      Good family sized fridge freezer

This fridge freezer is larger than the usual fridge freezer, but small than an American style one. What made it perfect for me is that I wanted a frost free that fitted in a specific space. I originally wanted an American style but on looking at them the fridge was too big and the freezer too small anyway. This Beko is perfect in both size of the fridge area and the freezer capacity. It comes with a removeable bottle store which fits on the shelf of your choice - cool beers or wine! Three nice sized shelves and two salad drawers. The door has bottle areas, eggs etc as usual. You cant get a 6 pint milk on the door shelf though if you buy the larger bottles. The drink dispenser doesn't seem to take any room away from the fridge. Its easy to fill, has a child lock so little hands can't empty it all over your kitchen floor. It's easy to clean. The freezer is fast freeze at the top with an ice cube maker which I must say I thought I could live without but it is actually brilliant. This is a drop front shelf. Three roomy drawers are underneath that area. The drawers are made of plastic and the fronts don't seem to pull off like some freezers I've had before. Quite sturdy drawers with plenty of room in them. It's a nice mid silver colour. It has a bright blue neon light on the top front of the fridge when switched on. This light is bright enough for a runway but quite pleasant. Frost free tends to mean louder running noise and I would say this is fairly noisy at times. It gurgles probably keeping the frost away. I don't find it irritating but some might. I can't hear it in the night but when I'm in the kitchen, which I am a lot, its one of those things that when you hear it you cant not hear it. Worth the money paid for it but you do only get a 12 month warranty with this so its worth considering one of those insurance covers for household goods (mine is £3 a month) as its a lot cheaper than repairs or buying a new fridge freezer.

      Rather disappointed in this

I purchased mine 3 years ago, and as it was from a catalogue I cant remember exactly how much it was, but it seemed a good price at the time. My grandchildren always wanted an American Fridge, with ice cubes and cold water in the door on the front, and as I couldnt get that one, I decided on this. Its a very spacious fridge with ajustable shelves (which I thought were a little heavy) which are are made of glass with plastic trimming. Mine has a wine rack in also, which can be placed at the top or the bottom of the fridge. The plastic compartments on the fridge door where the milk is stored, somehow always tended to come off, and eventually snapped near the back, but I was able to alter that a little as it had two slots for adjustments. The door itself has a water container at the back for cold water to be dispensed from the front, on the push of the lever which has a child lock on to avoid unneccesary spills, however, the children would tend to keep pushing it, as the water didnt come out when it was locked, and this lever can easily snap. The drawers at the bottom of the fridge, I found would somehow always get liquid/fluids at the bottom back. This could tend to cause a smell if unnoticed. The dial in the fridge for coolness I didnt think was much good either, as it didnt always seem to keep the food as cold as it should, and sometimes it could be knocked and altered when pulling food out if it is stored high. It also has a little plunger hole at the back which I found to get clogged sadly. The freezer part was rather better, with its plastic drawers, where we can see what is in the drawers before opening, it was frost free and had a small fan at the back of the ice cube department, but it was always necessary to check the children had not pushed the lolly ices to far back, as this can jam the quick freeze fan. The lolly ice compartment door was also easily broken. I was a little disappointed in this product as I came home one day to an awful smell in the kitchen, it was a gas like smell, and it seemed to be coming from the fridge/freezer. The fridge and freezer had stopped working too. I rang Beko who were going to charge me to send an engineer to fix it but not long after that I heard from newspapers and a letter in the post from Beko that there had been a small problem with certain product numbers, mine was one of them. Beko sent out an engineer, and he had to change something like a gas canister at the back and a pipe, then it seemed to be working ok after that. The fridge/freezer itself can be easily moved but you need to make sure that you adjust the legs on it correctly as the door will tend to close itself. A little disappointed in this product

Great for bigger families who need lots of storage in the fridge

I purchased this fridge freezer as my old one seemed a little small when I had my third child. It doesn't disappoint as it is very roomy and has moveable glass shelves in the fridge section. Fridge section You have your glass shelves a bottle shelf and also two nice sized plastic drawers at the bottom resting underneath a glass shelf. There is also plenty of storage in the door where I store my milk, cheeses etc. we chose this one as the girls loved the idea of getting their own cool water from the door apparently it's much cooler than straight from the tap, and at least it gets them drinking more water and less fizzy drinks! It is also quite easy to clean as you can remove everything give it a good wash and then dry and replace, you also have your temperature dial at the top which you can adjust to suit. Freezer section In the freezer you have your larger compartments and then a smaller one at the bottom. There is also a handy ice tray at the top although my children have pulled this out several times resulting in ice on the floor as it is quite flimsy, and if pulled right out just seems to fall. A problem I have encountered is ice!!! This is a frost free freezer however on several occasions I have had to defrost my freezer as there was an ice build up at the back which then caused the fan to stop rotating and resulted in my food defrosting. Not very good!! The Beko wording on the outside of the freezer also lost a letter as it fell off. Overall This is a good freezer with plenty of space and having a big family we certainly get our use from it and if the ice problem is a one off fault I would not hesitate to recommend. I purchased mine from comet however currys also do a price match I believe so if you shop around it is always worth asking in store.

        Good buy, very reliable.

We have now had our Beko Fridge/Freezer for almost two years. It's proved itself to be reliable and we think really good value for money. We bought ours from Littlewoods for £499 - however there is money off in the sale and its now £389. It is very modern in the silver, however it also has a white option. It is originally taller than i had imagined, but its still easy to reach all the shelves, and i am 5ft 4ins. It is very stiff to pull open for those sneaky little fingers who might want to help themselves to a midnight snack! Comes as standard with a great 2L water dispenser, which is very handy as your water is always kept cool. It is A class energy efficient and frost free so no need to be chipping away at ice! There are a few little snags in my opinion though that pull my rating down a little. We have found a lot of condensation build up in the fridge compartment, which is due to a constant blockage of sludge in the channels. I looked this up and you have to plunge the little hole to clear the channel, then it seems to be ok again - for a short while! I do find I have to do this a lot. There is a great fast freeze large top drawer, but all the doors on the freezer seem to be very flimsy. My second drawer tray has actually cracked. Overall a great fridge freezer, with more than enough capacity for a family of four.

I bought this around a year ago and had no problems with it. It is very reliable, looks modern inside and out, and is very well priced. The water dispenser is great for the summer and holds just the right amount of water (2 litre spring water bottle). Overall this is worth buying as it is very well priced and does everything it says on the tin. The only downside is the draws in the freezer compartment, they are very brittle and very easy to crack if not too careful.

          Recommend to anyone

It was time to update my frige freezer and this one instantly caught my eye. After checking to make sure it would fit into my kitchen I placed an order and excited awaited delivery of my new fridge freezer. When it arrived it took two people to carry the box inside as it was so heavy and bulky. Once they had left I began unpacking it to get a chance to see what it looked like. My first impressions of this item where that it was a very nice design, silver glossy and although it was very bulky, it didn't look overly big as it had been desgined so well. I plugged it in to let it begin to freeze and read the instruction manual to get a better idea of how it worked. So far and so good with this fridge as I find I don't have to defrost it that often... and it also leave no funny smells like previous fridges did. My favourite feature with this is the water dispenser on the front, it makes water easily accessible and ensures that it is always dispensed very chilled. I have heard of people putting other liquids rather than just water in this, but I wouldn't recommend it. I have had no problems withthis fridge so far and would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their current model.

          Disadvantages

We have found it to have ample storage and has so far proved to be reliable.

This silver monster is pretty imposing as fridge freezers go. Its big, it's roomy and best of all its frost-free. Frost free? Well that means that you won't have to go digging around in it every few weeks with your chisel and hairdryer removing all the excessive white stuff. Always a bonus I would say. The fridge compartment makes up the top half of this item. It is large and has enough shelves and compartments to refrigerate almost anything you could desire. The door contains two tall shelves for bottles and a shallower shelf for small bottles and cans etc along with an egg tray. At the top there is a dairy compartment for your butter and cheese. All these shelves have ample room for their jobs, as do the main shelves in the fridge. This contains moveable shelving so that you can have them as you please. There is also a moveable wine rack to keep that favourite bottle of white plonk cool and ready for Sunday dinner. Speaking of which there is a meat shelf at the bottom for storing meat and sausages etc. You know that fresh meat should be kept separately to other food don't you? And as it is at the bottom nothing is going to drip onto other food to possibly contaminate it. Under the meat shelves are two crisper boxes for the fruit and veg. They are closed to avoid contact with the meat above and just easily pull out when required to open. The freezer makes up the bottom half of the beast. It has four drawers; each is quite large with the bottom one being slightly less deep than the others are. The top draw is the fast freeze draw and also contains the ice trays. The freezer has a fan in the rear that circulates cold air. All up the BEKO gives you 14.2 cu.ft of storage, quite a lot more than our previous one. It has some nifty gadgets too, a 2.2 litre capacity water dispenser in the door so that you have chilled water on tap, great for making squash on a summers day. Use of the water dispenser is simplicity itself, to get a drink all you have to do is place your glass in the dispensing compartment and push the lever with your glass. Filling is easy too, just pour water from a jug into the reservoir inside the door up to the fill line. Easy as that. Another aid to chilled drinks is the icemaker in the freezer compartment. This is a really good idea. The ice is made in an ice tray and at the twist of a knob all the ice cubes fall into a tray below. It's a lot easier than mucking about with regular ice trays that's for sure. It also has a nice blue neon light in the front that not only tells you that the machine is working but it looks good too. Noise wise, there is a slight hum as the freezer does its stuff but it is very muted and unobtrusive and it fades into the background to become almost unnoticeable. So that's the machine, how about when it gets delivered. Simplicity itself, if you are lucky the delivery man will set it up for you but if not then it is not a problem. First decide where you want your appliance and then fit the two wall spacers at the back to keep the condenser coils from bashing into the wall. When they have been fitted adjust the feet so that your new BEKO stands up nice and straight. Remove the plug from its protective niche in the back, plug it in replace the grill at the front and you are ready to rock or should that be ice. Fitting was where we had our only problem. Our fault really, we just didn't realise just how much wider it was than our other one. So yes you guessed it, our brand spanking new BEKO wouldn't fit in the available space so we had to turn it sideways, not ideal but it fits for now until we come up with a long term solution. It does say in the instructions that you need to have a 10cu. m. to fit the machine, bit late once you have purchased it but never mind that is a minor problem. A bit more major was our need to have the doors opening the other way, not too great a worry as the instructions are quite straight forward and easy to follow and the procedure is fairly simple too so that was accomplished in a short time. All in all the instruction book is well laid out and easy to follow and included all we wanted to know. You also get supplied with a guarantee card to fill in and send off to validate your purchase. We bought our BEKO from Comet for £350 base price plus delivery and removal of our old fridge freezer. We thought they might as well do it as you can't just take fridges or freezers to the dump and for the sake of saving us hassle I thought a £15 charge was reasonable. Anyway together with the item and delivery and disposal plus a five-year guarantee that covers all food as well as parts and labour the total cost of our investment was £565. I thought that was quite good value, now if it lasts as long as its predecessor we will be well happy. Cleaning is straightforward. Use a damp cloth to clean the outside and either a damp cloth inside or if better cleaning is required then bicarbonate of soda diluted in water can be used. This BEKO product is an A class freezer as is BEAB approved and safety assured. All in all we are very pleased with our BEKO and hope to have it in our kitchen for a long time to come.
