Shame the portions are not bigger or they'd of got the full 5 stars!

Living in Weston Super Mare, I am local to many seaside towns and one of my favourites (if not one of the quietest places to go even in the height of season!) is Burnham-On-Sea. There isn't much there just a seafront with a couple of amusement arcades and one or two chippys...of which this is one and the nicest one I've seen! Me and my flatmate decided to go out have a little lunch whilst we were in Burnham and we both love fish and chips and so when we spotted this place we decided to eat here. The Place: Address: The Esplanade 3 The Esplanade Burnham-on-Sea TA8 1BB Tel: 01278 782221 The building is rather nice.If you can see the review photograph then that is it of course. Lots of wooden benches outside and then double doors through and lots of small white windows, this place is simple but very clean looking and easy to navigate, even for the disabled. To the front of the place you have hot plates and a till and lots of staff, looking very smart and efficient. Round the corner, about 10 tables. It costs no more to eat in here than out and the tables are simply wipe clean ones with plastic chairs, no knives or forks or anything are provided you have to use the plastic and wooden ones that are provided for takeaways. The food here is chip shop style of course. Fish and chips is around a fiver as is plaice and haddock and chips. There are a selection of pies at around a couple of quid each, battered sausage and chicken and things like that. A bag of chips are around £1.30 a bag. Side orders of mushy peas and curry sauce are around a pound a tub and soft drinks in the form of bottles and cans again, cost around a £1 each and there are a large selection of those. You basically can eat in (providing there are tables free of course) or take it away as it is provided in boxes. Me and my friend had fish and chips and they were simply gorgeous. Fresh and hot, no skin and no bones in the fish at all which pleased us greatly. Everyone looked like they were enjoying their grub here and the place was really busy. My only disappointment is that the portions really were not big at all. The food was excellent quality but both me and my flatmate could have done with a bit more food, the chip portions were really mean. On the whole though we were very happy eating here. Inside was clean, staff left you alone and you were simply left to clear your own table away into the bins provided when you'd finished. Toilets were also here and again simple, basic clean and tidy but a helpful thing to have about when no other toilets can be seen for miles though I never spotted a disabled one. This is a simple, good honest takeaway and I love it, and the fact I can sit down and use a loo if desired is brill too!! Not sure of opening times but the phone number is provided if you need to know more!
