we both agree to go out to a restaurant on our first date and we find a nice and cosy place called Ambiente (it is in Finchley ). the waitress greeted us by the door and asked us to select the table ( i think it was nice) we had a bottle off wine and a meal. we also had all the attention that we needed. we went for specials what they do and we were surprised how easy and how simple it was. all the questions that we had were answered. we had a great time and we also looking forward to visit this restaurant again. both we could strongly recommend this restaurant to everyone who love good food and would love to have a good time. our ratings for this restaurant would be: food - 10 points atmosphere -10points service - 10points cost -10 points you wont regret it
I would like to Thank Ambiente for its delicious food, reasonable price, lovely atmosphere and reasonable price. I go to Ambiente every week. Thanks to its quick service, i can benefit from a nice lunch during my lunch break. I often choose a lunch time menu which costs me under £6.00 and choose a big bowl of pasta or a pizza with a soft drink. I also take my family and friends there (during the evening) when we can all choose different food from the extensive menu of pasta, pizza and grill or we go for the evening menu which costs £11.95 for three course meal. This means that after eating the starter and main, we can tuck in to the delicious deserts served by Ambiente (all homemade) and complete the meal. The restaurant is clean and the staff are really friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner, however i would certainly book in advance for the evening to avoid disappointment.
No ambience at Ambiente'.AVOID THIS PLACE..RUDE STAFF AND BAD FOOD As a new mother, I was absolutely appalled with the treatment my friend and I received. We checked to confirm it was okay to lunch here with our babies. When the babies stirred, before we fed them expressed milk from the bottle, we were met with evil looks from the staff, until eventually the waitress told us that "The chef has told me to tell you to shut your babies up!" We could not believe it.. The waitress kept trying to take our plates away before we were finished, to try to get us to leave quickly. So upset and angered by our treatment.. The pasta and pizza was average... I could do better myself.. You have lost a lot of business as I have told all my friends with children to avoid this restaurant with such a hostile environment.
Recently there was a fire in my favorite cafe which has left me with nowhere to go and write. It's always difficult to find a cafe or restaurant to write in because I want somewhere that's quiet but I also want good food and generally a quiet restaurant is not a sign of good food! I discovered Ambiente when a leaflet was posted through my door and after reading some positive reviews on the internet I decided to check it out. My initial impressions were very good. When I walked into the restaurant I was greeted by a very friendly waitress who gave me a choice of tables to sit at. There was only one other table being occupied so it was quiet enough for me to concentrate on my novel. The restaurant was very clean and although the chair was a little bit too hard for my personal tastes it didn't cause me any real discomfort. There was plenty of space for my laptop and my food on the table which is very important for me. Even when I don't have my laptop I like to have a lot of space when I eat so this was a big plus for the restaurant. I liked the way that the restaurant was decorated. It is very simple, with plain white walls and I think it makes the restaurant look much bigger than it actually is (it's a very small restaurant). It looks very upmarket. There was a lunch offer on so I was able to get a bowl of pasta and a drink for £5.95 which was less than you would usually pay just for the pasta on its own. Looking at the menu I thought it was very over priced but assumed that it must mean that the food was worth paying for. I'm so pleased that I didn't pay full price for it! The menu is a combination of Spanish and Italian and the cost of main meals is between £11 and £17. Pizza and pasta are slightly cheaper but still very expensive for what they are (£6.75 for a margherita). I was very impressed with the service. The waitress was friendly and polite. She gave me long enough to look at the menu but didn't leave me waiting for too long. The drink was served almost immediately, although she only gave me three quarters of a glass of coke and the part of me that still has a student mentality wanted to ask for the rest of my drink! The food was also served very quickly. The food was awful. I ordered Tagliatelle al Funghi which is described as being in a rich creamy mushroom and garlic sauce. The only thing you could taste in this dish was the garlic. I love garlic, I like to have it most food but this was too much even for me. I couldn't taste the mushroom or the cream in the sauce and six hours and various other foods later I could still taste garlic in my mouth. The problem with the meal wasn't just that there was too much garlic but that there wasn't enough sauce to go around all of the pasta. Half of the tagliatelle was completely dry...but still tasted purely of garlic. Towards the end of my meal I felt very rushed. The waitress came over and told me that they were closing at half past two. I had got there at about 1.50pm, perhaps later and I wish that they had told me that they were closing soon before I had ordered, I hate being rushed when I'm eating. I'm very disappointed that the food was so bad because the waitress was very nice. She was friendly and very efficient. Service was quick (but that may be because they were trying to get me out of there as soon as possible) and the restaurant was very clean, as were the toilets. It's just unfortunate that the food was awful. I have never had such an awful Italian meal before. There may be other things on the menu that are nicer and perhaps it's not fair to judge this restaurant based on one dish but that one dish was so bad that I will most definitely not be going back to Ambiente.
