family buckets etc. They also offer a good side order menu including corn on the cob, beans and coleslaw. For a family meal you normally pay between £3.79 to just over £5.
