I am leaving near the "Paradise" (by the way of Kensal Green) bar and restaurant. It is on Kilburn Lane, near Harrow road. Closest tube are Kensal Green and Queen's Park. Bus 52 stops nearby too. This pub has a kind of "colonial" feeling. It don't really know why, maybe it is the wooden floor, high ceiling, baroque decoration...or maybe it is just me. Anyway it really has a special "je ne sais quoi". You enter in the main room with the bar in front. It is not a "stay up" bar as there are kind a lot of table and chairs there. On the right there is a smaller room with sofas and shelves packed with book. The restaurant sits on the back of the pub. Further back there is a small garden where you can have a drink...very small though. On the top floor there is a large room with a bar. You can book it for parties...It will cost you more than £100 (dont remember the price exactly) and it is fitted with a very good stereo: you bring your CD and can play the DJ! The drinks are classic - variety of lager. Nothing particular really. The restaurant itself is OK...I find it pricey for the quality of food you get. Food is typical for this type of pub: you find some chicken, pasta, tomato salad, creme brulee as a dessert...not surprising but still the menu changes regurlarly and there are various specials of the day. Overall I give a 4 star for the atmosphere and pub but a 3 for the food which is unsurprising.
