      a solid dish

There is usually some sort of lattice on offer whenever I go shopping, be it a Birds Eye one or a Tesco own variety. I am partial to the odd lattice. The combination of puff pastry and chicken inside is a prime winter warmer and on these chilly nights you cannot beat it with some mash and fresh vegetables.

Retailing for about three quid, the Birds Eye lattice is an oblong shaped pie creation with a splendid outer crust. There is a good level of texturing on it which helps the heat penetrate it while it cooks. It also gives the dish a rustic look, rather like a loaf of bread, which I like.

Cooking time varies, supposedly thirty minutes, but I tend to leave it in for a few more minutes, just so I can achieve a nice golden brown tinge on the pastry. When you take it out, allow to stand for a couple of minutes, then slice away! It carves quite easily, though you might need to steady the baking tray incase it slides onto the floor as you slice.

I would say a lattice might stretch to three people, that is allowing for a generous slice per person. Four people..not so sure. The taste is great though, with generous sized bits of chicken mingled with small bits of ham, wrapped up in a creamy cheesy sauce. All the ingredients work well, though the ham does not appear to be wonderful quality.

The lattice can also be eaten a day after or so, by microwaving, though it tends to go soggy at this stage. Worth buying for a winter filling meal and best served with peas, which soak up the cheesy sauce and a creamy side mash. I will continue to buy, though I would like to see less processed ham inside.

      Birds Eye Chicken Lattice

      Description - frozen food.

In case you are unsure what a chicken lattice actually is, let me explain. They are basically marinated chunks of chicken breast meat and a bacon and cheese sauce encased in puff pastry (which is lattice shaped across the top, hence the name) They are available in two different flavours, bacon and cheddar cheese and broccoli and cheese. This review is of the bacon and cheese ones.

A pack of two lattices (310g) will cost around £2.85 and can be found in the freezer section of most supermarkets.

These lattices are best cooked in the oven from frozen. They take around 25 minutes (check pack for cooking times and temperatures as these vary according to the type of oven that you have) and should be turned halfway through cooking.

The pasty is pretty good, it is light and buttery and there is just the right amount of it. Inside, the chicken is tender and the sauce creamy and delicious. It is a cheese and ham sauce but there isn't very much ham, so it is more cheesy than anything else. If I could improve these chicken lattices, I think it would be by adding a little more sauce and also adding more ham to them. Having said that, they are pretty good for a frozen food and served with steamed vegetables, make a decent enough dinner.

These lattices are quite a good size, and one served with accompaniments is more than enough for a meal, but they would be better if they had more sauce as they were a little bit dry. The sauce was perhaps a little saltier than a home made version of this meal would be but still enjoyable. I think that as far as frozen foods go, these lattices are relatively good. Of course, a home made version is always going to be better but if you lack the time or inclination, then these are a decent enough stand by to keep in the freezer.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Worth the price

Birds Eye Chicken Lattices come in two different varieties - bacon and cheddar cheese or cheddar cheese and broccoli but the bacon and cheddar cheese is definitely my favourite out of the two.

They come in a puff pastry shell which tastes delicious when cooked properly - crispy round the edge but still fairly soft in the middle. They take around 30 minutes to cook in the oven but they are definitely worth the wait.

These are so delicious - they puff pastry is so tasty and the chicken is always cooked perfectly when done for the correct amount of time. It's made from chicken breast meat so it's perfectly white and I've never had a chewy or not very tasty part. The cheddar cheese is more like a cheese sauce coated on top of the chicken which isn't too cheesy but does give the whole lattice a lovely taste and stops it being dry. The bacon comes in small chopped up square of bacon dotted throughout the lattice and this goes really well with the chicken and cheese.

These are quite expensive but some things that are so delicious are worth it and this is definitely one of them. I always have a box of these in my freezer as they're one of my favourite frozen meals and worth a go if you like this sort of thing.

        .

We got 1 of these the other month. Although I thought this looked nice enough, I hoped there wasn't too much Pastry and not enough filling. It all went together nicely though, and I would buy this again.

Not sure of the right price of these, but we got it for £1.50 on offer. Hadn't seen this before in the freezers, but now we are aware of it, then I could see us having this on the odd occassion. This 1 done 2 of us with some Chips and Veg and made a nice meal.

This was Pastry on the bottom with a filling of Chicken Breast Meat. Little Chicken Breast chunks which are tender and just the right size. There is a little bit Chicken gravy in this too, which moistens this up a bit as with all that Pastry it could have turned out as dry. There is a sprinkling of Cheese in this as well, and this is covered with a Pastry Lattice on top.

This took about 30 minutes to cook in the oven. It came out Crisp and Flaky on top, with the inside nice and moist.

This is pretty high in fat and calories, moreso due to all the Pastry, but a nice change of a Chicken item.

Not something I would eat all the time, but a nice change.

        Yummy Dinner.

I thought Id write this review today mainly because of a conversation Ive just this minute had with my mom. I was just telling her that I proper fancied eating a Chicken Lattice & she turned around and asked me what a lattice was. She has just told me she has never heard of let alone eaten a lattice! Is it just me or is that really odd?! Anyway so Im off to the shop in a bit to buy a pack of these Birdseye lattices so she can finally get around to trying one, and Im going to ahve one for myself of course. :)

I think you can get these lattice's in two flavours Chicken with Cheese & Ham and Chicken with Bacon & Cheese. I personally have tried them both but for this review Im going to concentrate on the Ham & Cheese flavour because that is the better one of the two in my opinion.

        Two Lattices Per Pack.

        Nutritional Information:
        Calories: 460
        Sugar: 3.9g
        Fat: 27.0g
        Salt: 1.5g

But as they are eaten as part of a full meal I dont think the values are that bad considering some of the products on the market these days. Obviously though they are maybe better of as a treat rather than an every day meal.

        Allergens Contains Wheat, Milk, Mustard.

        Cooking Instructions:
[Found On The Birdseye Website, I Cant Cook Properly Hehe]:
Tastiest when OVEN BAKED STRAIGHT FROM THE FREEZER.
        Oven: 30 mins - 220°C or Fan 200°C or Gas Mark 7
        - Pre-heat oven.
        - Place on a baking tray in middle of the oven.
        - Turn halfway through cooking.
        - Cook until crisp and golden.

        The Taste:
The chicken breast that is inside this lattice is absolutely amazing, it tastes really fresh and juicy and is actually a really thick piece rather than a little sliver you get with some lattices and I dont know what Birdseye have seasoned their chicken breast with but whatever it is they have done it perfectly.

The cheese sauce I think is as close to perfect as you can get. Its not a runny horrible sauce but nor is it really thick and stringy so they have got the consistency just right. The cheese has a really nice, quite strong flavour to it but its not so strong that it overpowers the chicken and ham and I think all the flavours all go really well together. There isn't really much ham in this lattice but the pieces that are contained are full of flavour and they have a nice salty kick to them which works with the chicken & cheese flavours really well.

Now obviously the most important part of the lattice is the pastry, well in my opinion anyway. And the pastry for this particular lattice is just as delicious as the filling, it tastes quite buttery and rich and it is really soft, if a bit flaky when you come to cutting it up.

I think all the different flavours and textures in this lattice work really well together and it does taste absolutely fantastic.

Price: I got my pack a few weeks ago on sale for around £2 and I think the normal retail price is around £3 but your paying for quality I reckon so Im happy to pay that price.

        Overall Opinion:
I think these are great because not only are they proper nice and filling you can eat them with pretty much anything. I usually have mine with chips and peas/some other vegetable but I know people who eat them with noodles, salad, new potatoes etc so you can swap your meals to suit your individual tastes. I recommend these to everyone and Im off to the shop now to buy my mom a pack so she can try them for herself!

        Thanks For Reading

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A great quick meal or snack served on it's own!

          Birdseye Chicken Lattices

          Taste
These Birdseye chicken lattices come in a choice of two flavours, cheese and bacon or cheese and broccoli, my favourite is most definitely the cheese and broccoli one! The taste is delicious, and doesn't really taste mass produced too much! The pastry goes nice and crispy, and there is usually a good amount of filling inside the pastry before you get to a lightly battered chicken breast which is a proper chicken breast and not processed rubbish.

The cheese and bacon tastes quite smokey and bacony with small bits of onion in the sauce, I like this one, but it's not my favourite, even though I am a huge fan of bacon! But I still prefer the cheese and broccoli as the flavour is much more intense and strong especially the cheese flavour.

The chicken can taste a little bland if you disassemble the lattice as I used to as a kid, I don't know if this is just because there is no added anything to it (so no salt), but it can taste a bit dry and tasteless, but when eaten altogether, this isn't an issue at all!

They have a lovely taste, which fills you up as well as tasting great, they are a good way to get children to eat more "adventurous" things, before I had these I was very fussy, but these made me start loving broccoli and cheese flavoured things whereas before I didn't really. So they're a good idea for a quick meal for a youngster!

          Look
When they're cooked these do look very appetising, they have a golden brown top, and the filling rarely seeps out of the pastry which is good as with some foods like these or Chicken Kiev's, the filling comes out and it means it is very dry inside. But these aren't like that, and have a good amount of filling. The pastry is always golden brown when cooked, but can be easily burned if your oven is on too hot.

They look and smell delicious when cooked, and although a gorgeous home made chicken lattice looks and smells even nicer, these are a great quick alternative if you don't have the time to make one from scratch.

          Kcal 460
          Protein 20g
          Carbs 30g
          Fat 29g
          Of which saturates 15g
          Fibre 1.1g
          Salt (NOT sodium) 1.3g

As you can see they're not exactly the healthiest of foods, with 22% of your recommended salt intake, 75% fat intake!! But they're ok to have once in a while, especially if you're not someone who is watching your weight especially. And if you tend to eat barely any fat or salt, they're not too bad. And they're fast and easy to cook, so if you're in a rush they're perfect!!

They're made with 100% chicken breast.

Each lattice contains: Wheat, Milk and Egg.

          Prices
These cost around £2.75 for 2 chicken lattices. At the moment from Iceland, there is an offer on of 50% extra free in each pack, so you get 3 lattices for the price of 2.
You can sometimes get these on special offer of around £2 a pack which isn't too bad!!

          All in all
Ok well while I would always choose a home made chicken lattice over one of these frozen ones every time, these Birdseye Chicken Lattices are great if you don't have enough time to make yourself a home made one, or if you have a busy life, or a large family who all want feeding at different times with different foods! They taste great and although they're not the healthiest option, they are still delicious and not _too_ unhealthy to have once in a while served with veg and home made mash or boiled potatoes!

These are definitely a great quick meal or even a snack at lunch time served on it's own!

Definitely 9 out of 10 and 4 stars! Losing a star only for the fact it's not as healthy as some meals, and that a home made chicken lattice is much tastier!!! But still a great quick meal!

A Delish Part Of My Dinner Tonight

I've just had a ham and cheese Chicken Lattice for my tea and enjoyed it so much that I thought I'd tell you about it.

It's a chicken breast with a thick cheese and ham sauce around it, that has been covered in pastry and the top of it has got bits cut out to give it the lattice look.

They come frozen with 2 in a box and take about 25 mins to cook, I love the rich smell of the sauce as it's cooking because it didn't smell greasy at all and I could smell a mix of the cheese and chicken.

The pastry is delish, it flakes when you cut into it but most of it stays in one piece as you cut it. I love the taste of the pastry because it's quite buttery tasting and goes so good with the flavour of the chicken. The chicken is a lot better quality than I thought it would be and it tastes like proper meat instead of the reformed stuff you normally get in this kind of chicken product.

The sauce is the best thing about the Lattice I reckon, it's so thick and creamy that it doesn't even drip when you lift a bit on your fork. You can taste the cheese in it and also I was happy that the taste of the ham is so fresh and strong. There are quite a lot of pieces of ham mixed in with the sauce and that gives it a lovely meaty flavour and texture.

I think all the different things in the Lattice go wicked together and it makes a delish meal, I had mine with some noodles and fried mushrooms and it was a yummy dinner and just nice for this cold weather because it was so filling and tasty.

We brought these when they were on special offer and £1.49 a box but the normal price is about £2.29, I still reckon it's worth that though because it's just an extra special chicken breast and even plain chicken would cost loads more than that. You can get other varieties as well and I'm going to try them also soon.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

Great easy and tasty meal option

Birds Eye Bacon and Cheddar Cheese Chicken Lattices are a staple of my freezer, they're a great meal option when you're not in the mood for cooking and want something tasty that you can throw straight into the oven and forget about until they're ready. In fact I have one cooking in the oven as we speak, and that's what prompted me to write this review! Birds Eye also produce a Chicken lattice with cheese and broccoli, but I've not tried them so this review cover the cheese and bacon lattices only.

              The Product

The lattices are made with 100% chicken breast which is marinated, with a layer of rich, creamy cheese sauce which contains bacon pieces all covered in a light puff pasty shell. To cook oven bake straight from the freezer at 220 degrees c for 30 minutes (or 200 for fan assisted ovens - who doesn't have one of those these days?! / gas mark 7). You get 2 lattices per 310g pack.

              Verdict

When you lift the lattice out of the oven, get it on your plate and tuck in you are presented with golden brown puff pastry which is light and tasty, a rich cheese and bacon sauce (although be careful as it's a little hot to start of with) and moist, tender chicken breast. The combination of textures work really well together, the crisp pastry, moist and meaty chicken breast and the creamy sauce combination is delicious. Also, as a combination of flavours goes, the buttery pastry works well with the other elements of the lattice, and of course chicken is often served with cheese and bacon. Indeed a chicken breast stuffed with cheese and wrapped in prosciutto ham is one of my favourite dishes, so Bird's Eye have followed a tried and tested formula which works. The sauce really lifts the lattice as in my opinion the lattice would be a little dry without it.

              Summary

Great tasting meal option for those with no time to prepare a meal from scratch. The chicken is moist, pastry light and crisp and the sauce rich and cheesy. Probably won't taste as good as a home made lattice, but the convenience factor makes it top notch from my perspective!

                /

I love Birds Eye products and one of their items I'm particularly fond of is their chicken lattices. There are two types of lattice, the bacon and cheese or the broccoli and cheese version. The one I tried was the bacon and cheese ones.
They can be found in all supermarkets such as Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's and I have also seen them in smaller shops and little newsagents. They are frozen products and can therefore be found in the freezers. In my local Asda they were placed in a freezer next to all the other beef burgers of different brands however sometimes they will be found alongside all the other Birds Eye Products.

The ones I am reviewing now are they bacon and cheese. They come in a box that contains 2 of them and each product weighs 155g. The box costs £2. This therefore works out at £1 per lattice. Personally I don't feel that this is brilliant value but in the current credit crisis it isn't as bad as it is going to get. If you think about it a chicken burger from the likes of McDonalds will cost you around £1.10 so this is probably just about right!

The 2 lattices come in an attractive box. It is mainly yellow in colour and looks really quite pretty. on the back obviously is all of the nutritional information and ingredients. On the front is the brand name, some product information, and a beautiful, mouth watering picture. The picture is of one of the lattices. It is cut in half so you can see the filling spilling out. This is very tempting and it is very appealing. In the background there is some images of green beans which is a decent serving suggestion.

Taking them out the packet I noticed they were a nice size. They were a lot bigger than I had expected which was great! They did look quite pale in colour though and I hoped they'd brown up a little. We cooked them in the oven and once they had finished cooking, the delicious aroma had wafted around the house. There was a definite cheese smell however the main scent was pastry. It smelled really like a sausage roll cooking in the oven.

We served them with a portion of chips and some baked beans. This was a lovely substantial meal and kept me filled up for quite a while. The lattice was gorgeous. The pastry was so flaky but had just the right amount of chew to it too. It tasted very buttery and very similar to sausage roll pastry. The inside was yummy too. The chicken was soft and chewy and had a nice intense flavour to it. The bacon was nice but there wasn't very much of it. The cheese was lovely too and tasted just like cheddar. Overall the taste was amazing.

One lattice contains 390 calories and 23g of fat. Personally I find this an awful lot and therefore would only recommend on special occasions or if you arent watching your weight.

                Mmmmm

Birds Eye Chicken Lattice's come in 2 different flavours, Cheese & Brocolli and Cheese & Bacon. Both are just as delicious as the other. Fresh tasting chicken breast, smothered in creamy cheese (and either brocolli or bacon) with a soft delicious flakey pastry casing.

                - Packaging -

The packaging is a simple cardboard box, with the big bold Birds Eye logo, and a picture of the cooked lattice (depending on flavour). All nutritional information and ingredients are clearly stated on the back of the box, as are the cooking instructions.

                - Price -

I bought my lattice's from Asda for £2, this if for the pack of 2 Bacon & Cheese flavour. It may seem a little expensive but your paying for quality and taste on this one. Considering you'd probably pay around 70p/80p for a cheap pasty or something from Gregs, why not push the boat out and get some real quality in your savoury product and go for these.

                - Overall -

Ok so they're not fabulous for your wasteline, but they taste so good. Put together with some lovely fresh vegetables it's the perfect savoury treat for tea time. The chicken tastes fresh and juicy, I think a lot of the fat content probably comes from the creamy cheese, but to be honest I'm not really worried about that. You have to give yourself a treat sometimes, and this is the perfect thing. The pastry is soft, and flakey and crumbles nicely in your mouth. I absolutely love these lattice's, and for £2 at your local Asda, in my opinion they're not too expensive at all as your paying for top quality food. Any cheaper and I'd start to doubt whether the chicken was of good quality etc.

Birds Eye pride themselves on quality meat when it comes to their products so I don't doubt that for a second. You can taste the juicyness and fresh taste of the chicken.

Both flavours of the lattice's are delicious, but my favourite is definately the cheese & bacon flavour, it's the perfect combination with chicken. Like i said before, they're not overly good in the nutritional content, but what they lack in goodness fat wise etc, they make up for in taste. Which is what people say isn't it? What tastes good is never good for you? ha ha!

                Thanks for reading! :)

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

The bacon & cheddar cheese ones make number one for me!

Birds Eye make two different types of frozen chicken lattice - bacon & cheddar cheese, and cheddar cheese & broccoli. My favourite thing to eat for dinner at home is without a doubt the bacon & cheddar cheese chicken lattice. I love chicken but these are just something else - they are just gorgeous!

Each lattice is made with a marinated chunk of 100% chicken breast meat, coated in a cheddar cheese sauce with bacon pieces in, covered in a light puff pastry. It takes 30 minutes to oven cook at 220 degrees C, gas mark 7. The edging of the pastry seems to cook quicker than the centre part so when it is fully cooked, the edging is a deep golden brown colour and is quite crispy and flaky whilst the centre and top is softer and soaks up the cheese sauce more. The chicken is always just perfectly cooked and there is not too much sauce that it overbears the other ingredients, yet just enough to give a mild cheesy taste with eat bite. I always like to have some sauce with my chicken such as ketchup, but because there is already sauce in this, that's all I need.

They come in a yellow box with the Birds Eye symbol on and a very tasty looking picture of a freshly cooked lattice. The pack advises that even though 'great care' has been taken to remove all bones, there may still be some in the chicken. However, I've eaten so many of these and I've not once ever come across a bone. The picture above of the lattice really doesn't do it justice - it actually makes it look quite disgusting! Take a look online or in the shops at the product image on the pack which looks so much nicer and shows what it actually looks like when cooked.

They are usually found in a pack of 2 costing £2 but Iceland offer a pack of 3 with 50% extra free costing about £2.50. Although, admittedly, this is quite expensive and I usually only buy cheaper products or items that are on offer, these are the one and only thing that I just have to buy no matter how much they are.

Each lattice contains 460kcal, 3.9g sugars, 27.0g fat and no artificial colours or flavours.

I've never tried the cheddar cheese & broccoli variety as I'm not too keen on broccoli, but they do also look very tasty and are slightly healthier, containing less fat and a few less calories (445kcal).

                    Advantages

                    Disadvantages

A great quick easy meal to make and reasonably priced!

I prefer the Chicken Lattice with cheese sauce and broccoli - comes in a pack of 2 and they are frozen. This is what I would usually call my lazy dinner consisting of one chicken lattice and half a tin of beans! It takes about 35 mins to cook the lattice in the oven.

A lattice contains 445 calories (guess that is the pastry and the cheese), the chicken is inside the pastry lattice and is covered in cheese sauce and there are tiny chunks of broccoli. There are no artificial colours or added preservatives and so is a very tasty meal. I always have to have a box of these in my freezer at all times! Once the product is cooked it is piping hot and takes a while to cool down.

I really enjoy this quick and easy meal, they usually sell for £1.99 in most supermarkets but sometimes they are on special offer but that doesn't seem to be too often. I still think they are worth the money at £1.00 a lattice anyway.

Overall I have become quite an addict to these lattices and I really think they are very tasty!

                      Advantages

                      Disadvantages

                      ..

When I shop in Iceland I tend to always buy things to put in the freezer which are quick and convenient as not only am I not a very good cook when it comes to cooking from scratch I am in fact extremely lazy and don't really bother. Chicken though is one of my favourite meats and near enough anything I buy in Iceland is chicken this or chicken that. One thing you will always find in my freezer is Birds Eye Chicken Lattice - Bacon and Cheddar Cheese.

Birds Eye is a well known brand and one of the top brands Iceland tend to sell within their freezers apart from the usual Iceland stuff. I pay £2.25 for a box of 3, but thats usually with 50% free, so otherwise it would only be for a box of 2. I have seen them in other stores but usually a little bit more in price and not with the free lattice, and now I know why as it says on the size of the box 'Exclusive to Iceland'.

Despite it being a freezer food and not many people that keen on freezer foods they are surprisingly good and tasty. It is a succulent chicken breast, topped with a bacon and cheddar cheese sauce and all wrapped neatly in puff pastry. They take approximately 30 minutes to cook in the oven. So long as not burnt or overdone the pastry is probably the best part of the lattice in my opinion, it actually tastes fresh, and really does puff out at the top. It is crispy and complements the chicken and it's sauce.

It does state on the back of the box 'Although great care has been taken to remove all bones, some may remain'. I've never read that before until now for this review, that kind of worries me now but as of yet I havn't come across any bones in the chicken, luckily!

As for people with allergies these do contain Wheat, Milk and Mustard .. Again I'm reading off the back of the box.

One of these can be a rather tasty, quick and convenient meal, with a few greens on the side. I love them and never fail to buy them if I shop in Iceland. I reccomend them if you are looking for something thats easy to cook and doesn't require any hardwork. I also find them really filling, they don't look like they would be that filling but looks can be deceiving.

You can also purchase these with another flavour sauce of Cheese and Broccoli, but I havn't tried them and don't intend to as the picture puts me off and sometimes I do tend to eat with my eyes

                        Advantages

                        Disadvantages

A tasty pie that may come in handy for the odd mealtime

Birds Eye Chicken lattice snacks were on a recent special offer at my local Farmfoods store, I have never tried them before but seeing as the offer was £1 a packet and that the packet contains two chicken lattice snacks I though nothing ventured nothing gained and bought a pack to try.
Most of the Birds Eye products are good quality so I didn't see why these should be any different.

The packet contained two Chicken Lattice cheese and broccoli pies and if looks were anything to go by Birds Eye had made them look very tempting on the packet.
The cardboard box has a background picture of what I am taking to be an exceptionally beautiful sunset, I cant quite put a chicken pie and a sunset in the same train of thought but Birds Eye obviously have their reasons.
A half a chicken lattice pie sits to the right of the packet and clearly shows chunks of succulent chicken, broccoli and cheese sauce.

The pies are cooked from frozen, so when you remove them from the box they are solid and look unappetising and uninteresting.
Preheat the oven to 160C and for effect brush the tops of the pies over with either milk or beaten egg.
Place them into the middle of the oven and go and have a go at the crossword.
In between clues make sure to lift your nostrils high into the air and sniff in search of a chicken and cheese aroma. It takes in the region of 25 minutes for the whiff to wander past your nostrils and that is the signal that its time to dish up.

The Chicken lattice pies are only a single serving and not a very large single serving at that. Seeing as they were brushed over with beaten egg the puff pastry has turned a lovely shade of amber and looks fatty and flaky (I mean that in the nicest possible way!)
The pastry top has been sliced in a clever way, so when the puff pastry cooks it expands and the lattice opens, allowing the cheese sauce to seep through the crust and make its way up for air.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating, or so the saying goes.
Birds Eye make the pies using 100% chicken breast pieces that have been marinated. I agree the chicken tastes like chicken but the tasty pieces are small and not too plentiful.
Little dark green flecks of broccoli mingle with the cheese sauce and when you load all three onto the prongs of your fork the taste isn't bad at all, in fact its pretty good!
The sauce tastes cheesy without tasting artificial, the sauce is just about the right thickness to cover the chicken and broccoli effortlessly.
The puffy pastry holds the whole filling in place and I reckon the pie offered me around six good forkfuls.

One Chicken lattice with cheese sauce and broccoli contains an enormous 445 calories, which is hard to believe seeing as they are no size at all!
They have no artificial colours, flavourings or preservatives.
Each pie contains wheat and milk and Birds eye cannot guarantee that every single chicken bone has been removed.

I enjoyed my Chicken Lattice, the taste and the texture were good. Sadly the chicken was a little scarce but what else can you expect for £1.
All things being equal they were a good purchase from a reliable frozen foods manufacturer.

                          Disadvantages

very good quick meal for those hungry little boys

Birds eye chicken lattice with ham and cheese sauce
                          mmmmmm
very nice light crispy puff pastry with tender succulant pieces of chicken breast coated with cheese and ham sauce. Tasted a dream and takes about 25 to 35 minutes to cook in medium oven.
Somewhere around £2.99 mark for price as I haven't bought any just lately can't quite remember price. But have still got two in my freezer waiting for the next meal. They come in packs of two with box cover that shows a picture which looks like the finished item. I am not usually a fan of preprepared meals but this product is very tasty and I don't think there is an over abundance of additives and salt for every 2000kg equals 6g salt
so make your own mind up if you want as this probably comes from the bacon content.
They are 100% breast of chicken if you believe the pack blurb and really do taste lovely. Nice quick cheap meal with new potatoes and veggies or a good dollop of mash.
